@hamids And a mobile provider other than AT&T of course ... Feh!
Is Solaris x86 on commodity hardware a viable data center solution?
@piewords You don't monitor new followers? I'm very interested in who follows me; if I interest them, they're more likely to interest me.
@piewords Who knows what spammers will figure out later: Do you wait until a break-in to install locks or back up data after a disk crash?
@piewords It spams me with "following" emails & clutters other people's following lists which can be great sources of new people to follow.
Created new account, followed NYT, didn't post anything, & had 8 "followers" in 24 hours--all #spam. #Twitter needs to do something.
@chapmaa That sounds more Karma Sutra than High School. Unless it's a "performing arts" school for extremely talented and quick learners.
@chapmaa I "waited" until college. Maybe I'll save myself for Wave: Google you're so big (woof) be gentle ... Oh sweet mystery of life ... !
@brilliantleap Only if it doesn't become the "Would you like fries with that?" add-on sale to storage at McEMC's.
ECM Far Side Moment: Clients say, "Bad Documentum! Naughty!" What I hear, "Blah blah blah DOCUMENTUM! Blah blah blah ..."
Apple did release Safari 4.0 yesterday. Unlike beta, plays well with WordPress & TinyMCE: Yay! Plus a few cosmetic changes. Anything else?
@ac4lt Confirmed. The pricing for upgrading phones isn't very generous. *sigh*
@brilliantleap Although some of my most interesting work has been doing DCTM, but my time at Commodore was far more exciting and passionate.
@brilliantleap Can't be done. It's not sexy & can't be sold as a direct consumer product. People who buy DCTM aren't the people who use it.
@ldallasBMOC I'm cuckoo for Cocoa programming! Down the rathole we go ... Release the damned tablet/10" iPhone already! I hate waiting.
No lines or unusual activity at otherwise busy KoP Apple Store. Odds of actual release today very low unless it's software only.
@ldallasBMOC Partly RDBMS hammer/nails problem. Spock might say, "RDBMS patterns indicates two-dimensional thinking." Silly table people!
@spam CharlottaBenjem
Dell laptop hard drive failed to seek after reboot. Was persnickity before, so not Ubuntu's fault: Major version upgrade curse persists.
Upgrading to Ubuntu 9.04 on my somewhat cranky old Dell XPS laptop: Will this be my first successful major-version in-place update?
@ukdavo Points to Desktop Client for trying to get outside the contextual box of app. DocMgmt isn't _an_ app. It's "where the content is."
Summary includes phrase "Groove with you" as cutesy slang for initiating P2P collaboraton session. People, really! Don't make it too easy!
Came across "Prodcast" while googling Groove. Seemed clever at first, then quickly took on NSFW meanings as my whole brain weighed in. Ack.
Goid idea, saves me some work / RT @brilliantleap: Spoke to Whitney Tidmarsh of EMC ... #Documentum Dev Ed on Amazon Cloud@ minimal cost.
@ukdavo Commodore 128 Effect: Inertia of huge legacy base (programs, pages) crushes newer, better, perfectly backward compatible options.
@ukdavo Looking at the useability of Documentum clients over the years, we can only hope they stick to APIs and let others front end them.
RT @whitneytidmarsh: #EMCWriters Ironically, a toilet in the back of the room flushed the moment SharePoint was mentioned...
@ldallasBMOC Probably right if Chunk not preceded by "Super Fudge" or followed by "-y Monkey". Do not virtualize my ice cream! I'll scream!
@jmancini77 Me. Most of my recent projects felt like being the digital gravedigger. Maybe I was also a little bit of the junkyard dog!
Wondering if Twitter has become a target for Legal discovery yet. Another plus for host-your-owns like Laconica perhaps--capture & control.
