Jeremiah Owyang
Best Computer Generated Movie? And why?
I'm going with Beowulf, it's captivating, great effects, and you fall into the movie and don't realize it's CG, fantastic, epic movie - Jeremiah Owyang
The Last Starfighter...was a great birthday movie for me...and the hero's name is Alex - Alex Scoble
@Jeremiah I have been looking forward to seeing this. (I wait and support the local Bookmobile) :) I worked on a Camtasia produced ppt lecture series with a University Instructor on Beowulf. And it was nice to have this film to promote to the students as a supplement to the text. - Melanie Reed
Wall-E since it actually evoked emotion. You could believe in the story and sentiment. - Chris Messina
Good one Chris. Alex, wow you're old school. I like it when the starship spins and shoots all the missiles and lasers. pa bow pow pow pow! Beeen pow pow (laser sounds BTW) - Jeremiah Owyang
Gonna watch it right now to see if I agree. (Just got it on Netflix) - David Cook
I just finished watching clone wars and I must say the rendering was AMAZING. Just the artistry of it all was breath taking (if you can get past some of the shody dialog) ;-) - Jason Herald
Anything by Pixar really, but I would say the first Toy Story for being a breakthrough in technology, animation and storytelling. Really redefined what a "kids" movie could be. - Roger @ CineVegas
Shrek's near the top of the list for rewatchability factor. - Pete Delucchi
WALL-E - Giovanni De Stefano from fftogo
I really liked The Incredibles - Capn' One Eye - adrift
I loved Cars and The Incredibles. - Trevor Carpenter
Well, I just got done watching it and I have to say I was impressed! I was well aware I was watching cg the entire time but it was 10 times better than Final Fantasy's human portrayal. - David Cook
TRON. That's it and that's all. - Akiva Moskovitz
TRON and The Last Starfighter were great. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within impressed me as well. Although not all CG Ghost In The Shell was amazing. - Jim Goldstein
Never saw TRON and the Last Starfighter but the stills I have seen are amazing. WALL-E is good as well. - Roberto Bonini
Final Fantasy was hit when its released - Alemsah Ozturk
Ratatouille! - subsky
TRON... it was the first, with a peek into virtuality... - Progresif Cem Gencer
Pixar has a few great storytelling tales: Ice Age, Finding Nemo and Rattatouille. Haven't seen WALL-E I'm going with Rattatouille. I loved it. - Daniel Barradas
Loved Wall E great movie! - Joe Dawson
Ice Age from Pixar? ;) - Giovanni De Stefano
Wall-E. The range of emotions that were expressed without dialogue were incredible. - Aaron Hood
Monster, Inc by a long shot. Aside from awesome visuals, this one has the most unique story. Super original, unique and creative. - Andrew Baron
Id have to say Toy Story bc before that I was a total skeptic - still love non computer generated animation (particular of the Japanese variety) - but even the first time I saw the Pixar light animated logo and then of course, their first film Toy Story - I was sold. - leigh himel
I read this as best computer model (not movie) since I'm in hurricane watch mode here in Orlando. Not too worried since Fay looks like a Cat 1 at worst. About fave comp movie, I'll go with Last Starfighter (parts) and anything Pixar has produced (and not because I work for Disney). Pixar films always reach deep on the emotions and are artistically and technically impressive. - Mike Reynolds
I'll second that Mike. Pixar films trancend the medium. They are like the old Disney films in thier emotional and artistic appeal. - Roberto Bonini
Shrek, the first one, great animation but a great (and funny) movie too! - Kol Tregaskes from twhirl
Heh, yeah. Pixar didn't do the Ice Age films. - Alex Scoble
