"Back in January, we brought you Steven Tyler's "Star-Spangled Banner" performance and asked how it stacked up to the worst-ever performances. (Your leading vote-getter was Roseanne's regrettable 1990 crotch-grabbing rendition.) We think we've found something even worse from tonight's Dallas-Los Angeles MLS match. Normally, we wouldn't post something that made fun of a little kid, but this particular child publicly refers to herself as a "singer-songwriter" and any kid who has that much pretension at age 11 deserves to be knocked down a few notches. (Seriously, look at her fucking website.) We actually witnessed this as it aired live, but held off (again, because it's a little kid) until enough of you emailed us about it that we're giving in. Plus, this nearly three minute long rendition really is so bad it must be heard to be believed."

OMG. I endured it, just to see. By the time she got to "the bombs bursting in air", I totally got the shiver you get when people scrape their nails across a chalkboard, and I cursed out loud.

I (finally) got to the end of "Oh, say can you see" and said to myself, "Self, if you keep going...you can never get this time back." So I stopped playing it and made this comment instead. :)

OH, maybe I should watch it muted for the crowd shots!
