National Library of New Zealand does. i don't work there anymore, but it seemed useful to have an informal way to communicate with people. i liked that i had a way to start talking to folks that i didn't cross paths with through my job. they are moving from one building to a bunch of locations for awhile, as the building is refurbished and leaks are fixed. i reckon yammer could be used more as people won't have a chance to casually chat in the lunch room. - tara

i can't imagine it as a replacement for email, it's the same types of conversations that you would have on twitter. someone live-yammed a management meeting to introduce staff to hashtags. it was useful and made the management meetings more transparent. the comms team had a minor freakout, as the yams (gosh that sounds sillier than tweets) could be requested in a Freedom of Information request. - tara
