Please tell that to my eleven year old. Between ds games and his fanboy art, Pokemon is all he talks about. Wait, and Bakugan.

Kisha, I know, but it's painful for me, because I was that just 7 when I started playing Red, and I played until I was 14, through the third generation. But they're remakes, that didn't need to be made. Keep them in the past. Make something new.
- Jimminy Fuller
Yeah, I wasn't as upset when Leaf Green / Fire Red came out because green never made it to the US. But I guess for the younger kids it's an introduction to the past.
- Jimminy Fuller
Well, have a teen at home who still like them even if it passed away, because it reminds 'good old days' (but don't tell anybody), and a 7 years old niece who is a real fan, like many others in her school! :)

500 Colored Pencils — Art Gallery. O. M. G. PENCIL PORN ((O.O)) Where is CeeBee when you really need to show him something? >.< Are the other pencil set fetishists in da howse? - http://500pencils.socialdesigner.com/gallery
Eh. I bet he already knew about it, anyway. Hope he's doing alright, wherever he is. I bet some other FFers knew about this already. It's gimmicky, but I can't resist a list like this. *Friendfeed searches*...
- Kamilah Gill
heh heh. Cee Bee did find this months ago, and I even Liked it back then. I didn't have access to the giant list of color names back then, though.
- Kamilah Gill
My Mom bought this for my Daughter. My Daughter just got her first box of pencils over the holidays - very cool!
- Kurt Starnes
Your daughter is such a lucky girl, Kurt. I'll have to make do with just copying the color names into a spreadsheet for inspiration. This is going to take a while. They made it really difficult to copy, darn them. At least they do give the complete list.
- Kamilah Gill
Kierkegaard is red. Alrighty then...
- Kamilah Gill
Whoa. "Mud Walls of Kanazawa". That's an awesome one. Dark tan. Names like that make me really want this badly. Annoying names like "Scarlett O'Hara" and "Rhett Butler" make me not want it as much. Stupid names like "plum crazy" just make me roll my eyes. Still, though, overall I love the random, evocative names. I want to mix them all up and pick out a few pencils to see what they inspire me to make... I'm about to at least be able to simulate doing that.
- Kamilah Gill
Here is my completed chili. It's so incredibly good I don't want to share it with the family. I used sour cream and cream of mushroom soup to thicken it, but that's not necessary. 5 different peppers are in this, and it's topped with pepperjack, avocado, cilantro and onion. I may grate some radish over my second bowl.
- Admiral Anika
This looks very nice. It's a good job my wife is roasting pork and it's nearly done so I can eat dinner soon.
- Ian May
I'm sooooooo stuffed right now from the two bowls I had. One key for me is that I saute my onions & garlic in cinnamon/salt/pepper. That helps give it a dynamic flavor.
- Admiral Anika
Egyirba, it's close to this one: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe.... Changes: I use a tablespoon of cinnamon when I saute. I use a whole bulb of garlic, I use pasilla, serrano, habenero and jalepeno peppers. The first 3 are fire-roasted then diced. You can use vegetable broth if you'd like. From the moment I started chopping until this was done was a little under an hour.
- Admiral Anika
wow, cinammon! (and a whole bulb of garlic--yum!) don't know pasilla
- Egyirba
from twhirl
This is killing me. I might make this after we get back to town.
- ha3rvey (big appetite)
Did some digging and found that pasilla peppers are also known as poblano chiles. If you eat Mexican or Central American foods, it's the pepper that's usually stuffed with stuff. If you eat Middle Eastern foods, it's the pepper that's usually roasted, that's served with the roasted tomato.
- Admiral Anika
Okay, one other change is i used 1 tablespoon of sour cream and a can of cream of mushroom soup to thicken it. You can also puree one can of the beans. I also used 1 lb. of ground turkey because I didn't feel like cooking a chicken. Looking at that recipe, I also used one less can of beans and broth.
- Admiral Anika
Akiva you're quite the Chef!! Awesome!! Try Poblano peppers - my favorite!
- Susan Beebe
well, thanks, again. and thanks for the update on pasilla. yum, indeed, edythe!

LOL I was *just* wondering earlier today where you'd gone, Cee Bee. Maybe I just was logged on at the wrong times.

LOL. Me too, Cee Bee. I'm really embracing and enjoying getting back to my more artistic endeavors. GO Kamilah!!!!

i was busy cataloguing my #2 pencil collection
- Cee Bee
Thanks for the encouragement, Derrick :) I was splodging around with some oil paints earlier, just to be painting. That's the one thing I'm a little short on, supports for painting.

Yes, and I appreciated your comment on my post from this morning re: the role of art in our lives. I too went to art school and there's something about learning how to unlearn so that you can just create. Get on it, K...you'll be fine. :)
- Derrick
Do you sort them all in chromatic scale- or some other order? I'd sort mine by length and/or type, since I can detect correct colors at runtime, so to speak (and if I can not, I shouldn't be needing to sort any color crayons in the first place).
- ianf ⌘
Sorry it's scary to you, Brent. This is what happens after you go do art as a kid and as a teenager, go to art school for 6 years, then buy a few *more* things, and keep tossing them in a closet and forgetting what you already have. I was sorting them by brand, sort of, with some help from the Dick Blick website. Now stuff's all rubber-banded together, the Prismacolors are all in the bottom of my ArtBin, etc. Told you guys this was #reallyanal.

I differentiate between pet rats and wild rats. It's the wild rats that creep me out. I'm not likely to catch diseases from spiders. I don't feel like I need an exterminator for spiders. OTOH, I don't live someplace where poisonous spiders are common.

Moleskine Reloaded -- How to replace Moleskine's paper with better stock and maintain the book's best qualities. - http://www.trumpetvine.com/sketchb...
"The size and durability of the Moleskine Pocket notebook is perfect for my sketching needs, but the paper is not ideal. Although both “sketchbook” and “watercolor” versions are available, neither is well-suited to my particular requirements. And so, I have developed a process for replacing the paper (aka Moleskine Reloaded) while retaining all the other wonderful attributes of the Moleskine."
- Kisha, Well Conditioned
from BuddyFeed
Uh...doesn't replacing the actual paper make it totally not a moleskin? Maybe I'm missing something :)
- Rahsheen ™, Coach Rah
The best things about a lined moleskine or the sketchbook is the way it lays flat when working, the simplicity of the design and cover, plus the sizes.
- Kisha, Well Conditioned
from BuddyFeed
Also its streamlined shape so the pocket version is easy to carry. Unfortunately, the sketchbook paper doesn't take a simple watercolor wash predictably and the watercolor notebook even in pocket size can be unwieldy for me since it flips open from the bottom. This gives you the best of all worlds, a Moleskine pocket sketch with wc-friendly paper. In other words, it's like a Moleskine mashup but still very Moleskine.

I just want to give up but I love my partner but the manipulation (and that's all it is) gets so sickening to stomach (mine's been going on 4-5 days) if you want to talk I know that we don't know each other but I'll listen.
