I know exactly how you feel. What's a person to do? I am mad at Twitter for suspending some of my accounts. First, the accounts kept causing the password to reset, then they were suspended, all around the time of the DOS attacks. All I ever used Twitter for was to advertise my businesses, and for fun. I REALLY want this for my game pages. I currently use the static Facebook comments box. Real-time comment updates would create a much more interesting experience. Jan: yes, a lot of my behavior is to pull people from Twitter to FriendFeed to have real time converstions. Soon, thanks to Echo, I will be able to pull them to my blog instead. That will be a huge shift for me.

Daniel: Real time is all about having conversations like this one.. in real time, rather than posting a comment, then waiting for a reply as with traditional blog commenting. I was asking the same question just a couple of days ago :)

The big difference to me, is with real-time: Player 1 can be playing one of my games with the comment window visible off to the side. Player 2, playing my game somewhere else in the world makes a comment about the game. Player 1 sees that comment instantly and can respond if they like. It allows a conversation to be struck on the spot. Would work the same way with blog posts...

Can someone suggest an app that will keep two folders in sync between two macs? Or mirror one to the other? I have photos on my MacBook Pro that I would like to keep synced to my wife's Mac. does the data really need to be on both systems? If not, then a simple NAS such as a thecus YES box could be the solution for centrally storing it in the house. Copy across any files you want to take with you on your macbook.

I tried a couple these but ended up just syncing using SyncBackPro from my Windows 7 box. It's manual but easy and the files are all on there as well because of Dropbox.

You could try SugarSync for just plain file syncronization... or with a Mac, you might just want to manually drag from iPhoto to iPhoto over a network, which is pretty easy.

Sound occurs between the ear and the brain while noise occurs between the impact and the ear. Think of all the electro magnetic signals created before the radio was invented. Was there any reception? Noise = broadcast, Sound = reception. The only thing philosophical about the statement is the redefinition of the two words by modern science. Another way of understanding this riddle is as a talking point between philosophical empiricism (what you can see and measure is real) vs. idealism (everything is a projection of your own thoughts) - a very old philosophical debate between John Locke and Bishop Barkley.
