Is there now a FF-Effect? Such as the Digg-Effect...

When is this gong to get made...I do trips all the time for work and reciepts...they drive me....crazzziziziiziiz
- Gebadia Smith
Couldn't this just be done with a smart phone and some OCR? Is a specific device really needed?
- Daniele Castagna
Agreed, Daniele...this is a phone app waiting to be developed.
- Kim Mahan
It could be a web app, where you upload your receipts as photos. That would be really useful, because it would mean also to have many data about prices, and you surely know better then me how many cool things you could do with all that data. ;)

what's the difference between this and Mint?
- Paul Whitaker
Rudder is good at telling you one thing. How much you have available to spend, minus your obligations, via email.
- Sean Oliver
big fan of rudder. use mint as well but this gives you heads-up data, practical, digestible data on a daily basis. something mint has yet to master. often, e-mail and text updates are about a week late for mint when i can see up-to-date activity on my important accounts w/ rudder on a daily basis.
- john ratcliffe-lee
There is an alternative that is not US only?
- Marcos
I stopped using Mint. I like the simplicity of Rudder. My Spendmeter and What's Left widgets don't work though. Waiting for tech support.

I am always skeptical about online financial services consolidator. How does one know it is safe?
- Vinko
Thanks for sharing, I'll check it out. Have been piloting a new service at http://justthrive.com. Wondering who is going to hit the virtual financial advisor nail on the head first!
- Kim Mahan
m supports Facebook, MySpace, Hi5, MSN Messenger, Orkut, and YouTube. While there is certainly some overlap between those services, Power.com will become much more valuable when it adds LinkedIn, Twitter, Flickr, Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, AOL, and Skype, all of which are expected to be added soon. Ultimately, you end up with a combination of an aggregation service like FriendFeed, a multi-protocol IM tool like Meebo, and an all-in-one email ap

It came with a stylus, which were easy to lose. I ended up buying a packet of six, and over time I think lost those. I can't remember what I did with the phone itself. When I was on a GSM network, I used to sell the old ones when I got an upgrade, after I'd unlocked them. I always made a small profit.

A free alternative to Roboform, and extremely user friendly than Keepass. Works both in Firefox and IE. Syncs across different computers and platforms.

LastPass is the only one that met my needs. Synch across multiple computers and usable in both FF and IE. I've been using it for awhile and love it.
- Keith (aka Tsudohnimh)
Lastpass has replaced 1Password and Roboform. Whatever I save here at home is immediately usable at work. No more silly synchronization. Just needs an iPhone version and it'll be complete.
- Ernie Oporto
It's a single point of failure. I prefer to at least maintain the illusion of having multiple passwords. To get around the minimum password length, I make macros with AutoHotKey.

Thanks, glad you guys enjoyed it. I almost did it over, but I guess it will serve to remind me exactly how I felt. Maybe others who don't really get it, will. I definitely didn't get it until a few hours ago.
- Rahsheen ™
serious, that made me well up man. i'm gonna have to go shave with a cheese grater just to help me feel tough again. thanks

Solid Man, Awesome statements and an exciting view on this next Government this next experience for the next 4 years. Thanks for opening your heart and sharing with the people at large and its the attitude that just rocked this video and it is definitely real.

Word. And you get to check that box next to role model already.

If there was ever a time for a grown man to well up or get the sniffles, I think this is as good as any. I'm about to go hit the weights, though :)

awesome bro, seriously and I couldn't agree more.

Damn, hard to watch this without tearing up myself. Good stuff. Oh and you need to replace your smoke alarm battery. Just sayin'! Awesome finish btw. Just awesome.

This matches everything I'm hearing from around the economy. People are attacking me for being too negative, but they don't provide any evidence of why I'm too negative.
- Robert Scoble
The Japan slide is interesting... a comparison I haven't seen
- Kim Mahan
Robert, I don't think you are being too negative and personally believe we are in for a long and rough ride ahead. But you're right, Americans prefer positivity, they don't want to hear that.
- Sally Church
I don't see what is so wrong with what they are saying, so why hate you?
- Dan Morrill AKA Techwag
I can feel it tingling. That means it is working.

With editing skills like this, this guy could work for Micheal Moore
- Robert Hafer
that was crappy incendiary journalism - I'd be embarrassed to publish this let alone like it. The interviewer should ask about the issues to get real discourse.
- David
definitely scary times. racism and insinuation of terrorism are not the way to conduct a meaningful campaign. that would be expecting to much in this country. :(
- Eddie Codel
I have my doubts as to whether individuals like this could engage in real discourse. You have them on both sides, of course, but the Muslim bit is really over the top.
- Cyndy
The first time they heard of Obama or Palin is beside the point. Now that they have heard from both Obama & Palin and they're still voting for Palin, thats what scares me...err wait a second... shoulnd't we be discussing Obama and McCain, or is that just a losing battle for Repubs?
- Greg
Seriously, can't we all just get along? I mean, c'mon!

Isn't she the proprietor of Wasilla MethLab & Bible Book Store?

I saw this video this afternoon and then the lady comments on a Plurk post of mine of all things! She's mamawise on Plurk, so the shame goes on. She had not seen the video evidently until I reminded her and I can only imagine the look on her face then:)
- Roney Smith
Roney, you are assuming that she is actually intelligent enough to be ashamed. I doubt it.
- ld
These people are worthless but the journalism is pretty awful as well. It's not like you need to act like Moore to get this type of scum to come out with something shockingly ignorant..
- Alexander Carlill
Very interesting.Still scary thinking that many of us will give up this info (and our privacy) without a second thought
- Kim Mahan
Right you are, Kim. The greatest enemies of our privacy are the dancing pigs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki...) and since web became 2.0, their dance became a coordinated Vegas spectacle.

I registered with Brightkite - not sure why.
- Russellreno
i use brightkite, but i'm careful as to what i enter. sometimes i get specific, sometimes i use an intersection, others i just use a zip code.
- Anika Malone
I did brightkite as well. But somehow these apps creep me out. I don't want people to know where I am every minute of my life. And who really cares?

I had beer too early in the day, and I ran out of toilet paper, and I don't have any fun plans tonight, and I'm sick anyways and I watched all of my House episodes wah wah wah wah

I am having a beer now, I have plenty of toilet paper, I almost never watch TV, and I'm kicking back listening to music.

Hi Mona (waves wanly) hey Yolanda. Hi guys.
- anna
No TP? You need to Amazon subscribe to that sorta thing =P
- Geoff Schultz
anna, that one epic seesmic you did is forever engrained in my head (in a good way). I LOVE your vibe, demeanor, and smile!!! :) Hope you feel better!
- Mona Nomura
Aw, thanks Mona. You know how to cheer a girl up!
- anna
I bought TP. What sucks more than shopping for TP when you need it, you know?
- anna
Calling dominoes and asking them to bring extra napkins. That sucks more.
- Pete D
Photographers are really going to love this one. It's with the woman who head the prints and photography division. Oh, and librarians are going to love it too. Librarians rock!

I was wondering what True Discernment would say. I wasn't surprised. Presumably Pat Robertson is jumping up and down in Revelationish glee.

i run out, call the fire department and after they get there, figure out who started it and proceed to whup their natural a** (assuming that it wasn't me who started it mind you :-) )
- tiffany
OTOH it makes a huge difference if it's an electrical fire or it's a grease fire. I agree you don't spend hours trying to determine this, but you should really try to narrow things down before you try to spray your hose on it, unless you don't mind electrocution or getting splattered with hot grease.
- Victor Ganata
And perhaps even whup their unnatural one too, Tiffany. :)
- Yolanda
Sometimes a little electrocution or burning is worth it for saving your home
- Mo Kargas
"put it out" would include that determination, Victor. If you're even qualified to make that termination and then battle the fire :)
- Rahsheen ™
First, stop, drop and roll. Then run around screaming because I am going to lose everything. Eventually (think maybe 3 minutes) run outside and call the fire department.
- Rob Diana
That's the thing. I'm not sure we should assume just pouring enough money^H^H^H^H^Hwater on it will put this particular fire out.
- Victor Ganata
Drink a lot of beer and piss on it. Can I do that to Congress too?
- jcunwired
You could probably assume that pouring money on the problem will make it go away, but like water, there's not an infinite supply of it. We may not have enough to fix the problem.
- Alex Scoble
Well, that's all fine and good, but We The People chose these guys to be our firefighters and I'd much rather have them do their job then run around trying to investigate who started it before they try to put it out.
- Rahsheen ™
But this isn't a fire. This is more like a water leak.
- ·[▪_▪]·
Then we just need to pump more water into the system!
- Alex Scoble
How we got here is not as important as where we go from here. Whodunnit & how are but lessons that we can do our best not to repeat (but odds are, being human...we will)
- Kim Mahan
do you try to put it out by throwing the furniture and all your valuables into the house? then, when you run out of stuff, do you ask your neighbors to throw their valuables into your house, too?
- MikeAmundsen
The point is, you call the fire department. In this case, the fire department shows up and decides to investigate why your house burned down while it's still burning when they should STFU and do what they need to to save it. I don't know what saving it involves, but I do know they just need to do their job and STFU.
- Rahsheen ™
I don't think anyone here is a fireman....just sayin.
- Rahsheen ™
If only Congress actually knew how to put out a fire.
- Victor Ganata
That's like worrying if your dentist actually knows how to perform a root canal after you're already sitting in the chair with your mouth numbed up and the drill buzzing it's way through to your nerve. The Choice has been made.
- Rahsheen ™
Rahsheen, you have definitely made your point with style. That last comment in the thread is teh awesome.
- Alex Scoble
Thanks, Loic. This post got me to finally go create a seesmic account. I didn't have the nerve to post a video yet... but did make sure the camera & mic were working. Maybe tomorrow. :-)

I made the switch a year ago May, and haven't been disappointed. Once there was an issue with my laptop, which I thought was a problem with the router... FIOS customer service asked me for the PC model & manufacturer, and not only got HP on the phone, but stayed on the line for an hour while we were troubleshooting to make sure my issue was resolved. I was amazed.

photos and visual representation are one of the major advantages that ff has over similar services. The world looks so much more interesting with photographs.
