Kamilah Reed (K. Gill)
Sipping seltzer water for upset stomach, grimacing through sore, widening hips, trying to PAINT today, make something good this time...
New rule: if you make Momma sick in the summer, you shall be a good baby when you're born. Also, it sounds ridiculous, but the hips might feel better if you make an effort to suck in your lower tummy when you walk. </auntieadvice> - Mary B: #TeamMonique
Thanks. I've been lucky enough to avoid all the usual pregnancy problems (no nausea or vomiting, no back pains, no seriously swollen feet), but I've ended up with this hip pain thing that no-one usually mentions. That and very itchy skin and recurrent heartburn (which I tended to get even before I was pregnant). Just about 4 weeks to go. - Kamilah Reed (K. Gill)
I had sciatica with Jojo such that while I kept playing tennis until three weeks to go, I couldn't return a wide serve after a while. All I could do was grab my butt and say, "Good shot!" - Mary B: #TeamMonique from iPhone
I've been wondering how you're doing. I'm sorry you're uncomfortable, but it won't be long now! - Anne Bouey
Now I need to make an update... The feet are kind of swollen now, especially my right ankle. Slightly uncomfortable, but more gross-looking than anything else :( I feel balloonish because of how it looks. Bleh. Not much longer. Just a couple of weeks. Fingers are getting a little fat, too. The wedding & engagement rings want to squeeze when I put them on. (I only put them on when I'm leaving the house, which is what I normally do, pregnant or not.) - Kamilah Reed (K. Gill)
Can you wear support socks? I found that really helped, plus keeping your legs raised (the socks also help to mask the looks of your ankles, so that might make you feel a bit better, too). Glad you are doing ok and so excited for you! - WoH: Professor MOTHRA
Raising my feet for the last couple of hours that I slept last night / this morning seemed to help. I'll have to do that until I can find some support socks. Thanks for the advice. - Kamilah Reed (K. Gill)
Only 4 weeks to go??!!! - Headless Gnad Kicker
Probably more like 2 or 3 weeks. Hoping the baby will hang on a bit so I can get my hair done next Tuesday, in cornrows to make it low-maintenance for a month. Harold will be driving me to the salon. No more driving for me until after the baby is born. - Kamilah Reed (K. Gill)
Try ginger ale for your tummy. Ginger is especially helpful. - amygeek
I have some ginger ale here. (Now, not back on the day that I originally made this post.) I mostly get heartburn after some of my meals. Luckily, I have had very little nausea. - Kamilah Reed (K. Gill)
Compression socks FTW. Thanks to Harold, who went the extra mile to find me some. At Best Buy, of all places :) - Kamilah Reed (K. Gill)
Hang in there! I had the hip pain, too--try lying on your side and having someone put their hands just above and below your hip and then lean with their body weight. And good call on the low maintenance hair! You are going to be such an awesome mom. - laura x from BuddyFeed
