I used to see Segways everywhere in SF a decade ago. But nobody walks in LA and nobody rides the Segway even with the gas hikes. At 5-6K, it is Steve Wozniak's (co-founder of Apple Computers) novelty. I know, old news. But I saw one ridden at Santa Monica's 3rd St. Promenade a couple of weeks ago and couldn't help but reminisce of my good ol' days from the Bay. - Judy L. Lin
