Here is a pict of him w/ his Univ of KY Engineering Team Solar Car.The team raced it last summer from Texas to Canada. He is over in Germany now on an engineering scholarship to study solar technology and how it can be used in the future. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_3w-gzk...
Just read a bunch of posts here on Friend Feed. My overall impression is that this is a very critical, cynical group here. The threading style is competitive and posters strive to outdo that last guy's post in being even more cynical and critical. See? I caught the negativity disease just by breathing in the fumes...
I wouldn't say that - as Robert says, it depends who you follow.
- Rich
Yes Friendfeed is Usenet, webforums and any other internet discussion platform you can think of on steroids. As they say up there, it depends who you follow. It's mostly harmless.
- Gilbert Harding
Yep. FF is not Usenet on steroids, but Usenet on alcohol.
- Brome
I wouldn't go so far as to say that my overall impression agrees entirely with the original poster's but I definitely see where Kay is coming from.
- Mark H
I think you're following the wrong people. I don't see anything like what you're describing, and I'm here to some degree most of the time.
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
Please don't yell at me, Kay Designer. I'm new here and cry easily.
- Christopher Harley
i don't see that either...compared to places like Digg - FriendFeed is so...um friendly
- Anthony Feint
A statement like that pops up on friendfeed quite often. I think people are still too used to the passive web and forget how much control they have over what comes into their browsers.
- Slippy "Threadsbane" Lane
I think you just reading the wrong people; most on my list are good natured considerate people

If you see any real dillholes, just remember that the block feature is your friend.
- Alex Scoble
Kay: It looks like your only "Comment" is on a Robert Scoble thread discussing Twitter spam/follower gaming: http://friendfeed.com/scoblei... There's certainly a ton of cynicism related to and criticism of Twitter, but are you seeing that spill over into other areas as well?
- Ken Sheppardson
yes, it´s usually full of love! and wonderful treats for eyes, ears & brains. welcome to the bright side, kay :)

Hello, Kay. It looks like you missed our frequent memes here, such as the last one where buff dudes took their tops off for the ladies and some of the boys here. Much LOLz and little negativity. Cast your net further afield, Kay, and you will find positive energy galore. :)
- Steven Perez
You get all kinds on FriendFeed just like on Twitter. I'm usually quiet and only have something to say when I get emotional about a subject. Unfortunately it my be when I disagree.
- John Wallace
from BuddyFeed
Steven - "buff dudes" might be a LEETLE strong...I mean, except in your case, of course... (did I save that in time? *whew*)
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
Did I say "buff"? I meant "godlike in a totally nerdy way". :D

this comment is way better than those of the losers that came before this comment
- @baratunde
Wouldn't this experiment depend on who your friends and the folks you follow on flickr are? Or is every friendfeed user interchangeable?
- Paula W
From KayDesigner: It was just first impression based upon my first wanderings about. I didn't have any selections yet, and poop tends to float to the top. Had been listening to people complain all week on Twitter and got over here and was hearing the same. I was trying to laugh it off. But dont worry! Since then I have been diving deeper... there are alot of diamonds hidden in the hills here! :-) Thanks everyone!
- Kay Designer
Yeah it's who you follow - if you read something interesting/nice/cool from someone, subscribe. Grow slowly!
- anna sauce
Kay, I've not seen this this much at all and I've been using the service for over a year. As per you last comment above yes dig a bit more you should find FFers are great. :-)
- Kol Tregaskes
I welcome critical and cynical people. This means they will question what I say. Lots of times, I learn something new. I'm also impressed by the well-thought-out responses from my contacts here. Thus, from a position of respect for them, I welcome the cynicism.
- Mike Reynolds
I am eyeing this one to buy for my next home computer... I especially like that Wheel.

Uh oh. Spread a weed and now I wake up to REALLY big weed, complete with some dandelion blossoms. I was going to yank this comment I made last night, out this morning, but it has already grown and flowered. Sorry! Now what do I do? Go get a really big shovel and great big wheel barrow?
I have seen this online tech development cycle go around and around, every 5 years, starting with my time at QUBE - the First Interactive TV station, that was going to change the world. So why complain? Tech Dev is ongoing...
Sadly, my talent died of malnutrition and was eaten by my ego.

I did some concept design for a Museum once. Stored in their warehouse, they had a Alligator and Snake that had sort of eaten each other... Ohh man, Never mind. Just too hard to describe.
