I've seen both - I'm guessing that's going to depend on whether someone's in a fixed position (seated and strapped in) or moving around, and how steady they are overall. The first generation of stuff might be pretty uneven, quality wise.

There are some really cool video stabilization algorithms out there.
- Brian Johns
If you have a camera attached to your head, and the head moves, that's what happens. :)
- Louis Gray
Take a look at this one from today, Johnny. https://plus.google.com/1005353... While I filmed this, I was also pitching to Braden, twice. Is this in the range of what you're seeing? Better? Worse?
- Louis Gray
#RANT Yes, your terms are COD but usually the tech has a piece of paper or an invoice book so we get something for our records. We're not handing over credit card or a cheque with no record. The issue is with your system, not our unwillingness to act logically and responsibly
Rep: "Yeah mate. You should have it by Monday." Me: "Oh". Him: "When did you need it for" Me: "Tomorrow night" Him: "Bad timing I guess" Me: "8 days worth, yeah"

Yes, with the whole 'posts over multiple columns higgledy-piggledy' it is pretty frenetic. Well, or you can opt for oceans of white space.

When it has more braided hair pics, then the transition will be complete.

When you say "shat on my childhood", do you mean your childhood or your rose coloured interpretation of your childhood... cause lots of things I held dear in my "childhood" turned out to be utter crap with maturity.
I can't speak for Alex, but the bootleg version I have of the original Star Wars films hold up pretty well for me. Thundercats and He-Man? Not so much.
- Jennifer Dittrich
Exactly! (and this wasn't at Alex, it's a general crowd question) ;)

I still like IV and V, and even VI is OK as long as it's not too often.
- Tinfoil 2.0
For me, the second set of SW films don't hurt my enjoyment of the original films (even though I do dislike them.) It is more the constant revising. I don't mind edits or directors or studio cuts, as long as access to the originals is maintained through their restoration process where technically feasible. I've found a way to work around their recalcitrance, but it frustrates me and colors how I view their future projects.

On a journey such as technological advancement, stopping and considering each path as they occur along the way is reasonable and responsible. The fact we're on a journey does not automatically justify going down every path.
Let's hope that the path we choose to not go down isn't the one that leads to a cure for cancer.
- Scoble, Alex Scoble
Yeah, but let's also not blindly run down that path ass-first cause it MIGHT be a cure. Many chemicals used 50 years ago that were "wonder chemicals" in disease and pest control turned out to be fucked up. Just because a technology exists doesn't mean it shouldn't be given careful and learned consideration.

Are we talking productization or research here? Because if we're talking research, I strongly disagree. There are very few avenues that should not be taken. If we're talking about productizing something based on research, sure. Not everything learned in a lab needs to be offered to the consuming public, or the military or large agribusiness.

... and not everything developed in a marketing meeting should be wrapped in the cloak of research
- Johnny

In my opinion, if marketing is involved, research is not.

How many doctors got Google Glasses?
- Johnny
from iPhone
Google Glass is not a research project. It's a product meant to be used by consumers.

What's the mental condition (other than Tourette's) that inhibits you from filtering everything you think from coming out of your mouth? That basically the pathology of a business: figure out all kinds of possible things you can do, and go ahead and do whatever will make a profit. There's not much of a filter for "*should* we do this for the good of people and society?"
- Tinfoil 2.0
Are you asking me what inhibits me from filtering everything I think? I think that's called Scobleitis.
- Scoble, Alex Scoble
Especially if we're talking about cancer, a lot of the treatments for cancer in foregone days actually turned out to cause other cancers, so, yeah, just because we can doesn't mean we should.
- Victor Ganata
When I meant "cured cancer" I meant, cured all cancers. Then again, yeah, maybe there are enough humans on this plane already. Things could get ugly quick if people stop dying from old age.
- Scoble, Alex Scoble
Well, trying to cure all cancers is akin to trying to cure all infectious disease. It's an ill-defined problem space.
- Victor Ganata
from iPhone
There is a cure for cancer, at least for many types of it. The capitalists just won't make it public, fearing they won't get millions or billions from the potential long term clients/customers/victims. Sad really.

Sorry. My wife & I don't really share a Facebook account, it's just that the iPad is connected to my Facebook account, so all of the games she plays post on my behalf. :P

Only 3 more workouts till Sunday (Beta 2)...
Then 2 days rest...
Then 28 work outs over 2 and a half weeks...
Then taper for TrailWalker...
Then TrailWalker...
Then pizza....
Pizza is the goal.
I enjoy the experience of smelling freshly cooking bread. Knowing the chemical breakdown of the odour doesn't make it smell any more or less yummy. Experience > Facts
You have a very narrow definition of augmented reality.
- Scoble, Alex Scoble
With augmented reality I can experience sexual relations without having to talk to a woman, man, or alien. Experience > Facts
- Jimminy IS Everybody
...but I thought the motivation behind Google Glass was that it was hands-free? o_O
- Tinfoil 2.0
I'd rather have a series of narrow definitions than an all encompassing one that I must accept without question.

Yeah, I'd like to have a serious conversation with people who aren't condescending, mean spirited and rude, but we can't always get what we want now, can we?
- Scoble, Alex Scoble
Tinfoil, that's what the internet of things and teledildonics is for.
- Jimminy IS Everybody
Alex, condescending yes, rude yeah, okay, but I think most of these aren't mean spirited. We like you and we aren't trying to hurt you, it's just a response to silly remarks.
- Jimminy IS Everybody
I LIKE THE FRESH BREAD WITH THE DOUBLE BRIES
- Mo Kargas
Alex, I would suggest you begin with those on your side. The reason I have such a negative reaction is due to the attitude being slathered on those who aren't true believers. Every point I have raised previously, long before your threads, have been mocked and dismissed as ill-informed and luddite. As some point, there comes a line where you aren't going to be taken seriously do you...

My side? Maybe that's where things went wrong when you thought that I was on a side.
- Scoble, Alex Scoble
Oh and if augmented reality can help you make more freshly cooked bread, faster and with greater consistency, we can all agree that that's a good thing, right?
- Scoble, Alex Scoble
Alex made me smile. I thought of my mother with her great pottery bowl of bread dough, making biscuits and bread once a week and the heavenly smell as i walked in the door from school... Then I thought of offering her Google Glasses to make it go "better" That made me LOL
- WarLord
If we can't agree to that, then yeah, I guess this is a chasm that can't easily be bridged. WarLord, I can't make bread like your mother and would love to be able to view a recipe using a device like Glass as I'm baking instead of having to constantly stop and refer back to an iPad or laptop. Color me strange that way.
