Isn't it weird how many Internet startups try to come up with names that sound like "Yahoo" or "Google"? A nonstarter for me. - Sean McBride
tried this. not good if you're trying to determine which neighborhood in a specific city you want to live in - eg. where the hipsters live. may be ok if you're looking to move cross country + aren't familiar with a city + its suburbs. - Kevin Gough
How many times have I seen pregnant man stories now? Even a supposed documentary... All turned out to be bogus. I nearly ignored this before checking the date. Yet despite apparently being real, it's not really a big story... he was born female. - Tanath
If "he" wasn't born a man, it doesn't count in my book. And men just don't have the physical stuff needed to support a baby, so even with some huge leap in technology in the future, even if it happened, whoever carried the baby wouldn't actually or technically be a "man". - The Kid

I've always been curious about people who support impeaching bush -- aren't you concerned at all that it would essentially lead directly to a McCain presidency? Wouldn't it be cutting off your nose to spite your face? - david hammer
I believe the idea is to impeach both Bush and Cheney, and so essentially lead directly to a Nancy Pelosi presidency. - Tudor Bosman
Right, but by the time Bush and Cheney were impeached, tried, and (hypothetically) convicted it would be at least November 2008, if not later, so the gesture is purely symbolic. In the meantime, such a strategy would almost certainly make independents substantially more likely to break for McCain, which would be a problem in such a tight race. - david hammer
Constitution before party. If it becomes routine to violate the constitution, the country is fucked whether Dems or GOP rule. Also: why is it conventional wisdom that impeachment of Bush leads to a GOP victory? In the two historical precedents, the party of the impeached president lost big time in the following election. - Neil Kandalgaonkar
The first point is hard to argue with -- I'm just inquiring as to the pragmatic aspects. As to the second point, Dems gained big in the '98 election almost certainly because of impeachment (see wikipedia). Either way, though, it's a small sample size -- more to the point, I can't envision the profile of the voter who wouldn't be voting for Obama unless Bush was impeached. I can easily see the centrist-types who would decide the Dems are deranged and choose not to vote for a democrat. - david hammer
That's a good point re: '98, but remember, the Republicans were prosecuting a much-loved president. Also, except for the GOP base, few people thought the case had any merit. Voter revenge was predictable. Bush's approval ratings are among the lowest ever recorded, and Cheney's are lower still. If the impeachment was conducted honorably, I think that most voters might approve. - Neil Kandalgaonkar
One last point and then I'm done :) Even with Bush's low approval ratings, nearly every poll on the matter, no matter how optimistically phrased (i.e. if X were true, and Y were true, could you maybe support impeachment) shows a definite majority of the country still opposes impeachment. Again, this isn't to say impeachment is justified or not, just that there's some real evidence to suggest voters might not approve of even an honorably-conducted impeachment. - david hammer
