Actually, McCain pointed out that the actions of a handful of people at his rallies have been painted as the norm for his supporters. Whereas Obama is not strangely silent about the kind of mean spirited and obsessive followers he has cultivated. - Chuck The Plumber
No, Chuck the Plumber. McCain needed to clearly state that the shoutouts of "kill him" and "treason" and "terrorist" were wrong. And that he repudiated them. Instead he lied. - Karoli Hussein

"SPoston, Obama's stance on Israel is the same as it always has been -- a staunch defender. There is really no reason for any good evangelical Christian to worry at all about his stance on Israel (not to mention the fact that Israel is quite capable of defending its own bad self). Further, your concerns about Iran have been stoked by the warmongers who think it's a good idea to saber-rattle with a country that has not threatened us, or Israel in any way other than the usual stupid harsh rhetoric. If we decided to shoot at everyone who used tough words, there would be some folks at Palin rallies ducking for cover, after all." - Karoli Hussein

"It's worse than a campaign bailout. It will have zero effect on the economy. It's lipstick on a pig, for real. As a pension professional, the idea that suspending the mandatory 70 1/2 distribution requirement would somehow "prevent seniors from being forced to liquidate stocks" is absurd. By age 70 1/2 the seniors who need their pensions are receiving much larger payments than the minimum required distributions. The only people 'forced' to liquidate are the wealthy, who keep their retirement funds intact for as long as possible as an estate planning vehicle. So all the 'pension relief' does is protect the folks who least need the protection, because they can wait out the ride on the markets. Now, turning to the reduction of "capitol gains tax" (sic) that's another protection for the wealthy. If they are liquidating inside of a pension or 401k, they're not subject to capital gains tax. If they're selling personal stocks, I'm at a loss to understand why anyone would be "forced" to do so..." - Karoli Hussein

""The idea of multiple control points means more than I control my identity from multiple credential sets, it means I share control of my identity with other entities." This is what I have been saying for months. I do not have overlapping social graphs in all cases. Those I interact with in my business are not at all the same as those I interact with in the political sphere. In fact, there may be overt conflict between those two. So, when Linked In wants to take my contact list and mesh it into one single point of entry, I object. If I were able to separate the identities according to the interaction, or credential set, I would be much more inclined to buy in." - Karoli Hussein

"Nope. No hate. Angry, yes. But not hate. Nor did I call on readers to act on my words, nor did I call them nazis or other hateful things. Didn't accuse of terrorism, didn't insinuate lies with a winkie and a nod. Called truth to his dishonor, which he has traded for ambition. That's truth, not hate" - Karoli Hussein

"Excuse me, trevor. Every time someone has been rude or spoken rudely about the opponent, going back to Hillary Clinton (who at least is qualified) obama has stood up and told them to stand down. Yet your candidate not only doesn't stand up (with the exception of the walkback earlier today) he encourages surrogates and his running mate to continue the racism and lies." - Karoli Hussein

"When Governor Palin and folks like you stop trying to incite racial violence against a sitting senator and presidential candidate, I'll back down. I don't hate her, but I do hate despicable tactics. Nowhere in my post did I call for violence or hate. I simply called for Governor Palin to be responsible for her extremely irresponsible speech and actions. When did the GOP stop being the party of personal responsibility? Oh, that's right. When they're losing. Then all form of responsibility and civility is suspended." - Karoli Hussein

While you're 'preaching' to Gov. Palin from Proverbs, how about preaching to Obama from Exodus 20:13? - Thomas Ho
Any point that requires going into Exodus or Leviticus is pretty much shot. It's an admission of defeat that you couldn't find it what you were looking for in a gospel or an epistle of Paul. Unless you are a chassid, in which case , l'chaim! - Dave Slusher
Not sure you can make the correlation. obama has said he opposes abortion, but not choice. That is the correct position to take, in my opinion. And if you're going to use that passage, how does it NOT apply to McCain's warmongering? - Karoli Hussein
Hmmm, I left you a comment on FF, not sure how to pull that convo here, but would definitely like to. - Karoli Hussein
Dave: IF you insist on a Gospel, how about the Golden Rule? - Thomas Ho
Then by applying the golden rule, you should accept that my religious views that you don't believe in require you bear the burden of lifelong commitments. That's what you are asking of others. - Dave Slusher
