After 4 days away from the office, FF and Twitter, I am finding it really hard to engage.

With online communities, I have found that it is easiest if you do not go through the backlog of messages, but start when you re-enter. Work is different, but that's why I love using my Out Of Office, so that people will not just blindly send me emails when they know I'm not gonna respond for a couple of days or, in some cases, for a couple of weeks,

Same here. Gone for 3 days and getting back into the stream seems to be such a chore.
