Thanks. That's a pic of him with me (left) and my two brothers. He was a great man and a wonderful dad. I still miss him 17 years later but more than anything I'm so grateful for everything he did for us.
- WorldofHiglet
Spoke to my mum (living so far away is hard) and older brother, (couldn't get through to lil bro) then had a celebratory dinner with hubby and the kids. We had some wine, some laughs, said a toast and sang Happy Birthday.
- WorldofHiglet
Thanks, Micah. It's sad, of course, but I'm concentrating on the happy side. In his honour I'm going to watch The Sleeper (Woody Allen film) later :)
- WorldofHiglet
I love you celebrated his birthday. *cheers*
- R1CC1
:) he never met any of his 10 grandchildren, but I want them to know about him. My little 5 year old has been asking questions all day, which is great. And she has been very sweet, giving extra hugs and looking after me - kids try to understand and I'd much rather they talk about him than everyone trying to not mention it. Death is a hard subject but if we don't remember and celebrate the people who mean the most to us then we are doing them and ourselves a disservice.
- WorldofHiglet
Best to you, Johnny my boy!! <3 Georgia's got a pretty good one. :)
- Derrick
Happy Fathers Day, Johnny, each year my princess gives me a beautiful photo of herself, an awesome hand-crafted card and if I've been really good . . . a block of chocolate . . . I thank god that some one loves me . . .
- Chris Loft
What? No beard! I call shenanigans! :p Happy Fathers Day, Johnny!
- Helen Sventitsky
Happy Father's Day from the West Coast of teh United States. I hear what you're saying and agree: my daughter is 3y 4mo and is, like yours, the BEST. PRESENT. EVER.
- Michael Luevane
amanın. mads mikkelsen'in fotoğrafı çok güzel.

I think he did the right thing, even AT the end. He gave her every opportunity to back off, and when she refused to he delivered the smackdown. Sorry, but harassment works BOTH ways and he had every right to protect himself.
- Helen Sventitsky
... and adding a pic would *not* have improved this thread. I mean sure it is entertaining to gauge the temptation level but realistically the pic would get back to Caroline and further screw up her life.
- Daniel J. Pritchett

- Hip-Hop in da House
Am I the only one that thinks if she were super hot, then the email exchange would not have been as long? :)
- Cristo
Perhaps. But it was obvious this guy knew what she was implying for the start. And it sounds like he wasn't going to have any of it.
- Hip-Hop in da House
Right, as in he knew what she looked like, and wasn't going to have any of it. Apparently she's as bad at assessing her likelihood of success using that technique as she is at her studies.
- Cristo
I dunno. Even if she was hot, it is worth destroying your career for it? I certainly wouldn't.
- Hip-Hop in da House
Love the new crib! Hey, that dress looks great on her! She's growing up! *dabs eye with handkerchief*
- Trish Haley
*dies from cuteness* I GET TO SEE THE AWESOME CUTENESS THAT IS BABBY AUDREY IN PERSON TOMORROW!!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!! YOU ARE ALL JEALOUS OF ME NOW!
- Her Lindsay-ness
Lindsay, when I put her to bed, I told her that she has to go to sleep so she can wake up well rested to meet the Donaghes. :P
- Rochelle
Rochelle will say the same thing to me in about a half-hour.
- Akiva Moskovitz
what can i say? :) may god keeps his hand over your head
- testbeta
Curtis, that's one of the universe's great unanswerable questions.
- Akiva Moskovitz
Audrey must have gotten all of her cuteness from Akiva. Rochelle still has hers and I don't see where else all this cute could have come from.
- Sparky Crocker
You're saying she's not just cute, but that she's a cuteness sink? a cuteness event horizon?
- Matthew DeVries
A proverbial black hole of cuteness?
- Jordan Hofker
Looked up "cute" in the dictionary. Saw this pic... feared for the space time continuum... looked at pic again... all was right with the world.
- MASTER OF THE OBVIOUS
Great stuff. If she's anything like my daughter then before ya know it she'll be talking. At first just sounds, then words, then a lot of words, then really, really quite a lot, then almost without ever stopping to get a breath, incessantly, constantly, drowning out all other sounds and words in the household all day long. :)
- Patrick Jordan
Patrick, she's already well on her way. She started calling me 'Da-Da' a week ago.
- Akiva Moskovitz
Isn't that the best thing in the world, Akiva?
- Josh Haley
It's heart melting. Of course, this melting of hearts is sometimes defused when she also calls a neighborhood cat 'Da-da' or an oscillating fan or a stain on the ceiling...
- Akiva Moskovitz
Bah, we all know who she's really talking about. :)
- Josh Haley
Akiva - well on her way = awesome, and it only gets more and more awesome from there onwards. Despite my lame joking in my previous post, my daughter pretty much comes up with something every day - in her constant stream - that makes my day.
- Patrick Jordan
@Scott, as cute as her pictures are, they do not begin to touch how she is in person. She turns your insides to goo.
- Trish Haley
every time i look at her i can't help smiling mean look the surprise on her face...i never use the word cute..but i can't help it now
- testbeta
SUCK IT, SCOBLE!!! I've found the secret to attracting followers - I've picked up 4 new subscribers in the last 33 minutes. What's the secret? BOOBS!!! It's all about the BOOBAGES!!!
Yes, Mathew, I agree. However, I did the best I could without calling my daughter and asking her to take the shot for me. Maybe you should prevail on my fiance to take special FriendFeed boob shots when he's down here next month.
- Ladybug Heather
HAHAHA!! I just saw this and I can't stop laughing!!
- Justin Korn
@Neal, most assuredly not. Just saying that we women have the power to take over the internets whenever *WE* want, merely by showing y'all menfolk the boobs. We only LET the men appear to be in charge to assuage y'all's fragile male egos.
- Ladybug Heather
Robert finally admits he has man boobs... but the world is relieved to know he doesn't inappropriately use them for adding to his social media following "prowess"
- Susan Beebe
I'm very sad about this. Before leaving for work I sat Orion down and gave him "The Talk". I told him we loved him and that he was going to go to an awesome home soon and he'd be with them forever, that he is an awesome lovey kitten, and to know that we always love him. Yes, I really do this for each kitten we foster, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. As for Orion, he's such an instant purr bucket who doesn't mind being held that he'll find a new home almost instantly.
- Kevin Fox
Wow, that was FAST! Glad to hear he's ready to go find his perma-home now!
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
Thanks Aden & Anna! Tina, yeah, it was two weeks. He was already about 6 weeks when we got him and we want to get him out the door as soon as possible to maintain maximum cuteness for adoption. He was quite social when we got him, all we had to do was build trust and he just blossomed, he weight was the only issue we ever had and he has totally bulked up. I wish I could keep him another week, but that would just be keeping him from his new home. He should be up for adoption by this Thursday or Friday.
- Rachel Lea Fox
*hugs and sniffles* I talk to my kitties and my dog that way too. If I'm going to be gone for the weekend or all day.
- Yolanda
Sorry I only had time for a short visit w/ a nervous kitty!
- Paul Wilcox
Paul, he's not nervous. He is actually one of the most mellow we have had. Doesn't even jump if I'm holding him and start sneezing. We were all just in a hurry and he had just been let out of his pen and just wanted to run.
- Rachel Lea Fox
Kudos for being foster parents! You're good eggs! Orion is so adorable. Go forth, little man! Be great! :)
- Sarah Lane
Thanks Sarah. Orion is playing the "be as cute as possible so they won't take me back" card by laying on me while I work and purring up a storm. Sadly we have to go in about 20 minutes. :(
- Rachel Lea Fox
It must be sad to part with the little kitty but you obviously are very caring and are ensuring he goes to a good home. I wish there were many more people like you. You have my respect and admiration.
- Kevin J Hatton
Kevin, we do it as much for our own benefit and for our adult cats as we do it for the kittens. Of course the goal is to get the kittens healthy, socialized and adoptable but they give back so much love and laughter and fun. and they remind our two adult cats to be kittens themselves, and they become more active, playful and cuddly when the kittens are around and just after they have...
- Rachel Lea Fox
Mona, actually I was thinking the same thing after I took the photo. It's not different, just a bad hair day I think. And maybe the light was different, I don't know. Hopefully it will be back to normal tomorrow.
- Rachel Lea Fox
Sick and Tired, no worries. I miss him quite a bit, but he will have a wonderful home himself very soon and we will get more kitties to fill the gap in our hearts. I don't think we will have too long to wait on the more kittens, but we shall see.
- Rachel Lea Fox
He's sure to attract lovely owners! I'm glad you and Kevin have so much love to give all these kitties.
- Anne Bouey
He had his operation this morning, so he will be up for adoption by Friday or Saturday. He went on a weight gaining spree the last week we had him. Gained about 11oz and that is with me cutting his food way way back from what he was getting when we were trying to bulk him up. A bunch was muscle too I'm sure as he was running around and playing like crazy. I hope he gets a new home this weekend.
- Rachel Lea Fox
ty! we had a last minute glitch with the name - a late entrant is proving more formidable than we imagined so we are having to weigh the two finalists against one another hmmm will it be Oprah Talula Nunez or Madonna Cher Nunez...such tough choices
- Marco(aureliusmaximus)
I dunno, Bren...trying to get my ducks in a row.
- Derrick
I know some folks were headed this way for Gnomedex...ps, I will be in LA next weekend, though I have no idea how much free time I will have

On the coat tails of the acronym RTFM, I should like to nominate for use in FF and other threaded conversations the acronym RTFT. Read The eFfing Thread. Second?
So let it be written, so let it be done.
- Josh Haley
In a sea of sameness and over-arching brand architecture, this continues to defy category conventions while remaining media agnostic.
- Christopher Harley
Don't do what one person did, the husband Twittered his entire wedding ceremony and dinner! Enjoy the moment. Maybe you can designate someone to Twitter the wedding, so you have a wedding photographer, wedding videographer, and wedding Twitterer!
- Alvin
@debng I don't believe in social media experts. The way social media moves, there's no way to be an expert in it, but you can be an enthusiast! Measuring someone's success rate as a SM enthusiast means knowing their motivations and what interests them about SM; it's not about qualifications, etc.
I think somebody *can* be a social media expert, and I define such an expert as an individual that can get a community interested in something. There are just ever-changing ways to accomplish this.
- Rishabh Mishra (p248)
I think there are too may self-proclaimed "social media experts." Maybe it's just me, but it seems like every other non-spammer who follows me on Twitter is one. There aren't THAT many in the world.

"Some of the new features that have been added to Open Office 3.1 are antialiased drawings to smooth the edges of graphics, replying to notes, improved grammar checking, hyperlink management and sorting, control of slideshow media, macro support for Open Office Base, relative database paths, better internationalization for Hebrew and Arabic plus performance improvements (read our Speed up Open Office article for even more tips on how to improve the speed and performance)."

Nice, I use this at home a lot but do run into some problems porting it over to Word regarding footnotes, hope thats fixed in this version
- Mark Edmondson
I don't know about you guys, but I like Office 2007 UI. I find it to be very easy to navigate and use. OpenOffice feels like MS Office's ugly brother, but I am sure it will get better in time.
- Artem Daniliants
from IM
please tell me when am I getting the ribbon UI?
- Lakshman Prasad
I'm with Artem above. MSO2K7 FTW. MS is miles ahead of OO.o in terms of UI. It's worth paying for IMO.
- LANjackal
O2K7's ribbon UI is really, really confusing for people who've grown up with 2k3 and prior. I can understand that for many tasks it can be faster over time, but I see people all over my school and various offices who bumble through the menus every single time even after 2 years of use. That + .docx etc. in environments where you can't install the compatibility pack = angry users
- mjc
did they add the view/outline with complete features? Is the only reason I still use Word....I am ready to switch if they did
- bonuck (e gli associati?)
thanks for the hint. Time for another huge download, I assume
- Thorsten Matzner
Thorsten, I guess. I remember I had to download the whole thing last time they released any update. :-(
- Kol Tregaskes
I've sworn off menus thanks to the ribbon in MS Office 2007. It's so much easier to find and remember where functionality is than in 2K3, it's not even funny.
- Chieze Okoye
Cool! This means that the Mac port NeoOffice is going to get even better! It has worked well for me since last August, and has never crashed or caused anyone using MS Office to see any weird formatting from my end. UI-wise, iWork is just splendid though, and I'm going to ante up for the full paid version rather than the 1 month trial one of these days.
- Siddharth Deb
Love OO. Just want them to have a version of publisher.
- Jen (SquirrelGirl)
I love Open Office...Well open source-period. But those guys have allowed me to be a professional without having to rely upon MS. Thanks for letting us know about this, I plan to head over and download mine this week!
- Benin Brown
Just so long as you don't start repeating yourself. Oh wait.
- Rick Turoczy
Just slightly drunk? That's not going to be entertaining enough for us. We want to hear about how you wanted a little pony when you were a kid, but you got a toy one instead. Or how you think it might still work out with your high school sweetheart, if you could only find her on facebook. :)
- Cristo
To heck with that. I want him to get drunk enough to put me in his will.
- Brent - Long Live Rock
I just said they didn't I. Look the reason why o have so mich rme to write this garbage..is because my lady loves the loo. So unfortunately, you guys are left with my ramblings every hour or so :)
