"I'd really love to know what's going on here. Another example I didn't mention in the post: I got a sign up confirmation from Redbox. I called them and asked if the person was pretending to be me, and they said no- it was another name, address, etc. I think these folks somehow signed up for Gmail under the same email name."

"I've had spammers spoof my email address, but what's weird in this case is that some of these people seem to be actually using my same email address for legitimate purposes. I'm wondering if somehow Google gave more than one person the same address."

"But even then, isn't your + content associated with your other Gmail email address, which if you're like me, you don't use? I had a lot of flow via Buzz when it first came out, but it was all enveloped in my regular Gmail account."

"Agreed. While my results have been mixed as far as sound quality goes, some of the music bloggers that focus on out of print music have figured out a way to do really good rips from LPs. I assume they do a multi-step process, including a noise reduction step, but whatever they do results in a really good result."

"I read the first Deathlands, and liked it OK. Gave up after that. I just found and bought False Dawn, by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro. It's on deck, for the sad day when I finish the Game of Thrones series."

"Crazy thing is, I think Wave was just before its time. I think there is a place for Wave. I didn't think so when it first came out. It's hard to explain why some things take off and some don't. But as far as potential usefulness goes, I'd rank Wave pretty high. Google tends to toss thing on the wall, and then let them stick or fall. I wish Wave- and Notebook- had stuck longer."

"I get that. My company is still using XP, and says they might upgrade to W7 next year. But Google is (or should) positioning itself as the newer, better IT solution. Shouldn't they at least give Admins the option of adding this stuff sooner?"

"I like the ported experience, but dialing out is a little kludgy. I wish it could work with the native dialer, but I suppose Google will have to be a carrier for that to happen."

"@e55ab56cf75734f7bbe49d631e524aa8:disqus , I still feel about the same way. Outbound calling is clearly the weak link. I disabled call screening so I can use the bluetooth in my truck. All in all, I am glad I ported my number, particularly since even had I not, I would still use a lot of the GV features. The problem with Google is that you never know what services it will actively improve and which ones (e.g., Buzz), it will toss out there and forget about. I like GV OK now, but I would love it with a few improvements."

"I'm almost completely uninterested in WFU hoops these days. I haven't watched any of the last few games, and have no plans to do so unless and until I believe that Wellman et al are really trying to build a great program. I think middle of the pack is probably acceptable to them (though they would NEVER admit it publicly), but that's not enough to get me to spend my free time watching games."

"Yeah, with a few tweaks Android could be a real challenger to iOS. But they really need to make the email experience more elegant and reliable. You'd think that would be job number 1, but it still needs a lot of work. I hope Honeycomb isn't just about being prettier. I hope they worked just as hard under the hood."
