How do you expect someone to take into account all the different combinations of NIC and HBA types while also taking into account vSphere licensing and vSwitch vs vNetwork Distributed Switch. You're literally talking 100s of different designs. This was meant to be a guide in helping people think about architecting their own, not a complete guide. My comment about not knowing "jack about HP" was referring specifically to the HP FlexFabric solution. I focus on FCoE based on UCS, therefore, I'm not at liberty to talk about that particular technology. So really, I'm presenting a fair and full explanation about the technology that I know.
