Yesterday on my way to work, so a woman reading on a Kindle on the subway. On my ride back home, on the subway, a guy was reading on a Kindle. Are these things selling like hotcakes or what? I've never seen anyone with a G1.
Here I am. Twelve months and 60 posts later. I managed to do it. This is not the first time I start a blog. I did when the “blog” term was coined and then a second time when I thought I had something to say. Third time is the charm, they say. There are many times when bloggers will think about quitting their blogs because it makes no sense to continue writing for 40 people, or because they’re making pennies or less per month. This post will tell you why I haven’t quit and what worked this time. I will also share some data about the blog’s progress in traffic and revenues.

60 is a good start. Call me when you get over 2,000. :)

Louis and gang: thanks so much for the good wishes. I promise I'm stepping it up and will call you when I get to 2,000

Pandora knows I'm writing a deep blog post, and thus is sending me the most inspiring music. I love you, P.
omg I wish my netbook was touchscreen...I would SO boot ubuntu off and install this
- Mike VanLare (slayerboy)
@Mike I hadn't thought of that. I wonder if it'll work with a mouse/touchpad. It should, I guess.

Mike V: think touchscreens will start showing up in netbook size computers soon, because they are an ideal input device for small form factors
- Mike Chelen
don't see why it wouldn't work with a mouse/touchpad...just the UI just begs to be touched :P

yep I definitely see touchscreens coming into netbook computers...the touchscreen laptops flopped because they were too big and bulky and too expensive. netbooks, especially a 10" one seems like a really good candidate for a convertible touchscreen

although.....with smartphones becoming all the craze lately, they are a better candidate for GPS use. I'm kinda torn on this because i see netbooks getting huge with touchscreens, and I see smartphones getting even more popular because they are almost mini laptops (well with Android at least). They really need to improve battery life on both smartphones and netbooks though

For convertible netbooks, Asus T91 is coming out soon.. I doubt Android netbooks will be popular though. 'Smartbooks' look interesting with the Snapdragon processor.. There's a virtualbox image with Android, but it really doesn't do anything. You can check it out here: http://dev.eoghanconway.com/android...

As you can see, we have a video player on the page using <embed>. But Facebook Connect's code is rendered before it and we can't change the order (or set z-levels for the FB popup). Anything else you can think of?
- Jorge "JungleG" Escobar
try something like: .flash { position: relative; z-index: 0 }. z-index only works on positioned elements so this might do the trick. also, on the overlay, might need z-index: 1 or something like that

There is a concept called an iFrame shim that you can place over the video player (using javascript) when you know something else is going to interfere with it... http://bit.ly/2xUMl it's a pretty dirty hack but sometimes needed.

There are at least four iPhone apps for FriendFeed so far; just none of them 'official'. I've personally used amigo and BuddyFeed. They both have their pros and cons (and would be awesome if somehow combined into one app).

FFToGo continues to be the most complete for Android, although I do like the /iphone implementation, but it eats too much space on my G1. Argh!

Stage 2: Guilt. You should be doing a bunch of other "very important" stuff. And then Kol posts the funniest, coolest thing ever!

Son influyentes porque yo los he añadido de conferencias y listas que han salido. Casi todos ahí tienen los blogs más visitados por gente de habla hispana...

Ahh.. Carmen changed it to her doggie Bruno.. Check her Twitter, it probably still has the Fanta pic in it. Mona changes her profile pic every 3 hours, so just wait. :D

It's possible to use a picture of your face without using a picture of your face, Kol. Don't think for one minute I'd use a pic of my face without altering it...a lot. The Mucha style is what I used: http://morph.cs.st-andrews.ac.uk/...
