just blew some compressed air through the fan and surrounding areas. Lots of dust. Who knows. - Jim Addz No Value
I had an overheating laptop recently and dust was the culprit. A repair technician from HP had to come to our office, rip apart my computer, and remove a large dust/hairball that was trapped under the CPU/VPU fan. If your dusting with compressed air doesn't completely solve the problem, don't rule out dust that can get pinched in those difficult places. - Mitch
I'd love to take the case apart and see if I've got a dustball problem but I'm scared I might break something. - Jim Addz No Value
