unfortunately not. Apple doesn't provide details on who bought and who didn't. No way to PROVE someone bought :(

I think it's reasonable to refund someone if they're dissatisfied, or bought something 1 day and the next it was free.

They turn it free so that they can give it away to MORE people! Also, it's hard to make money on the App Store.

Well, I gauge it by how they ask me. So, if they say "Your app looks really interesting! I want to check it out" then I will

I just want to make sure that when I give out 50 codes, that MOST of them are redeemed. It's strange how many go unused.

You're definitely right! Anyone could be a reviewer, even for their blog.

Wouldn't hurt to ask them kindly! They might refund you via PayPal. Especially if they're now making money from ads in the app

So what I'm saying is, out of 75 codes I gave out, at least 30 went UNREDEEMED! This means 30 ppl who did want it didnt get it

No, they expire even after giving out. If I give you a code today, 1-2 months later it's expired if you haven't used it.

But if they say "gimmie code now!" then I wait :)

For example, you can't buy a car, then go back 6 months later when the sale price hits, and say "Give me a refund"

I would rather the codes got into the hands of people that really want/need it!

That's all I'm saying. Which is why I was asking you why they'd give it to *you*... I thought perhaps you might be a reviewer.

There are some good app sites that let you know when apps go free. AppBargain, etc.

But they aren't doing it to piss off their paid customers! Many will offer refund back via paypal!

I've had to turn ppl away because I ran out of codes. Then they're mad. Then I find out some of the codes were never used!

And promo codes expire, you know. And there's no way to track WHICH codes were used, and which weren't! So I can't regive.

But, I won't give a refund after a long time. It needs to be in a reasonable time frame.

No really, a lot of ppl ask for codes and then never use the app. They want it just because it's free, not cuz they like it.

Nicer than me? You never even asked me for a code. How do you know I wouldn't have given you one?

As an iPhone app dev myself, I can't imagine anyone giving you a promo code just because you asked for it.
