lol, really interesting Alex - very cool. But yo, what does it mean by my twitter "contacts"? - Zee from WeDoCreative
I gather you do not use twitter, then? The internet knows stuff but clearly it can get stuff wrong occasionally :) Try run it with a different url of yours. I used your friendfeed url. - Alexander Kohlhofer
interesting! - Nikos Anagnostou
Lol, of course i use twitter...but are the 'contacts' meant to be my followers or people i'm following? - Zee from WeDoCreative
It shows relations expressed by XFN (rel="contact friend etc..") found on the net. Errr ... with huge numbers like yours I am frankly not entirely sure. Just launched and all :) - Alexander Kohlhofer
While it suggests Twitter and Flickr URLs, FriendFeed URLs yield interesting results (at least in my case) http://yourcloud.info/results?... - Ontario Emperor
very cool, thanks! Now if I could just synch up contacts across numerous SocNet apps! - Susan Beebe
We got a few exciting features planed to support portability. And it should work for any personal url. FF works just like Twitter or Flickr. - Alexander Kohlhofer
didn't find it very accurate...missed the number of tweeple followers by about 1,000...maybe I am missing something? - Jean Ann Van Krevelen

“So Friendfeed have changed the html outputted by the embedable widget without any warning! This has broken things on my site. Would it not have been better to release a new version of the widget and allow people to opt in to usig the new one gradually?”
12 hours ago - Link
flickr photo post titles have been completely removed in friendfeed stream, images are now wrapped in same nasty table markup - the naming of classes is not great (take a look at the hatom microformat why don't you?) and the timestamp is now just loose text in an info element along with the comment button with nothing to identify it for styling or parsing at all. None of this makes sense to me and certainly feels like a regression rather than improvments. - James Tindall
I would not have even noticed! It looks slightly different on my site, too. Not enough for me to fix it though (for now). - Alexander Kohlhofer
I should have just used the api and written custom code rather than hacking the widget and will do so now i think - still not good to change the output of a widget without some warning or options for the users I feel. - James Tindall
To clarify - the html changes were significant not just little tweaks - elements were removed, some elements were moved around and placed in completely different places in the DOM, class names were removed and changed - so any custom css written for the widget will now need re-writing. - James Tindall

"Considering how superbly run his campaign was I doubt this setting was chosen without reason. He won on the topic of change (And I am so glad he did) with a large margin. But there are people who did not go for that and so now, that he is elected, he needs to bring them over. A conservative appearance might help them to not resent but accept and maybe embrace. Or it is all bogus. Who knows... :)" - Alexander Kohlhofer

Zuckerberg’s Law of Information Sharing (NYTimes.com)
Friday at 5:29 am - via Mento - Link
"“I would expect that next year, people will share twice as much information as they share this year, and next year, they will be sharing twice as much as they did the year before,” he said. “That means that people are using Facebook, and the applications and the ecosystem, more and more.” Call it Zuckerberg’s Law." - Chris Messina via Mento
is it just me or is this dude full of shit? - Cee Bee
He's just putting out FB-centric version of Reed's Law which is smarter and broader and has a stronger basis (see Wpedia) - Paul Jones via twhirl
No, it's not just you, that IS shit, it's seeping through, staining his shirt - sofarsoshawn
And next year we still won't have a business model...and the next year after that as well. We also won't be able to justify how we are worth $4 billion so we'll rely on sneaky stuff like Beacon. - Eldon via fftogo
I agree that more and more people will share more and more information - I do not think we'll need a Facebook or any other centralized service like it to do it, though. He should have taken the 900 :) - Alexander Kohlhofer
have you noticed a similarity, with Google Earth/Facebook: the invasions of privacy has all been done with most people's unknowingly blithe participation; but there's too much room for abuse, and there definitely has been, notice his top friends - I posted it on my feed - sofarsoshawn
perhaps it's a reach, but i wouldn't be surprised of some of these social networking sites had gov't support or backing in some way. - Cee Bee
An exponential growth of @scobleizer's will prove Zuckerberg's Law true. - Mike Reynolds
it's not reaching at all: LOL check out his top friends and others, news agencies, political parties, etc FB is the world's biggest & best voter preference polling mechanism - sofarsoshawn
Do you know that Zuckerberg in German means "sugar mountain"? The name is cool, but not the projects. - Ryo

15 Useful Project Management Tools | Developer's Toolbox | Smashing Magazine
Thursday at 7:02 pm - via Bookmarklet - Link
They mention it in the comments of the blog post, but Redmine is an excellent web-based project management tool. It's really, really good. http://www.redmine.org - Jason Huebel
yeah, they missed out quite a few good ones in the main content area...i'm not impressed. - Zee from WeDoCreative via IM
yes, most of them are commercial.. They missed really good options like FlySpray and RedMine - Leandro Ardissone via IM
What is wrong with commercial sites? - Alexander Kohlhofer
I don't he's saying there's anything wrong with commercial sites Alex...i think he's just saying that most of these are commercial and they didn't include many non-commercial - Zee from WeDoCreative
Yes, that's what I said. I use commercial products in my workday: Basecamp, Unfuddle, FreshBooks. I only say that Smashing Magazine picked a lot of commercial products while there are a lot of free/open source software that are really good too. And since they are providing a review/list of products they should include non-commercial for the users don't want to pay, and also to let gain some recognition to that people that offer their work for free. - Leandro Ardissone
I guess it is hard to make a comprehensive list of anything online - and even if one was it would not provide much value as the editorial comment / review is what is often most interesting imho. But i get your point - thanks for clarifying. - Alexander Kohlhofer
strange choice, several of them are ticketing systems or accounts more than project management, perhaps the title could have been better - Joelle Nebbe
Yeah, the title isn't well considered. There's a lot of stuff in that list that doesn't apply to project management specifically. On the subject of featuring non-commercial apps, I use commercial stuff all the time. But when there's a free app that does the equivalent of a commercial one, why pay for the commercial app? Particularly when the code in the non-commercial app may be vetted for security by the public? - Jason Huebel
I'm not terribly impressed by FlySpray. I wouldn't classify it as a project management app. It's a bug tracker, which isn't the same thing. Bug tracking is a subset of project management (at least, in software dev), but it's not a project management suite like Redmine. - Jason Huebel
@Jason You're right. But also Smashing Magazine is reviewing many bug tracking softwares. 16bugs is one for example. - Leandro Ardissone
Smashing Mag is very popular. I just love it! I link to them a lot on my Diigo Groups. :) - J. D. Ebberly

Paparazzi! is a small utility for Mac OS X that makes screenshots of webpages. - Leandro Ardissone
I'm looking forward to version 0.5 since it's not prime time ready for Leopard yet. It's abit quirky even on the previous OS. Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't. - Jonathan Kong
It works fine for me. Rarely it crashes or eat a lot of resources, but usually it works like a charm. - Leandro Ardissone via IM
