Good points. Is the real time web really good for the truth? Maybe not.

I'm skeptical of real-time web that *rises* during a crisis. (Unfortunately, and understandably, in these early times, this is almost always the case.) The medium (RT web in this case) has to pre-exist and has to have a proven record before being trustworthy. For example, if it was about a US incident, I'd know who's tweets to trust.

There is a difference between reporting and analysis/journalism. There is a difference between reporting an event and understanding what it means in the context of numerous other reports. This is akin to saying "it's cold here this summer, so global warming is false."

I have been feeling the same thing over the past few days about the Iranian Election... Twitter has been great in getting information out but how much is rumor and how much is fact. It's not a new problem though, when it comes to things from the Internet.
