Actually the Genuis was very cool, and hooked me up for the repair. Could have the system back by tomorrow.
We have reached MTBF sooner that Apple had foreseen. I guess when you run a system that hard it's bound to happen. Hence, AppleCare good!
My Macbook died today (looks to be a bad hard drive), and today is also the last day of AppleCare on the system. Perfect timing!
@chrisesch I'm in CA. I guess I could have waited an hour more for drama, but then I couldn't have helped the Guines with a problem. ;)

Targeting Cancer Cells with Nanoparticles - http://hplusmagazine.com/article...
Scientists from the University of Chicago and the US Department of Energy have developed the first nanoparticles that seek out and destroy GMB brain cancer cells. Nanoparticles killed up to 80% of the brain cancer cells after just five minutes of exposure to white light, showing the promise of nanomedicine — highly-specific intervention at the molecular scale. - Kenji Kato

Snow Leopard Services in practice: Amazon S3 uploader - http://www.tuaw.com/2009...
The S3 Upload Service by August Lilleaas is available as a workflow which can be opened in Automator, so you can examine its inner workings. It uses AppleScript and Ruby, easily passed back and forth thanks to Automator's building-block-style workflow. It lets you upload a publicly-accessible file to an S3 bucket, and copies the URL into your clipboard upon successful upload. - Kenji Kato
Enough playing with Snow Leopard for now, going back to sleep. Still feeling effects of swine flu (day 10).
FYI, you need to install Rosetta (optional install) with Snow Leopard to get older apps (Adobe CS2) to work.
Just tried Adobe CS2 and CS3 (still use bits from both not found in CS4) with Snow Leopard, and they seem to run thus far.
#QuickTime Player in Snow Leopard feels like Apple took QT from the iPhone and stuck it in the Mac OS. Glossy simple with less functionality
At least Apple didn't kill #QuickTime 7 Player. It was moved into Utilities, & can be reinstalled from Snow Leopard Optional Installs
As a #QuickTime power user can I just say that I HATE the new QT Player in Snow Leopard! Apple what have you done! :(
It's a bit old but this is the coolest video tech I've seen in a long time. I hope it makes it in a product http://vimeo.com/2345579
