This is not about going back. This is about life being ahead of you and you run at it! Because you never know how far you can run unless you run.

That's where, for me, I had my first foocamp experience. Eating apples with the founders of ICQ, founders of Google, my son Patrick, and Tim O'Reilly are among the highlights of my life.
- Robert Scoble
i was asking qualitatively. Larry a highlight for me as well. Sergey, not so much. Note similarities to recent LeWeb Arrington vote. But just my own experience maybe. :-)
- michael silverton
Oh, I agree. If I had a chance I'd pick Larry over Sergey. Larry is easier to talk with and is more of a guy you'd like to have a beer with. Sergey is more difficult to get to know. Reminds me of Bill Gates in that regard.

Funny thing. My son, Patrick, just could not care that he met the two founders of Google. I told him "in 20 years you will care." Now he says "I guess it's sort of cool" but he also admitted that he doesn't remember much of it. I love that he was so pure that he wasn't affected by celebrity or all that.

Gates/Buffet ... Brin/Page ... hmmm ... guess I need to find me a Gates or Brin to come out the Good Guy. Always back to basics -- "compared to what." :-)
- michael silverton
The kitchen, what a good idea! This is an opportunity to meet (& meat?) some of the animals figuring on O'Reilly's book covers. Huh.. I'd recommend you to avoid the web in a nutshell ;)
- Thierry R. Andriamirado
I hope he provides you with some food for thought.

shel, you're so funny! Theirry: hmmm, I gotta figure out what my favorite cover is. Thanks for reminding me to check that out.

Tim O'Reilly is one of my most admired tech leaders... what a fabulous opportunity to meet up with him (again). Tim is uber smart and has turned the geek juice up another level lately, as evidenced by his tweets which cover a broader range of topics now...very interesting shift. Congrats on the history with Tim, Google et al.... very cool for you indeed (cool career you have!)

Robert - why the KITCHEN??? you like apples right? ;)
- Susan Beebe
Look forward to his continuing thoughts on Twitter ala Kawasaki

Susan: the kitchen is where we started our foo camp experience. What did we find there? Some really bad pizza and a box of apples. So, all of us were eating apples that first evening.
