Not surprised.. they'd be foolish to release a huge patch two days before a Holiday when they won't have many employees around to monitor. I suspect Dec 1.
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
from IM
It looks like they haven't finished testing all the bosses yet. They just released a new PTR build.
- Victor Ganata
I really hope it's not for a while yet, I'm too exhausted to be psyched up for new crap. Also, they would suck for adding new content in the middle of the holiday season. Who the hell has time to goof off? /cranky
- Miriella
My friend mentioned that the Hodir shoulder enchants would become BoA with 3.3. That's pretty much the only thing I'm waiting for. Having yet another 80 to go through all that rep stuff is aggravating. One less may not be much, but it's something. Oh, just read test patch notes, head enchants also going BoA. Two down.
- Arlan Koizumi
Sweet. The idea of having to grind rep on an alt gives me the heebie-jeebies.
- Victor Ganata
Hrm...one of these days I should get my DK to 80 rather than farming old world dungeons :)
- Jonas, Leper of FF
Speaking of which, anyone want to tool around in MC? :D
- Jonas, Leper of FF
My unarmed is already maxed. :D I AM HUNTARD, HEAR ME ROAR (Fist weapons FTW!)
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
I'd propose a raid on Hogger with naked level 1 gnome mages but that's probably too much to handle.
- Arlan Koizumi
I just discovered a sort-of Hogger equivalent for gnomes/dwarves last night: http://www.wowhead.com/... No quest to kill him, but you have to loot a box in his cave. Been playing almost since launch, had *no* idea that quest existed.
- Jonas, Leper of FF
I saw that vid of 40 level 1 gnomes taking on Hogger. They *barely* killed him. :D I hear there's a level 80 version of Hogger in ToC.
- Victor Ganata
My music-while-playing time has been greatly reduced these days as I am usually on Vent chatting with guildies while I grind or run dungeons. But when I do listen to music, I tend to reach for things like Tool (good for dungeons), VAST (good for grinding), or a well-seeded Genius list (good for anything). And when I'm feeling particularly meta, I'll listen to one of the WoW soundtracks while playing... :D
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
Usually. I used to make specific playlists for WoW, but now just listen to my usual playlists. This includes everything from Radiohead, Rilo Kiley, Regina Spektor, Death Cab, Pete Yorn, etc.. All the normal weird music I listen to. The first thing I do on a WoW install is mute the in-game music.
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
from IM
I love the in-game music in certain areas. Tanaris being a notable exception. That zone music has always creeped me out.
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
I have a Pandora Channel called Stabity Radio I listen too while running dungeons with you guys.
- CW™
usually trance podcasts from above and beyond or gareth emery. i can grind out for hours to it.

Since completely deleting my digital music collection, I've accumulated 3,531 tracks which total 13.6 days of music taking up 36.67 GB of space. This is mostly from ripping a few hundred CDs plus plenty of iTunes purchases. I still have two more boxes of CDs to go.
iTunes will let you make a pdf of your library? That's cool...don't think I can do that in Zune...dunno about WMP.
- Jonas, Leper of FF
Well, other than a few stragglers, the Great Rip-Off is complete. It's taken a long time but that's because I'd go weeks without ripping anything. iTunes reports: 5,226 tracks which total 19.7 days of music taking up 56.90 GB of space. Somehow, I expected more although that's a pretty hefty collection of music.
- Akiva Moskovitz
I admire your hard graft, Young Akiva! I've been meaning to do something like that for...oh...years now.
- Spidra Webster
Yes, that is impressive size (that's what she said!)
- RAPatton

The next step is the more boring: taking the boxes of CDs, alphabetize them, and put them up on the CD shelf. Something tells me this job will get put off for a very, very long time.
- Akiva Moskovitz
Didn't you say Audrey is really really good and loves to take things and put them neatly onto shelves and into cupboards? Let her do it.
- Matthew DeVries
it should ask you to rename when you try to enter world. I'd suggest trying to find a name you want by creating a level 1 toon (and deleting it before trying to rename... ) so that you don't accidentally get stuck with something you weren't too hot about. my horde lock was "Merlin" but I don't think it'd be available heh

I see a lot of references, here and elsewhere to etsy. My wife used to have a home-based business (which got dissolved in her divorce), and is thinking about selling some of her stuff through etsy. She makes things like bath salts, sugar scrubs, and other bath products, as well as some cooking things, like flavored salts.
Would there be much demand for things like that? I'd love some feedback from those of you here who have mentioned Etsy in the past...thanks!

3.74, which seems way off of everybody else's. I wonder what that says. I comment a lot more than I like.

InPerpetualMotion(Gina k), I really liked this 'Like' of yours (in a series of pics, so I flickr fav'd it): http://friendfeed.com/e... and commented. Thanks!

A recent change in FF: now the comment count shows total number of comments (previously multiple comments in one thread only counted as one) http://friendfeed.com/e... so all the numbers above are from the old methodology....
- David HC Soul
My new ratio: 0.76 all time (old methodology .52).... this week 1.39
- David HC Soul
Looks like my ratio as flipped again (comments back to dominating again). Seems to match my own awareness I've lately been commenting without Liking (commenting is my inherent recognition of value to me and the additional Like is when it merits an extra bump to help discovery by others).
- Micah Wittman
Darn - 0.52. I guess I need to say why I like something a little more often :-) Liking this thread because I was wondering the same thing recently. Has anybody worked out the average from the numbers here? </islazy>

Andy, scroll upward and you'll see a couple calculations from before (January: Average: 1.27 | Median: 0.81)

Rick, you mean that face with glasses I photoshopped tint into with an apparently disembodied arm which is actually very much attached to my eldest son? It's mostly just me :)
- Micah Wittman
Thanks, Michael. Yes, you have a rising tide of comment percentage (oh, wow, you were one of the originals from January - cool!)
- Micah Wittman
Yeah, that's a decent upward rise in comments, Nicholas.
- Micah Wittman
.6 (6,000/10,000) 3rd update - Now it's time to flip this on its head. My goal is to have (16,000/16,000) next time I post here. Regardless of what happens, I'm just looking forward to the next 10,000 comments, likes, posts, and new relationships I make here. It's all good!
- Michael Fidler
1.76 (7539/4290) My commenting habits haven't chanced much, but it felt like I clicked Like a lot less, and this ratio confirms that for me.
- Micah Wittman
.82 as of right now. edit: on January 8th it was 0.39 -- when I saw that, I decided to make more of an effort to comment. When I hit 10k "likes" I decided I wouldn't "like" anything else until I also had 10k comments.
- Bren -- Not Grinchy
Jimminy, I'm copyrighting every single number. It's kind of a honeypot ;) Actually, it was curiosity mostly, but I also hope to build a sampling (small and self-selecting as it may be) for anyone who might want to analyze it.
- Micah Wittman
Wow I didn't realize I was so out of whack!! 12.23 that's got to be a record (and I don't even import my feeds with the summary as a comment)!!

- Micah Wittman
0.89 (17818/19913) (Somebody better make a cool ass graph of all this data!)
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
Micah.. I told you I take my likes seriously; ). You *might* want to ask (in a separate post) what percentage of likes were used to "bookmark" a post or save it for later VS actually "liking it". I NEVER used like for that.. but I did use a private group that if filled with my own topics (and comments)..
- Chris Myles
OK, so statistically, what ratio results in better interaction on FF?
- Jason Huebel
I don't think I could argue that any particular kind of ratio is "best", because if Lurkers like to Lurk and cultivate (via Likes) and the Chatty-ites love to chat, to pump out much many more comments than Likes, each can be happy and make for a great social experience.
- Micah Wittman
So I'm fairly balanced, it appears. I would imagine it's because I try to comment on every post I like. That's not always true, obviously. But mostly it is.
- Jason Huebel
Just clicking "Like" seems too easy. I feel like I should say something, too.
- Jason Huebel
wow, what a difference time makes, when i 1st posted on this thread, 6.43%, now = 1.25%, for a 5.18% difference, :o (and this is the earliest post to date i've recovered of my activity on ff)
- chaz2b
chaz, I think there's been a big fluctuation for most people (maybe not that much). This is the oldest post on which you commented that you've recovered?
- Micah Wittman
that was my third post... It's interesting to see how the number has changed. of course, I manipulated the number to a degree, because I stopped "liking" things for a while...
- Bren -- Not Grinchy
Bren, the other thing that can seriously throw off someone's stats is a feed that upon each item it imports adds a comment automatically.
- Micah Wittman
true. that can seriously inflate comment stats, of course. Then you have someone like RAPatton, who posts a gazillion comments, in part because of his playlist posts where he will list each song in a separate comment. I found, after this post in fact, that I tended to "like" things much more frequently than comment on them, that I was lurking instead of participating. I have changed the way I use ff rather considerably, and I think for the better.
- Bren -- Not Grinchy

Thinking about writing up a post about how to make money on WoW (at least for Outlands and below before you start rolling in it in Northrend). Would anyone be interested? Mainly it would be tips on how to use Auctioneer to rake in the gold and a few other things like strategic fishing. You can do most of it in a half hour or less a day.
Sure! I'm lazy about AH selling but really want my epic flying sometime soon (still about 2k short). I know Xian (Unruin) has been talking about tracking the AH sales and price changes to maximize his selling, I'm sure everyone could use some of your tips!
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
from IM
It is almost brainless the way I use Auctioneer... And I probably make between at least 50g-100g a day... if I were more aggressive I could make more, but 30 min a day on that stuff is enough.
- Fa La La La Lindsay
I'd love it also...most I've ever had on a character is about 1k gold...and that's just by getting lucky with world drops and stuff.
- Jonas, Leper of FF
Please don't write this article. It will destroy our AH experience on Silvermoon if more people did what we do! Share your tips, etc in Guild Chat, but don't write an article.
- Internet's Tad
from fftogo
Too bad we couldn't have a dedicated person in the Guild that would do the auctions for us and take a percentage from the receiving funds as a payment. Maybe even the Guild would earn a nice small percentage for the service too.. hmmm... (Hmmm.. wonder who could do this????) :D
- CW™
This might help you guys, now that you mention it CW - in my guild, a lot of the members put in stuff into the guild bank that they think might be useful to other members. Every once in a while, the officers go through and take stuff out and put them on the AH to sell, and the money goes into the guild bank fund.
- Miriella
Miriella - how do you figure out who should get the guild bank funds after that? Is someone keeping track of who put stuff in and how much it went for on the AH so when they need money they can pull Xg out? Just curious.
- Fa La La La Lindsay
I think that'd be useful. I know my brother has struggled with that in the past, though he's on a WoW hiatus right now.
- Laura H.
Lindsay, I think Miriella, means that anything that is put in the Guild Bank is for everyone. No one person can really count that its theres. Once the item is in the bank then is Guild property until a fellow guildy needs it and then takes it. The project would be for the Guild Leaders (or designates) to Auction anything to "Clean up the Bank" and then any funds from those auctions would go back into the Bank for the Guild.
- CW™
Oh, sorry, Lindsay, we also set it up so that all of our members can repair using the guild bank every day. Right now it's set to just 10g per member (which is pretty much useless at level 80, I think I'll need to ask to change that), and increases as you go up in rank. And, if anyone *needs* anything, they are welcome to ask the GB for a loan.
- Miriella
@CW: Any one of the officers sell stuff in the GB, though for right now we've left everything in its place so that leveling guildies can have access to gear, recipes, mats, etc. I can certainly start throwing things into the AH for the guild. I don't need a cut. I have more gold than I know what to do with. As far as everyone having access to the GB for repairs, that will probably remain inactive until we get people running heroics and raids.
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
before I quit playing I used to make 800-1200g/day on the AH :P let me know if you want tips, but the general practice is to pick markets and control the bottom: buy off the lowest priced ones, and when someone posts lower than you, buy theirs and resell it. I used to do this for enchanting and it resulted in tons of revenue.
- mjc
Yup: buy low, sell high... That's the way to make the moolah.
- Fa La La La Lindsay
Considering reactivating my account, but I don't know where my old guild is at, and I don't think I can afford to fork over an additional $15 to transfer to silvermoon. :/
Create a DK or roll a new toon! If you like the server/guild enough maybe you'll feel the $15 is worth it. Most of us are just now getting to 80 and starting heroics, with others not far behind.
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
Same boat as you. So I'm playing a warrior for the first time on Silvermoon. Made the guy last night. :-)
- Matthew Horton
Debating transferring my 71 warlock to Silvermoon...tempting!

- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
My DK is already 80 and fairly well geared ( http://www.wowarmory.com/charact... ) and my druid is 74(?). I spent the $15 I had for something else but I might do it next time I have cash. what times are the 70+'s on?
- mjc
Depends, though the greatest concentration of high level players tends to be on around 5-10pm ST.
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
fits in my schedule mostly, 6-11 server time
- mjc
Dude, janitors can make more than that at some places.
- imabonehead
Granted, this job IS in Detroit, where $40k probably will buy you a mansion and servants.
- Internet's Tad
from fftogo
That seems insultingly low, regardless of region. Most non-entry level dev jobs start at 50k.
- Sparky
In that region, which has been practically destroyed economically, 40K might not be so bad
- Shevonne
What's really bad is that the guy who sent me the posting is someone I worked with who KNOWS I'm a veteran developer.
- Internet's Tad
from fftogo
That's ok, I got a LinkedIn .Net hit for 40-45K the other day...ummm... did they even look at my profile (and seen how many years I've been doing this??)? No, recruiter, I don't know any other devs who would be willing to work for that either.
- Fa La La La Lindsay
kids straight out of school would, no?
- Chris Heath
i'd take 30-40! how hard is it to learn ruby on rails?
- edythe
@Chris, yes, that would probably be a good starting salary out of school (for a year or so just to get experience), but Tad and I are both a little bit beyond that stage! @edythe - Ruby on Rails has its quirks but it's not any harder to learn than any other programming languages/frameworks. If you have any experience programming you can probably pick it up if you want to.
- Fa La La La Lindsay
I live in Detroit, trust me you canNOT buy a mansion and servants for that amount of money. However, it is a seller's market in this area when it comes to jobs. They know that no one in their right mind would move here for a job. If you are already here and are considering that job, then you're trapped and they will give you anything they feel like. Yes, I want to move.
- Derek Coward
actually, after sleeping on it... 30k is way too low for a programming job... 35 maybe but 40 should be about the starting wage for programmers
- Chris Heath
Yeah, 30K is about twice current minimum wage... 40K isn't even 3 time minimum wage. I made about that much when I started my career while still in college about 14 years ago.
- Fa La La La Lindsay
I think my first programming job, back in 2001-2002 (where I met @Tad), I was making 35K...wasn't bad for someone self-taught with no college experience.
- Jonas, Leper of FF
Yeah, again, I think it's fine for someone to start out and get a year's experience or so... Once you've got that under your belt then it's time for a major raise! And it's just kind of insulting to offer that to someone who's been doing dev for more than a decade... The economy is still hurting but it's not THAT sour (at least for IT)...
- Fa La La La Lindsay
And again, to rub salt in the wound, it's in DETROIT. BLEH.

Once, I had the idea of using my high school pic for a Facebook profile pic. I took one look and felt ill. I dismissed that idea. For senior pics, females had to wear these stupid drape-thingies which showed our shoulders and made us look like we had no arms. What kind of warped brain thinks up this stuff?
- MiniMage TKDteacher of FF
And the funny thing is, it's not really a tux. It was just something that looked like a tux from the shoulders up. And yes, everyone wore the same thing. The girls had the drape thing which they all thought was really stupid. This was only for the seniors pics. Everyone else just wore whatever they had on at school.

I'm dying for a real fun interesting string of dungeon runs this weekend! Last night I pugged Heroic UP and after TWO AND A HALF HOURS we finished with me dying only FOURTEEN TIMES and spending 32g for repairs. FOR HEROIC UP ZOMG. To make up for it, my guild leader took me on my first 5-man ToC run and I got some SWANK shoulders. :D
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
I'll need some of the mid 60s dungeons :) BF, Slave Pens, etc :D
- Jonas, Leper of FF
Oooh, we like running those. :) They're quick, easy, and fun. I really missed out doing a lot of those at level, so I'm a massive fan of going back and doing them. Especially when I can volley crap down for you without even breaking a sweat. :P
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
What lvl you at, X? You're mid-70's still, yes? We need to focus on getting you and Sean to 80 so that we can ease you into some heroics. :D As far as Wrath content dungeons, we can make a really good showing in Nexus, UK, DKT, Gun, AN, and VH. Easily. It'll help y'all get your XP up, your rep up, and your gear up. :D
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
I should mention that my goal in life is to make Vic the beefiest Pally tank that ever existed. :D
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
I'm just about 72 now. But I'll run anything that'll let me in the door. <3 Killin' stuff.
- Christian (Simply X)
Heh. We should have no problem having you along for stuff. Vic, Gunny, and I are all 80, and Sean is 77. So there's plenty of firepower and protection.

I'm in Except from 12:30-2:00 PM Server Time Sunday. Gotta take the youngster to Brownies
- Gunny doesn't side-hug™
My computer bit the big one, and i'm waiting on a new one to arrive tomorrow. Probably by late tomorrow afternoon I should be good for content. Amorholi could use Nexus (she's a level 71 healadin/tank) and some group practice, but Amorfati is up for any heroic/tier 7 content. People need to level faster and be on more!
- Mark Trapp
I'm on every night. :D I see you online, I'm just never sure if I should bug you or not. lol I know everyone has their own thing they like to do, so I get paranoid about bugging people. Except Sean, whom I harass every time he logs in because he's perpetually stuck in the 70's. :D
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
If I'm online, it's likely I'm up for any heroics or naxx or whatnot, but I haven't done any of it, so I'd need to learn the fights. As long as that's okay, bug me! I want to learn level 80 stuff!
- Mark Trapp
Totally! I can talk you thru almost any heroic, and it's even better because we're both facerolling DPS, so there's very little (if any) deviation between yours and my strategies in those boss fights.
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
from FreshFeed
Does anyone have a particular preference for what time we should start? :D
- Victor Ganata
Besides today (since my computer is dead), optimal times for me are between 2:30 and 8pm PST. Anything before and I'm likely working, anything after I'm likely too tired to try to pick something up. If we had a regular time that was later, that'd work: I'd take a nap or something before.
- Mark Trapp
I'm trying to temper my playing a little because I want to balance it better with my schoolwork obligations. So I can schedule that around whatever we settle on as our run time (daily heroic YES PLZ). I get home from work at 4:30pst and am available up through midnight. :)
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
Well, we'll try and work something out on the weekdays, I guess. The absolute earliest I can be on is 8pm server time during the week. But as for the weekend, what time is everyone free, Saturday or Sunday?
- Victor Ganata
Oh I see how it is, Mr. "I'm A Doctor and I Do Science!" :P Sunday is typically my most free day, though when school winds down for this term, I'll have almost completely free Saturdays as well. :)
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
Nice. That place is great for doing a quick run but still getting some good drops. In fact, my current staff came from there (Heroic mode, though). At first I wasn't sure if I would care much for the "random boss" concept, but I think it keeps things fresh, and once you have encountered each boss at least once, you know what to expect, so it's just good clean fun. :D
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
It was my first time in there, and had no idea what to expect. I kept thinking a door was going to open and we'd have to run through some mindless cavern and get lost. I like that it's a random boss, that will make doing it repeatedly not so damn tedious. I'm halfway to 80, BTW. Heroics this weekend! :D
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
YAY. I'm hoping my cousins forget about our "cousins' night out in SF" thing we were supposed to do this Saturday so I can stay home and do homework and work on WoW. I want to run with y'all! (though I keep kind of sort of spending more time with my guild cuz I'm gettin' my flirt on with someone...ahem...)
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
On a Prius? Wow.. i would expect it more on a Humvee.

I think there's a real difference between people who put pro bumper stickers (e.g. - I'm for this, or stand for that) versus anti bumper stickers (like this one). This person is actually defined by Obama instead of having their own identity. There's no - this is what I stand for, it's this is what I stand against. That's a very major psychological difference in how people digest the world IMO.
- AJ Kohn
I wish that there was a menu option for Boot Camp that allows me to 'Reboot Into Windows' from OS X and 'Reboot Into OS X' from Windows. This holding-down-the-Option-key is for SUCKAFISH.
There is....if you installed the bootcamp control panel in windows, you'll have something in your notification area that lets you reboot to Mac...in the Mac side, go to the control panel (whatever it's called), and go to startup disk, that'll let you reboot into windows.
- Jonas, Leper of FF
Check under System Preferences>Startup Disc when in Mac OS X and Control Panel under Winblows.
- pitlord
That works but it's not as quick and easy as a two-click menu option.
- Akiva Moskovitz
A two click menu option is not as quick and easy as holding the option key and clicking once. >.>
- pitlord
Except that I have to time it properly. I can't click 'Reboot Into Windows' and then go do something else. I have to babysit the reboot.
- Akiva Moskovitz
It's actually easier from the Windows side than it is from the Mac side.
- Victor Ganata
It's the modern, 3D successor to Baldur's Gate without the D&D/Forgotten Realms baggage. I played through 2 and a half of the 6 intros, and they're each excellent. I haven't gotten much further than where each of them merges into the main storyline. The controls are pretty awkward, but not too surprising for a feature packed game squeezed onto a console.
- Internet's Tad
A few people at work have mentioned it. It's an RPG right? I've never really got into RPGs.

I ordered it off steam last night. 15GB download :O

Hmmm...real-time combat, or turn-based? (or the pseudo-realtime thing they did in KOTOR, which I'm fine with).

I believe it's realtime but you can pause and queue up spells/abilities. At least real-time compared to Japanese RPG's.
- Rodfather
From what I read, in the console versions you are in the 3rd person perspective only and plays like KOTOR. You switch between team members with the triggers. In the PC version, you get both a 3rd person perspective and top-down view (like Baldur's Gate)
- Rodfather
OK, I might give it a looksee. I played the Warhammer: Dawn of War 2 demo the other day. really, really liked it.
- Kol Tregaskes
You can download the demo for the 360 to see if you'll like it. Actually maybe not.. at least someone told me there was a demo.
- Rodfather
Thanks, Rodfather, I might give it a rent. I like western RPGs (KOTOR, Oblivion, Fallout), but not Japanese ones that much, and I haven't played Baldur's Gate or Diablo or any of those PC ones to really know what they're like.
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
Dragon Age is VERY similar to KOTOR, Mass Effect, etc, just with a fantasy flair.
- Internet's Tad
Tad, SWEET! Sounds right up my alley. Can't wait for Mass Effect 2. Dragon Age wasn't even on my radar, so thanks for mentioning it.
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
Yup - you'll love it Jandy. Also, it comes with some sort of "in game" item thingy for Mass Effect 2

- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
Woohoo! It took me about 4 days to get my DK's inscription/herbalism up to where I could actually "play" in outlands and be able to pick flowers/mill them at the appropriate level.
- Jonas, Leper of FF
I feel like I've been trying to level mining forever! And I'm still not high enough to mine in Outland either.
- Victor Ganata
I need to work on my skills.. Maybe a few hours of mining in the lower levels could do me a world of good.
- CW™
Victor, check out http://www.wow-professions.com/wowguid... if you haven't already. Quite helpful. Also the other guides are pretty good for other professions. I used that for mining on my pally (Crusader Aura is the bees-knees) and the JC guide.
- Arlan Koizumi
Gunny, congrats! Flower picking is so therapeutic. :D

I need bigger bags... do we have any tailors who can make 18+ slot bags? If so, can you post the recipes so I can get you some mats and make me some please??
I'm a tailor, I can make Frostweave bags that are 20 slotters. Let me find the recipe.
- Mark Trapp
Frostweave Bag (URL: http://www.wowhead.com/...): 6 Bolts of Imbued Frostweave and 2 Eternium Threads, OR 12 Bolts of Frostweave, 12 Infinite Dusts, and 2 Eternium Threads, OR 60 Frostweave Cloth, 12 Infinite Dusts, and 2 Eternium Threads.
- Mark Trapp
There's also the Imbued Netherweave Bag, which is 18 slots (URL: http://www.wowhead.com/...), 4 Bolts of Imbued Netherweave, 2 Netherweb Spider Silk, and 1 Greater Planar Essence, OR 12 Bolts of Netherweave, 8 Arcane Dust, 2 Netherweb Spider Silk, and 1 Greater Planar Essence OR 60 Netherweave, 8 Arcane Dust, 2 Netherweb Spider Silk and 1 Greater Planar Essence
- Mark Trapp
Materials for Frostweave are Northrend Only, Materials for Imbued Netherweave are Outland Only. Both recipes are leveling recipes (meaning we use them to level tailoring), so a lot of times they're sold at a loss on the AH, which means you might find it cheaper to just buy the bags on the AH than trying to get all the supplies together.
- Mark Trapp
For reference, Frostweave Bags go for 50-70g on the AH, and Imbued Netherweave Bags are about 10-30g.
- Mark Trapp
I'd offer to make Glacial Bags, which are 22 slotters, but that requires no less than 16 days of cooldowns, and I can't make them for the price they put on the AH (~900-1200g) because of that. Haris Pilton sells Gigantique bags (also 22 slots) in Shattrah Lower city for 1200g.
- Mark Trapp
Hmm... yeah, I'm not high enough to go to Northrend yet so gathering supplies would be difficult. I guess I will just have to work the AH some more and get funds...
- Fa La La La Lindsay
Glacial Bags require 4 Ebonweave and 4 Moonshroud, which are special tailoring cloths. Both have cooldowns of 4 days each (I can only make two Ebonweave and one Moonshroud every 4 days), and can only be made in a specific area in Northrend. Since the Ebonweave and Moonshroud are also used in other recipes, they're especially rare and valuable. TBC had similar cloths to make the Primal Mooncloth Bag (20 slots), but that's been made obsolete by the Frostweave Bag.
- Mark Trapp
It's 1 stack of netherweave to make a regular 16-slot NW bag, right? That plus the thread?
- Jonas, Leper of FF
Wahooo some wow talk! I got my Pali into full tanking form (http://bit.ly/Acxxk) over the weekend and he is in all epics now apart from two pieces. I may have asked this before what about timezone is silvermoon?
- Nicholas Kreidberg
Netherweave Bag is 4 Bolts of Netherweave and 1 Rune Thread, OR 20 Netherweave and 1 Rune Thread. But if you're only interested in 16 slot bags, might as well buy Traveler's Backpacks. They're likely cheaper than the materials for a Netherweave Bag, as they only have one purpose.
- Mark Trapp
Well, I'm getting netherweave on my DK and don't really have a use for it at the moment. (other than bandages, I suppose).
- Jonas, Leper of FF
Create bandages until Heavy Netherweave Bandage is grey, then sell the rest on the AH and use the proceeds to buy the cheaper bags. WoW's economy is such a fairy tale that DIY is rarely cost effective.
- Mark Trapp
Yea, I was pretty stoked to get the first one...then to have the 2nd one drop, I was flabbergasted :)
- Jonas, Leper of FF
I got two of the squashlings. That sucks because I can't do anything with the second one but delete it. :( Two bags, though... that's a cool thing.
- Fa La La La Lindsay
Where do you get the squashlings from? Also..I know I'm getting sucked back into this...I'm wishing I could play at work again. :) Hard to believe I was "clean" for a year and a half...
- Jonas, Leper of FF
squashlings can come from the trick or treat bags that you can get from any innkeeper every hour, or you can get them from the Headless Horseman boss in Scarlet Monastery Cemetery Hallow's End event thingie.
- Miriella
HH has been dropping absolute shit for my groups this year. If I have to see that damn caster ring one more time, it's gonna get ugly.
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
*fistbump* Miriella! The stuffed Murloc is the shit, yo. Me and my roommates each have one. It can get downright obnoxious in this house some nights.
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
HA! That's awesome. I'll have to come over some night with mine and we'll have Murloc night...silliness.
- Miriella
Where do you get the sounds for your phones?? I tried looking for sound files in the WoW files on my box but couldn't find any.
- Fa La La La Lindsay
I think you have to somehow extract them from the MPQ archives. I figured out how to do it once in Mac OS X, but definitely don't know how to do it in Windows.
- Victor Ganata
Mine is January 21, 2005 7:30:35 PM. Jesus, has it been 4 years? (You can find under your "Manage Account" section on WorldofWarcraft.com)
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
My new account January 19, 2009 1:07:01 AM sadly I don't have my original account info anymore. This is what happens when you stop playing for nearly >3years
- Jimminy
I'm not where I can check, but I'm pretty sure I've only been doing this for roughly a year or so. I think it was last summer when I started this with Mattie.
- Jon, the Chilled Beartato
November 23, 2005, but do I count? I haven't played in months
- mjc
Sure you do! Anyone in the room can answer this question. I took several year-long breaks in that 4 year time span.

I think I'm officially the noob here :)
- Victor Ganata
Victor I still qualify as a Noob. Sure I created my acct 4 years ago, but I have never had a level capped toon. In fact this Hunter I'm playing is my highest level character ever.
- Gunny doesn't side-hug™
My original account was created November 26, 2004 6:43:57 PM. The account I play on these days was created January 27, 2006 7:29:36 PM. (I used to multi-box)
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
I played the beta for WoW too :) The last time I played everyday was probably 3-4 years ago though
- Rodfather
I never played the beta because I was against MMO's at the time, but my roommate did the beta and watching him play it is what got me interested. :) While he did the beta, I spent a lot of time replaying Dungeon Keeper and Diablo II. :D
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
My clicking finger gets sore just thinking about Diablo II :)
- Rodfather
I was really into Dark Age of Camelot before going to WoW. It was the first one I really got into since RL friends were guildies.
- Rodfather
Rod I was big time into DAOC. I played a Shaman until they nerfed them into buff bot status. Then I rolled a Theurgist. Now THAT was a great toon. Too bad mythic destroyed their own game.
- Gunny doesn't side-hug™
I almost got into Guild Wars *shudders* and played the beta of that but realized it was total crap and boring as hell. So you were around for the gate event on your server! :) I wasn't high enough of a level for it on my server, but it was fun to get totally mowed down out in Feathermoon Stronghold by the big elite Anubises for half a day... :P
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
I got Guild Wars as well.. played for about a week then got bored and frustrated with not being able to jump. Seriously? No jumping? WTF?!
- Haggis (Sean Loyless)
OMG I know. It drove me CRAZY. That and just the incredibly slow process of questing, grinding, leveling, gearing...it was really ridiculous how much effort it took to progress. So glad I walked away.
- tinypants - Hagitha of FF
I didn't like how the spells were all loopy. It looked like they were tossing softballs instead of casting a fireball.
- Rodfather
It's South West - pretty decent. Not great. I wish they had more stuff with seafood, but what they have is alright. Just gets old. Free Wifi and power outlets keep me coming back.
