that's a very scary picture you used there simon, anyone i know? i see not many other pundits (gotta hate that word) have left Fight To Live out of slections in teh last so hopefully we do get the each way odds needed for a horse like this in the last.
- Larry Foley
Hey Mr Foley. I thought Anavila trialled quite well behind Fantastic Owners the other day. On that run I thought he might be an each way chance, but I just wonder if the connections want to wait for an easier class 4 race in the near future. I would be interested in yours and the other subscribers thoughts.
- Blue Flame
The trainer (hill) looks to have a record of getting horses up at the lower end of the class (as opposed to those that drop and strike) so ne reason why he won't be trying but it's a very tough Class 3 race. Punters way have Chiosim as their special and I like el Sheik - both quality and I would have to say Anavila hard pressed to beat them.
- Larry Foley
I want to be confident of Northern Lion but lot of support for Sky Happiness around the traps. Comments appreciated.

Speaknoevil gets a start and with Saimee on board must be a huuuuuuge winning hope
- Blue Flame
I think so, Blue Flame. Good form, blinkersa on for first time and Saimee on board suggest he wins. I alos like the fact Sir Rumble, perhaps race fav, has drawn very badly and must be looking at easier options than this race (i.e class 5). Pacific Gift, the newcomer, is worth keeping safe at debut although the track watcher suggests he may need the run.
- Larry Foley
Thanks for that extra re-assurance Mr Foley. I also like Monterey in the last. In a recent trial he sped out the barriers to lead before being restained and was never pushed out. I think he will get a good sit or lead from barrier 1 and will be hard to beat if fit enough. Do you give him a chance Mr Foley.??
- Blue Flame
Mr Foley and Mr Flame, are you both going to the Davilak this evening?
- Simon Hicks
Big chance Monetrey and I see Frosty (trackwatcher) has picked him so should go well. Lorena was a big effort first up and if she improves on that she will be hard to beat. Mission Supremo has blinkers addded and trainer gray usually has a good record there. Tough races late. And yes, I will at the Davilak.

- longtze88
You may have to explain speedrating Mr Longtze so I have a better understanding (speedrating for dummies?) but from what i saw last week and at his previous run el grey will go close at each way odds in, as you say, a race with a fair bit of guess work. Dollars and Cents a worry.
- bob
hi bob, i use speerate as a guide only, just the time return less track varient,3 points = 1 length, race 1 no1, 6, 8 , 9 mr vantastic, a maiden race like this is more difficult to predict then a class 5 race.1st blood is the only natural front runner, 1 grande estilo will improve from last run,(last run likely an educational run though) a race like this horses havin 10 starts n above without a win, is a setback.this race to me its a U.B. (unbetable race)
- longtze88
Hi Longtze, i agree it is a VSBOR (very small bet only race). Look out for the improvers like Mr Vantastic. I would appreciate your view on Mexican Rose - I rate her only a slim winning hope but I could be horribly wrong.
- larry
race 6 mexican rose best speed is 109yielding- she needs to improve, 2-d world, 4 mooring will be close, no confidence who can win ,i shall sitout this race.but with 5okg, she is still handicap advantage in here.
- longtze88
Hi Longtze - larry here (bobs computer) I think Mooring beats Mexican at the weights and Dragon World could beat them all. I might sit out as well as Dr Lemon some hope after being the one to beat and the sitting duck at his last couple. Off to a pre-race function now so best to everyone and lets hope earl grey starts us off on a flyer.

bumble bee ,my personal opinion is reverting to turftrack after 3 wins in a row on poly n up in class 3 might be to much a asking from him , he had shown me his ability of a class 4 horse , lets see whether he can improve to wins today? and wishing mr choo's wishes comes true.another hornet.
- longtze88
Good points but I rate the Kranji Stakes C win at his last start as Class 3. He beat some good horses (in fact he blitzed them) so I think h goes a lot further than this grade. I would have been more worried if he was stepping from the old fibresand to turf but Poly to turf not an isssue for me. Strong bet. When High Key finally wins just sit back and buy a beer with the money you have saved previously!
- bob
Longtze - great call on Bumble Bee. Haven't had a good look at the video but that was a big disappointment. Looked like the day suited on pace runners (but not exclusively) so no excuse there. Cheers - larry.
- bob
thanks for your compliment mr larry, the worst parts of reading the race is when you have your own horse in the race.bias, emotion, trainer's feedback all creeps in, thats one part that i wish i can overcome one fine day.have a nice holiday n cheers

I am just going to wait and see with Jolies this weekend. I have a feeling the 3 home grown horses that are shortest in the early markets will be too good on Saturday. But in saying that I am not totally discounting Jolies chances for the Cox Plate just yet. *** To Longtze88, I give High Key a good chance tonight too, has had 2 starts since a spell and should be fit and ready to run a good race. A good each way bet.
- Punters Pal
He has been too short in betting previously and not delivered that's why I wil be steering clear of High Key. Each way odds needed for sure. Keep Future Sprinkles safe - good trial (with blinkers) and never given a chnace last start - I have in in my forecast.
- Larry Foley
I notice future sprinkles is 10kg down as well which could mean he is very fit or did it tough at his last trial. I will go the former and suggest he goes very close.
- Larry Foley
at w21, they are arguing that mamas love was treated lightly last win, i m certain the chief handicapper was right n deserve his pay, tonight answer is given .confirm with her running 4th

i agree longtze. they (the handicappers) usually get it right. I still think she should have beaten magician though! Well done to Jolie's Shinju and connections. Big effort to finsih third in that company!

singapore horse race meeting preview for sunday september 13, 2009 - www.singapore-horse-racing.net
It was almost impossible to pick a special on Sunday with most races throwing up a handful of chances -the exception being race 2 where we struggled to find one winner! singapore race meeting review for friday september 4, 2009
LOCUS STANDI made a good night even better by getting up in fine fashion (and at a good price to boot!) in the lucky last on Friday. She made good of her nice weight allocation at the race conditions and looks a very smart horse who is certainly enjoying her racing thus far in Singapore. The other star of the night, the Douglas Dragon-trained BUMBLE BEE, showed he is a horse to be reckoned with a commanding win in race 8. In all sorts of trouble in the back few heading into the straight and with a wall of horses in front of him, Moreira just steered him through traffic at will and he was fairly flying when given any daylight. His form (and RENEXIS) has certainly stood up since their dead heat a few months back and a return bout would be a race to watch. Elsewhere the form held up nicely (although only two outright winners) with the exception of RONGPONGI in race 4 who was the flop of the month thus far. Video and results can be found at: http://www.simonhicks.com/kranji2...

I almost picked him to win but wnet with the horse with race experience on a coin toss only. I will have a each way bet on him though as he could be value and Sam Chua is going well. Which half of the name did you pick?
- Larry Foley
our fellow forumer winterman also pick him, looks like i will follow you guys this time, at least for some value. cheers. race 6 i am looking for a outsider chance between don's on my marque n sun villiage.both didnt do any good on py, but handicap rating have drop to too low a level to ignore.giro is a good contender with bad drawn.
- longtze88
On My Marque was flying last time late and while this is not an ideal race I think he is too good a form to not win if race run to suit. Good each way option at hopefully each way odds. Tough night isn't it? Give me two winners and I will go home happy.
- Larry Foley
sincrely you make my day on on my marque, good forcast.thank you
- longtze88
for a minute there i thought i had the win but a looked like a bit of late traffic costly (from memory - i haven't looked at replay yet). lot's of forecats last night so hopefully everyone made some money.
- Larry Foley
Just did the replay - he was never going to beat Giro but a nice run (and result) anyway. His stablemate, Sun Village, is going well also and well worth following over a more suitable distance.
- Larry Foley
my my, that bumble bee was impressive! not sure of the "great ride" comment by max though - i thought moreira made it very tough on himself and i could have won on a horse going that well. but max does love "magic" and why not.

- Desmond Tay
Larry is currently playing in another charity football match so cannot get back to you at the moment. But I know that he does not pay to much attention to the yielding track as he believes that the Singapore track is so good that form will hold up regardless. But in saying that Screaming Eagle should improve on a wet track with all 4 of his wins coming on yielding tracks.
- Punters Pal
Hi Desmond - back from football and just checking kranji and it looks teh track wil get downgraded sooner than later. However, as punters pal points out the track is so good I try not to dwell on wet track form and if he it gets bad I play by ear later. Horses like Screaming eagle, in form anyway, do come into more contention but it is an early race and hopkins still tough to beat. I do...

- Larry Foley
Continues to bucket down... race 3 - screaming eagle and lucky sun have wet form but we have them in our selections anyway and hopkins still hardest to beat. I think good race horses win today if that makes sense (i.e bad horses will give up a lot quicker and the fighters get up).

well done punters pal - too clever with Russian Safari - likes the wet, and everything else you mentioned!
- Larry Foley
There is no such thing as a sure thing. But when a horse wins at debut by the length of a fairly substantial condiminium swimming pool and carries just 50 odd kg in what looks a fairly average Novice affair - you would imagine he wins. BETTER THAN EVER (r8) is the horse and, with only one legitimate challenger (RAMJET), he looks a very good thing. When RENIXUS and BUMBLE BEE fought out a thrilling finish in June, a dead-heat seven or so lengths in front of their nearest rivals, no one would have guessed just how good this maiden form would be. Two starts later, RENIXUS was placed in Group company and on that run he is a special to win race 7 on Friday, a Kranji Stakes C over 1600m. Thats' OK - it was always going to be a race in two at the weights so I had a strong forecast and, as I had them basically rated the same, a little bet on Super Lucky Colour at value. Sorry for the late reply Longtze and Chootsim - yes, Bob was right. After Friday night I was wondering if I should change my Polytrack methods but in review most of the winners were there to find (not neccessarily back mind you). mr john meagher likes to give his horse a freshenup break and score 1stup after the break, highkey fit his pattern with blinker on, as he have 3 runners in the race, which is the intended winner remains a question ??as equience also looks like the contender here.whats your opinion?
- longtze88
Meagher has three runners with hopes and Lims two in the same race so it is a bit of a raffle. Equinence is due but I like the fact blinkers added to High Key. Looking again I probably lean towards High Key - just! Better to watch I think and wait for Ramjet!!! As a matter of interest maxworthy from STC has Trigger Synergy as his special in race one.

singapore horse race meeting preview for wednesday july 22, 2009 - singapore-horse-racing.net
A bonus for Singapore punters with a mid-week meeting this Wednesday 22 July - although some tricky little races on the Poly makes for an interesting night. After a bit of a disaster on Friday (only the one winner) and with our special not performing at all, we need to get straight back on the proverbial winning horse and SADDLE THE WIND in race 9 should do just that. Three good runs (and showing at his last start he can be ridden from the rear) suggests he is ready to win and this race looks more than suitable to open his Kranji account. It is a race with many chances so we should get value and with the stable and hoop in good form it looks a nice way to finish the evening. Elsewhere, HAPPY ENDING, a kranjiracing favourite, looks to have...Read more: http://www.simonhicks.com/kranji2...

It has been a long time since I have had a happy ending but I think it is coming late on Wednesday night. I think Larry has picked the last 2 winners and feel very confident to have a good go on both of them. (Including an all-up bet). Of the other races I give Abdicate a good chance in race 6. Can get a good sit from barrier 1 while the speedsters battle it out in front. Should be finishing the race off well with his light weight.
- Punters Pal
Abdicate looks due and always a chance. What do you think about Maxi Marine, Punters Pal?
- bob
Maxi Marine. On the positive side we have - blinkers, barrier, jockey, fitness. On the negative side we have - too slow
- Punters Pal
With Casino Royale out of race 4 (see early out's - late mail) I have put Giro on top. Inititally I had Fashion Thunder as my second pick but I think he is more of an each way horse if that makes any sense.
- Larry Foley
any idea whats the (important) primary pointers we should look for on polytrack.speerating doesnt work so well on poly, compare to turf for kranji, class, pace, early speed factors also is not very predictable compare to turf here.
- longtze88
After last night I'm surprised you ask here Longtze. Form is form these days (compared to before with Fibresand being chalk and cheese with turf) so a horse has to be going well. My next port of call is inner track form. Not neccessarily Poly form only as it is a different type of horse that can handle the one or two tight corners etc..so even look at the old Fibre form. After that I...

hi larry , i just wants to understand , n know more on polytrack ever since astra torres won the first race on polytrack .octorber last year, n kiwi maestro won a 1200 poly that day(i doubt he can win another 1200m polyrace), horses comes from anywhere n everywhere, After last night I'm surprised you ask here Longtze, answer : nothing to do with last night frankly, i am just doing a...

Hi Longtze - excellent questions as it has been enough time to find out what's going on regarding the Polytrack. I think Larry meant that he was surprised you asked after last night because kranjiracing only picked the one winner (but at nice odds it covered my night). Any statistical information on any races in always welcome.

I hope that u are right, Bob, Cheers and Happy Punting.

singapore horse race meeting preview for friday july 17, 2009 - singapore-horse-racing.net
This Friday is not a night for positive punting. At least not yet. Picking a special was almost impossible and sticking to our (new) rules of staying away from Restricted/Maiden events it was down to GOLDEN LIDO in race 5 to keep our excellent run of "good things" going. But if he does get up, or even run in the top three - it's that tough a night, he would want to be right on top of his game as...

Need some help from the outer this week - Chootsim, BlueFlame?
- Larry Foley
Hi Larry, I agree that the card this Friday night really points to a rough nite ahead, I will stick out for Intercept for some good flutter, Simpson should have a soft lead from barrier 2 and with the App. claim, should figure well with other contenders, either draw wide or having a dump boy on top. Just return from Malaysia,Cheyenne Dancer looks well suited in the KA series, and any...

- chootsim
A few good judges are leaning towards intercept so might be a fair option. Cheyenne Dancer could be shorter than Barend Vosrter and I would want to be looking on at odds on so thats why Zizou. I will definitely include Kyoto in exotics because as you mention saimees mount will take most of the punters attention (although come fly with me is a very good option so keep very safe). All the best and watch out tomorrow for more updates.
- Larry Foley
The only horse I am confident to back is Gutsy Prince in race 8. Though not a fan of punting in claiming rider races I think he will be too good for that field. I will also be having a bit each way on Noble Manor in the last. If Cheyenne Dancer is not at his best I think Noble Manor might be able to pinch this race.
- Blue Flame
The Hatchet Man is looking ominous and while he is close to droppng grades it looks as if he is really having a dip. I tossed up between Gutsy Prince and him and to be honest Gutsy was probably the easier way to go. I'm happy to ignore Cheyyene first up (when he won in Singapore he was in training and treated as an international for quarantine) and went for Zizou on a very smart run two starts back. Hopefully he doesn't head butt any Italians.
- Larry Foley
I just looked up ominous in the dictionary - Ominous (Adj) - "A word describing a horse that wins a race every 15 starts and who has not won for 3 years. An 'ominous' horse is often suited in Class 5 company." I couldn't believe my eyes, it's like the definition was written for The Hatchet Man.
- Blue Flame
You own a dictionary? Look up schadenfreude and talk to me later.
- Larry Foley
Haha, You dont need to be an English Prof or Rocket scientist be a horse player, find the winners,Dear friends, not defination of words, by the way, Larry is right in using the word Ominous on Hatchet man. Cheers and good luck to you all.
- chootsim
All friends here though Chootsim and he will buy me a beer when Hatchet Man gets up (although I will have a long look at Gutsy Prince and forecast again may be the go). Remember to keep an eye on Punters Pal.
- Larry Foley
All said,I will recommend that you throw in Shimonas magic for a nice tiece, beers all round then, Larry.
- chootsim
Sounds like a plan - I like the fact blinkers off and will include him for sure! I'm warming to Boss Man in race two - might just try to pinch this.
- Larry Foley
This Stravinsky young speedster is right in my target sight, led early, and not disgraced in the 1400m last start. Not much pace in this race, and hope he leads them home, i will be loving his payout with the hype on the toppie and lowest number. Cheers
- chootsim
I only hope EE OO UU runs home late so the race call sounds like a bad porn film. But Boss Man a very solid each way option.
- Larry Foley
you have to listen to that call on race 2 :)
- Simon Hicks
hi larry, what is the fundamentals inorder for a racing trust or sydication to be successful for kranji. you are the best person to comments, its doest seems to be workable in singapore, unlike aus , nz.
- longtze88
Hi Longtze and welcome to kranjiracing. true, there is a different mindset to ownership in Singapore compared to say Australia where it is common for people to race horses for "fun" and even non-racing people might belong to a syndicate with work mates or from a sporting club. However, there was a market in Singapore as the STC Trusts showed and many first time owners got a taste of...

singapore horse race meeting preview for sunday july 12, 2009 - DERBY DAY - singapore-horse-racing.net
You just have to love Emirates Singapore Derby day. Just walking through the gates of the magnificent Singapore Race Course at Kranji gives you a thrill. Today, the unofficial “ladies day” on the local racing calendar, it’s extra special as the fillies parade from before race one till closing - or even longer if they have backed a winner or two! But only one lady will get my attention this afternoon and it’s not the wife! Her name is... Larry and the Punters Pal have more for you at http://www.simonhicks.com/kranji2...

This is a useful site but not much traffic, should have more shouts, a good guide with Larry performing in most race days. Keep it up. See if i can help with some traffic. Cheers

Hi Chootsim - we work on the on the theory "build it they will come". The more the merrier though, especially when it comes to comments on our selections and your own suggestions etc.. Keep up the good work Chootsim.

singapore horse race meeting preview for friday july 10, 2009 - singapore-horse-racing.net
After both our specials got the chocolates last weekend we are sticking with the obvious this Friday and one horse, WAIKATO (r7) stands out as the best horse in the race. He has won over the 1400m previously (at his only start) and looks OK at the weights against his two main dangers, ANY HUMOUR and LIMS FIGHTER. While he should be... I reckon a good bet would be to all-up your last 2 selections, Shen Wei and Super Fighter. Both might be a bit short and both should win. My best bets of the day are Shen Wong in race 2 and Lycraa in race 4.
- Blue Flame
lycraaaaaaaa (as rex hunt would call it) looks a good of good things. Shen Wong hsould go very close but as someone pointed out to me he would have been better suited (with a rating of 39) in a class 5 race. he would then be giving crabs 7kg and not some promising youngsters. But the punters pal is confident.
