#Running question - Which energy gel do you recommend? I've tried Gu, which tastes great. Powerbar gel is just okay. What do you think?
My fave is Gu chocolate with caffeine. I know crazy right? - Kelly Mitchell
Gu chocolate with caffeine is my fave too. Like eating frosting! So much more yummy than chocolate Powerbar gel! - Kathy Johnson from iPhone

ran 4.02 mi on 9/16/2009 at 10:52 AM with a pace of 8'04"/mi http://nikerunning.nike.com/nikeos...
That's a pretty cool tool! Good time too! - Domingo Rogers
Thanks! Just started using my new Nike+. It also talks to you to tell you how far you've run and counts down in 100 meter segments when you're nearing your goal. I like it ;-) - Kathy Johnson

Just discovered Reqall. Anyone use it? http://www.reqall.com/
Leo is demoing it on Macbreak Weekly now :) http://live.twit.tv - Bwana ☠
Looks cool at first glance although perhaps a lot of overlap with Evernote which I already use... - Mike Bracco
More for tasks than notes, really, right Mike? I use Evernote as well. - Steve Rubel from email
Steve: Yeah it looks like Reqall is more structured to use as a task management app. It's sort of like Evernote but has a lot more structure which is good b/c the product is tailored towards being a task manager but bad in the same sense as it's not as flexible as Evernote is. The next wave will be companies proving that task structure on top of Evernote using their API. That will be really exciting to see. - Mike Bracco
Yes, I have used it and I like it a lot. - Bonnie Foster
I use it not only as my personal reminder service, but also to nudge others to remember certain things. David Pogue of NY Times wrote about it a couple of times. Here's his review (he's quite keen on it): http://www.nytimes.com/2009... - Kathy Johnson
I used to really like the combination of Remember the Milk and Jott for task management. Once Jott went pay-only, i missed the ability to add todo items by voice, but not enough to pay $13/month. Reqall, at $24/year, is much more reasonable. I do like my RTM though; and reqall doesn't appear to have the same list organization capabilities. - dave burke

Twitter followers 'can be bought' per this BBC article http://news.bbc.co.uk/2.... Is that analogous to buying media space or rigging a game?

Day 1 of this Blue Print juice cleanse and I'M STARVING!
That sounds evil... - l0ckergn0me
Hang in there, I lasted 5 days; you can too! Days 2 and 4 sucked. Felt great at the end though! - Denise Howell
6 bottles of juice, endless amounts of ginger tea, and tons of water... and I'm still starving!!! Where's a box of macaroni and cheese when you need it - Kathy Johnson
Can you explain more? - Ric Johnson
I'm doing a 2-day cleanse with http://blueprintcleanse.com/. I've never done a juice cleanse before, so I only wanted the beginner's version. I was starving all day but the last juice (a cashew nut, cinnamon, agave concoction seemed to help stave off the hunger for a bit longer than the others). Will see how I feel tomorrow - day 2 of 2. - Kathy Johnson

Facebook ads still failing. In what way does this become something I would buy? Is it for me? Am I supposed to get it for someone?
Picture 1.jpg
I agree, they are horrible. I often give these ads a "thumbs down" and I still get rubbish! - Brian
Fail. - Drew Lucas
is there something you're not telling us Louis? (Are we sure FB fails?) ;-) - zeroinfluencer
David: Have you been on FB recently? They're practically all dating ads - Nicholas James
american apparel is definitely a raunchy advertiser.. they also does nude ads. no joke. search and you will find some nsfw sites that run nsfw AA ads. - Paul Stamatiou
google ads thought for a good month last fall that I had a huge hardon for tactical surveillance gear. Parabolic mics, night vision spotting scopes..... I'm wondering who bought what with my credit card. - Matthew DeVries
Well, it did become something you shared on.. - Thomas Bøhm
I only ever see a broken image icon in Facebook ads =) Takes up a lot less space that way too. - LogEx
Nicholas - Aye, I was jesting. I avoid FB like the plague, regardless of having Friends there; there's no depth of experience on the platform - as demonstrated by the display adverts. - zeroinfluencer
Since you don't think you need one of these, am I to assume you already have one? :) - Rob La Gesse
Rob, do you think Blue is LG's colour? - zeroinfluencer
Rob, I don't yet have one. Hmmm... maybe Facebook is on to something. - Louis Gray
If I own a wall and invite everyone and anyone to come and write graffiti on it, then what have I actually got? Initially I may have an interesting collage that everyone wants to look at, but at the end of the day, when people have moved on back to quality content, in reality I just have a messy wall. Who’d want to advertise next to that? - More at http://blog.famebook.com - Jan Simmonds
I get all these dating ads and I've specifically selected I'm no on FB for dating, utter useless. Get the targets right it might work but I tend to ignore ads. - Kol Tregaskes
Nearly every ad I get from Facebook for a local business is in San Francisco. I live in Seattle. I haven't lived in the Bay Area since before I joined Facebook. I've been conducting a little experiment lately, giving a thumbs down to every ad from a business in California, marking them as irrelevant. I have yet to get an ad for a business in Seattle. Their ad system isn't just bad, it's horrendously and completely broken. - Kevin Pedraja
Kevin - I think (i know) it has to do with WHO places the ads too. - zeroinfluencer
David: What do you mean? Are local advertisers asking for their ads to be shown to people who live 900 miles away? I don't think I'd want to pay for those clicks if it were me... And how hard is it for Facebook to look at my home address and serve me ads that at least have a slight chance of being relevant. (Sorry, this has been annoying me for a while now... ;)) - Kevin Pedraja
Facebook need to charge a $1 a year the ads are hopeless - Thomas Power
That's a good point Thomas - 23 million users? It can't be more than 23 million dollars to run that thing - Matthew DeVries
Looks like she's sitting on the loo... - Kathy Johnson
I didn't even know there were ads on Facebook. I've only ever used it with Firefox and ABP. Apparently it works pretty well. - Kenton
Wow, that ad is so bad, I'd think it was a competitor of theirs running it. wtf? - Don MacAskill

I signed up for MySpace years ago and never used it so they closed my acct. But suddenly I keep getting emails from them to lure me back
Too funny! Oh, oh, I'm in the same boat, wondering if they'll shut me down (then lure me back!) - JD Lasica
Man, I must have been a total loser - they shut me down pretty quickly from what I recall. You obviously pull a lot more rank! - Kathy Johnson

Robert Scoble
Davos, World Economic Forum, #davos #wef is next week. What do you want me to bring you back? Discuss:
http://friendfeed.com/rooms... I built a room to track all Davos news. But who would you like me to interview? What would you like to learn? This is one of the world's most exclusive conferences. Very hard to get into and lots of the world's richest and most powerful are there. - Robert Scoble
Zuckerberg interview - Tim Beyers from twhirl
My videos from last year: http://scobleizer.com/2008... and http://scobleizer.com/2008... -- what can I do better this year? - Robert Scoble
How about some Swiss chocolate ;-) - Alexander van Elsas
Alexander: last year I tried to bring you some home but I ate it on the plane. :-) Tim: Zuckerberg interview would be most cool. Agreed. But I gotta tell him off for kicking more people off of the service first. Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook's COO, will be there too. She's one of the smartest people in the industry. Facebook is definitely the "good news" story of 2009 so far. - Robert Scoble
A 25-point (foolproof) plan that'll sort out the entire global economic crisis, and a six-pack of Grolsch :) - Patrick Jordan
I lost a glove there last summer. It was in cafe by a lake, which should really narrow it down :-) I really liked that glove so if you find it please let me know. - Todd Hoff
Will the US or Europe have the first exits? or the most? When and why? - Kathy Johnson
Patrick: Give a trillion dollars to new startups. Electrify all American cars within 15 years. Build 40 nuclear plants. Upgrade our power grid. Put broadband into every American home. That's five and do you see the problem already? Too controversial. Will never get passed. - Robert Scoble
Great to have you there. I think perspective on opportunities to work across borders to help each other overcome the current economic gaps would be prudent. Is there an opportunity to reduce redundancy, while still building strong competitive offerings, and use this shared knowledge and flow to expedite profitability. Narrow this down on the technology sector perhaps, although I think we already do it reasonably well. Too high level? - Ben Watson
A Rolex. Davos is nice. You'll find a watch dealer... - Håkan Dahlström
The US and some other countries are deep in debt. China and others are buying debt and equity and resources. Which nations do you perceive to be rising in power and influence with true economic strength behind them? - Greg Griffith
I'd love to hear what people think about venture capital, M & A, IPO mkts. Are they just hibernating or are they dead? - Dave Hodson
Allright, I'll settle for two sixes of Grolsch then :) - Patrick Jordan
How about asking them to make the world a better place by heavy investments in green technology, instead of burning our economy to hell with oil. It's a matter of political will and standing up against the oil lobby. I wonder who has the balls to do that. PS. if you pass by Amsterdam, let me know and I will pick up the chocolate and buy you a beer ;-) - Alexander van Elsas
@Scoble - the nuclear question would be a good one. Solar/wind are great, but people need to get real about electricity generation. - Dave Hodson
You could bring me back an invite for next years WEF! - Marshall Huwe
Wow maybe you can interview Merkle or The French Prez to see where their heads are at regarding the restructuring of the Global Economic system they keep talking about. - Larry Lewis
Request Obama to re-vitalise the USA /World economy, and solve the war problems-hiro bachani- http://www.merlin-me.com- Merlin Gadgets that even geeks rave about- http://www.sufi-masters.com - hiro
more money for science, technology, and startups ... only way to improve productivity and create more jobs ... - mitultiwari
How about a bushel of Economic Renewal, and make it a double! - Canyon R
Robert, ask about corporate responsibility. From UBS, to Citigroup, to Apple, we're experiencing more and more corporate irresponsibility than ever before. What Sarbanes-Oxley was supposed to fix hasn't changed anything. What are global leaders going to do to hold corporations responsible for the decisions they make? (Answer can't be current default of "bail them out") - Morgan
I would want to hear if corporate leaders have learned not listen to the investment bankers. Just because you can do something is no reason just to do it. - Charles Alden
Ask the titans of industry how they intend to measure risk in the future - accurately. Also, what kind of regulation would be best to discourage excessive risk-taking while not throttling growth or innovation overly much? - Doug Alexander from twhirl
Please, ask every single interviewee if they see an alternative to a money economy. Not communicated central planning of course, but something totally new, based on the latest information technology (and social media of course!). I think we can do better than our age-old money economy. Money, interest and banks were invented FAR before electricity, the telephone and the internet. We have just "patched" an old system. It's the same old system, but running at light speed. We can do better. - Meryn Stol
I'd be curious to hear if there is a trend towards 'deglobalization' because of the economic crisis - will leaders focus inwards for economic investments, innovation, infrastructure? - Donna K. Kidwell
Ask them to comment on 1. food distribution (we have enough food to go around.) and 2. smart energy use. How to get people to WANT to consume & waste less. - Dana Dowell
a video interview with Tariq and a demo video of Jolicloud. I am sure you will like it ;) - Sascha Pallenberg
Here is a question that I'd like thoughtful answers to from the rich and powerful: "Change of every sort (climate, political, economic, technological, environmental, social) is happening at faster pace every day. Do you view this as a threat or an opportunity? How are you dealing with the accelerating pace of change both on a policy or strategic level, and on a personal one?" - Michael R. Bernstein
I think at any major event you need to be focused on bringing back the important things....like freebies - Duncan Riley
After they answer my first question, if they don't bring up this topic themselves, ask what ideas they have for making local, regional, and global systems, institutions, and infrastructure more *resilient* in the face of unanticipated changes. - Michael R. Bernstein
Bring us the head of Rupert Murdoch - paul mooney
One historic breakthrough begets others. American women need to make progress and we can only do this with collective willpower, disruptive innovation, global respect and trust in our credibility. Who will help us to gain equity? Phyllis Shabad - Phyllis Shabad
A Lanyard please. For my badge (University). I have one from IBM, but thats not cool anymore. Davos, TED and successful tech startups are cool again and 'wear-worthy'. Send me an email to.michaeljung -at//- gmail.com And I give u my address. Postage from Switzerland to UK is about 2 CHF. BTW: Swiss postal service has a nice virtual post office http://www.post.ch/de... - Michael Jung
How we drive local economic development for positive change at mass scale. I am working to mobilize community towards green infrastructure and green civic engagement with an engagement serics called Change SF. http://www.consciousrevolutionnow.com/change-.... Interested to see how corporations, vc, philanthropy, non-profits, local and national govt. can amplify and accelerate the deployments of solutions we have today in collaboration with the grass roots movements. - James Hanusa
Sascha: Tariq has already given me a demo of that, and I agree, I can't wait to use it. To everyone else, these are great questions. Thank you! - Robert Scoble
Response from world leaders to the following (prompted by Davos Question) "Why don't corporations and company executives have a code of ethics similar to doctors and lawyers?' and "How can code of conduct be enforced to avoid corporate scandal (Madoff) and/or collapse of firms (ie Lehman Bros) in the future? thank you and Have fun... lucky dog. - SuSaw
Does western 19th Century Industrial Era Free Market Capitalism still equate to the Only One Way Jesus and does Everything Else Socialism still equate to Devil Worshipping Terorrism? Or can we get past superstitions to new sustainable Mixed Economies http://tr.im/cfzz that make more sense in the context of accelerating changes hurtling us toward the 22nd century? http://tr.im/newcapitalism Sans hyperbole for CNBC's sake, of course; but always a bit more colorful to make the initial point, don't you think? - michael silverton

I've noticed in the last few years that birds are much more social with humans. Not just pigeons, but when I'm mowing my lawn, blackbirds and sparrows land right next to me and don't seem at all concerned with me. I'll take my camera out next time to prove it. Anyway, that's what this photo triggered in my mind. I know, weird thoughts. - Eric Thompson
Now that you mention it, I've noticed that too (not just with hungry pigeons!). Sometimes the sparrows will stare me down when I got out to load up the feeders. Demanding little things ;-) - Kathy Johnson

Riley update - blood count back to normal. If he keeps water down, they'll send him home tomorrow. House is so quiet without him now
How old is Riley? - Daniel De Luca from twhirl
He'll be 10 in December. This was the first time he's had anything serious happen, but he's home now and acting normal like before. Man, it was a hard weekend...! - Kathy Johnson

The Women Gamers panelists say they get online to play casual games before even having coffee. They play 2-3 hrs/morning
That's amazing, I wish I had this time for non-work activities. Though if I had it, I would have used it otherwise. - Svetlana Gladkova
How was the Women Gamers panel recruited? - Sally done with 2009
To recruit the women gamers, we posted an entry on King.com's blog an had a flood of responses within minutes. One of our selected women gamers got stuck in traffic enroute to the event, so we asked the 71 year old mom of another one of our panelists to fill in. Couldn't believe she was an avid gamer too. She told us her arm sometimes cramps up when she plays because she gets into it so much (and wants to win!). - Kathy Johnson

I'd love to shoot inside the museum. do they allow photography? - Thomas Hawk
Thomas: according to one of my flickr contacts who worked there, they allow photography except inside the exhibition galleries. I have not been inside it yet, so I'm not sure how much of the interior this excludes from photography. - Jeremy Brooks

I wish doctors used email to communicate to patients... Instead, I'm stuck hovering over my phone all day.
we just need a better way of moving messages from your phone to your email and back. If people did not freak out when they got an automated message on their phone that you emailed and a computer read out loud this might even work. thoughts? - Stefan Hayden
Thanks Chris for sending your article. Dominic and I were just wondering if there were any resources on the Internet to make medical records / hospitals / doctors ,etc. more understandable, accessible and transparent. We just found out my doctor now isn't in the insurance plan we spent months trying to sort out and I've got a surgery already scheduled with him so this will be a real challenge. Knowing how easy it is in the UK makes it that much more frustrating dealing with the ineptitude here. - Kathy Johnson
