This is a friend of mine playing a tune by The Beatles, solo and live with no sequencing. He's playing a 7-string bass/guitar hybrid (bottom 3 strings = bass / top 4 = guitar). The guitar also has some electronic drum pads mounted on it for fills and accents.

This is a mostly-finished dancey-dubby-wankfest I created for the RPM Challenge. Probably needs adjustments to the mix at the very least. Any other suggestions?
Thanks! This was recorded completely in Logic Pro. One of the software synths was from Native Instruments' free Kore Player. The vocal samples were bits of "interval signals" used by a few different radio stations from around the world.

I sense an Alan Wilder Vibe. Is he an influence? Like it.

Tune #4 completed for this year's RPM Challenge. I came up with the initial rhythmic riff on my bass, then looped it to create the basis for this track. Then, I layered another "lead" bass track on top of that, added some percussion, and finally topped it off with an electric piano-ish sound that mostly plays in unison with the lead line.
Nice, mellow. Waiting for it to evolve more though. I like the ambience.

i'm totally gonna sneak onto your tour bus with my old Galileo's Cough Drop LPs during the encore so i can get the drop on you while you're alone and then demand you autograph all of them.

on a more serious note: dang, dude. moody and gorgeous. i'm not sure what i would change about it other than to have some more changes in the instrumentation come and go for variety's sake.

Thanks for the feedback! I felt like it might need something more, but wasn't sure. I'll have to think about some other ways to evolve it. In the spirit of an ambient tune, I wanted to keep it pretty minimal... maintaining enough interest to keep the listener from wandering off too far, but not requiring them to devote all their attention to it.

Here's another tune for this year's RPM Challenge. It was mainly an excuse to use a marimba sample and an analog synthy sound from my Roland Juno-106.
"A team of MIT physicists has developed a system that can wirelessly transfer power to multiple electronic devices simultaneously with high efficiency. The system takes advantage of electromagnetic resonance coupling, and could be implemented by embedding a large copper coil in the wall or ceiling of a room. Somewhat surprisingly, the physicists found that the overall efficiency of powering multiple devices can be significantly higher than the efficiency of powering each device by itself, as long as the system is properly tuned."
