We now have a real British TV channel here in the DC area -- WETA UK.
With all the kinds of programming that used to be on BBC America. - Julian
I'm holding out hope that the channel will show the old episodes of Doctor Who (which I haven't seen on TV in about four years). The "new" series will be on, though. - Julian
Today is all about showing series premieres. All Creatures Great and Small, Ballykissangel, Waking the Dead, Lark Rise to Candleford, Born and Bred, Monarch of the Glen, Primeval, new Doctor Who, Red Dwarf... basically, the shows BBC America never had (or were slow to add, or haven't had in a while). - Julian
No Only Fools and Horses? I don't understand why the most benign stuff makes it over here, other than people expect British shows to be romantic or dry and witty in a certain way. Then again, considering how many Americans are excited about the Jubilee it all makes sense. - kendrak
It *is* public television, so if there's enough demand... - Julian
There's a feedback loop though - PBS only got certain types of shows so people expect it. Though I quite liked Waiting for God and Yes, (Prime) Minister. - kendrak
I'd like to see the it crowd, blacks books, my hero, and the one in the market...butvin sure well just get more and more as time goes by - Christina Pikas from iPhone
Black Books is on Hulu. At least it was. - Spidra Webster
