I don't want to start something... but... is it unreasonable to ask for some advice regarding the future of FriendFeed now Bret is due to leave in a few months?
C'mon, now. We've been living on borrowed time for years now. This isn't going to last. The best we can hope for is that we get a bit of warning. Otherwise... 'sshhhhh! lights out!'

I don't think FF is going anywhere. This has same hype as when FB purchased it.

My gut says Bret's leaving doesn't affect the timeline (if there even is one planned, which I don't think there is) at all.
- Micah
There's probably no timeline but if they're ever considering which bits to cut, you can bet that this bit will be the bit that gets cut first.

Which is why we're all friends on FB, circled on G+, addressed everywhere else ... Right ... The important thing is finding each other and staying together, much as we love this particular corner of the interwebz, and our own private socnet is pretty sweet. Bret hasn't touched FF in a long time. My gut feel is the same as Micah's: This doesn't change anything. If Ben leaves, however....

Bret may not have touched it... But he was the only owner left... And having him as CTO secured us a bit more

The Italian community has the same questions. But yes, we're living on borrowed time since two years ago, and there has not been any evolution on the FriendFeed platform during this time, so...

I don't think anything changes if Bret leaves. If Sanjeev leaves on the other hand …
- Amit Patel
Good reminder that I might want to friend some people from here elsewhere...

Also, this makes me believe even more that I am indeed directly connected (more or less) to almost all of the English-speaking FFVerse who makes original posts here -- as opposed to having basically abandoned feeds. Unfortunately, we now have one less person at Facebook who can look at things and confirm this.

I am picturing B-Glob biking on a hamster wheel to keep it all up and running on a Raspberry Pi and a thumb drive.
