We once had 2 cats, almost same age. One came from the streets and was scared-playing-tough. The other came from a good home and was setting an example for the "wild cat". Gradually (took years) he became really mellow.

Sophie socialized Plum in calmer cat behavior and Plum taught Sophie how to play. They kinda "fixed" each other.

I've had great luck adopting shelter and foundling cats. They're all different, and some can be a trial, but they've all been awesome.
