I took the tiny hound for her walk this morning at about - trying to get done before the temp gets above 90 :P I heard the finches that the neighbor feeds raising a ruckus. When I looked up there was a tiny predatory bird snatching a male finch out of the air! I'm not sure what kind of bird it was - it looked sorta like this. A Kestrel

His head looked like this but he was not so spotted - pretty but lethal

It was moving pretty fast plus I'm not sure how I could tell - darker wings, lighter breast feathers - could have been :)

Oh that's a pretty good shot the only picture I could get was of the bird on the ground in a bush eating
