That's nice...but nobody asked what you prefer and it's pretty rude to say something like that on a thread when someone is obviously on vacation in Jamaica.
- Alex Scoble
from IM
Glad you weren't on the plane crash in Jamaica. Looks fun!
- Robert Scoble
Hey, What do you know. I was in your neck of the woods last week. In the Domenican Republic. Always wanted to get to Jamaica. While you're there, check out the Olympic Bobsled team :)
- Roberto Bonini
Sorry for biting your head off, Jeunelle. Your comment rubbed me the wrong way and I went off. My apologies.
- Alex Scoble
Wow. I own property in Negril, believe it or not. My uncle used to live there and left it to my brother and me. I've been there many times. What hotel are you staying at?
- Dave Winer
Dave, he said the name of the hotel in the comment directly above yours. :)
- Rochelle
Rochelle, oops. I know that place. The locals make fun of the white people running around naked. They disapprove. :-)
- Dave Winer
"I first fell in love with Indian food a few years ago after being heavily coaxed by my two more "adventurous-with-foods" friends. I am very picky about trying new foods, especially when the food looks unfamiliar to me or is composed of colors I'm not accustomed to seeing on my plate (e.g., the loud red color on tandoori chicken). After trying tandoori chicken, though, I opened myself to trying CTM and fell in love with this dish instantly."

Chicken Tikka Masala is one of the most popular dishes in the UK. It's also supposed to have been invented in the UK by a chef in an Indian Restaurant in Scotland. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki...
- Ian May
That's really, really dark Chicken Tikka Masala.
- Akiva Moskovitz
I thought it was the Gobi Desert. Aloo is potato so I'm assuming 'gobi' is cauliflower.
- Akiva Moskovitz
GOD DARN IT. I may have to order from Mehak today.
- Spidra Webster
Oh, I get your meaning now. I was thinking aloo = potato; Gobi = desert. Yours makes more sense.
- Bren -- feeling merry
from iPhone
I just got Tandoori Chicken, Aloo Gobi and Chicken Korma. Plus extra papadum. And it's YOUR fault, Derrick...ALL YOUR FAULT!
- Bruce Lewis
Chicken Korma is okay, but personally I think goat korma is superior. SOOOOOOO delicious. Think I may have to swing by the Indian grocery store on my way home from work.
- Jason Huebel
Pretty much anything with goat is good, IMO. I actually prefer goat over beef.
- Jason Huebel
The reason that Chicken Tikka Masala looks brown is that they used a can of crushed tomatoes instead of tomato sauce in that recipe. Most Chicken Tikka Masala recipes call for tomato sauce for a creamy consistency.
- Adrian
Goat is the most commonly eaten meat in the world
- Ian May
I had some on Sunday and it was pretty good. I'm a huuuuuge fan of CTM. My favorite place in LA (and I've tried quite a few) is Al Noor in Lawndale http://www.yelp.com/biz...
- Mark Krynsky
That's not a chicken tikka massala, it's not even red! England is the home of the Curry, and here in the midlands we've got some badass curry places, sadly as with most ethnic foods the real deal (homemade) is always superior
- Toby Graham
from iPhone
The masala sauce I buy in stores is red and yummy. The shrimp masala I buy at Indian restaurants is also red and yummy.
- MiniMage TKDteacher of FF
Weird. I figured that it'd be India and/or Thailand that would be the 'home of the Curry' and not England.
- Akiva Moskovitz
Lo! We are having Aloo Gobi and Roti for dinner tonight, in about 35mins! ;)
- अभिषेक(Abhishek) Das
Got curry chips at The Pub last week. Sadly, I will probably be forced to go get Indian food tonight; I don't think I even live near an Indian restaurant anymore.
- MiniMage TKDteacher of FF
Как вкусно выглядит. Это рис такой желтый?
- Ольга Сукачева
@Toby , you have real balls to say "England is the home of the Curry " !! - Why do really think the home of Curries in England ?? The home of Steakpies is England. .and the home for Curries in India !!
- Peter Dawson
Smoking a Romeo y Julieta #1 cigar made in Havana, Cuba while drinking a rum and Ting and listening to the waves crashing on the beach? Priceless...Although Tina would not approve with the way the shop here is storing the cigars. I definitely think it was dry and had a bitter finish as a result...I'd give it a 5 out of 10.
Hey, I like lots of things. They're just rarely discussed here. =)
- Admiral Anika
Alex. if you have others that are dry: put the cigars in a container with a wet wash cloth ( don't let them touch) and check periodically. Should only take a few hours.

Sir, randomly linking to your FriendFeed from one of my posts is oh wait you'll never see this because you're blocked for spamming. Thanks anyway, kaghazrangy.
- Akiva Moskovitz
damn this picture just won't go away - you have forced me to hide it
- William Harryman
Akiva, wasn't that pic taken at your last BBQ?
- Paul
Every time I see this picture I smile. Their joy is infectious, like herpes.
- Sparky
Paul, I surely do wish I had a beach in my back yard!
- Akiva Moskovitz
Sparky, I'm going to have this blown up to poster-size and attaching it to the ceiling above our bed. That'll cause some infections!
- Akiva Moskovitz
makes me want to grow a rack and diddle with my own, know what I'm saying?
- sofarsoShawn
this. . . .this. . . ugh . . . so fucking wrong.
- Peter Ghosh
Akiva - you can put anything you want above our bed.
- Sparky
i've been trying to formulate a comment for this for days, but i just...can't.

I still want to know the motivation here. is this a gay marriage argument? or are we already pushing group social contracts on friendfeed?
- Noah David Simon
oh man this one keeps popping up on ma friendfeed,....must spread virus nao
- Chris Hofmann
I'm surprised no one's noticed old boy's red-framed glasses.
- Akiva Moskovitz
oh right... the glasses are so important when three asian men are licking his nipples and all the comments are by people who think gay marriage has something to do with equality... when it has everything to do with taking protections away from children. the red glass glasses.... um yeah. chicken and Oklahoma with milk
- Noah David Simon
Mark, you have uncovered the dark underbelly of humanity except in this case it isn't dark but is rather a pasty hue somewhere in the vicinity of undercooked flan.
- Akiva Moskovitz
This should be in the default noobie FF stream. Like the first thing anyone who signs up sees. If they stick around they're part of the family.

i think if you unlike and delete all your comments anna it'll go away, but hide in general would be nice too (this photo makes me smile every time it pops up so don't mind it)...

*sigh* This is never going away, is it? It's gonna end up like James Bond movies and Swedish meatballs - always existing in the same form. never diminshing, never forgotten. :( :( :(

It will go away, to be replaced with photoshops of the original. It's all part of the meme lifecycle.

You can't close this thread. A lot of people say that this place is a Scoble-fest but, truly, it is this thread that is at the very heart of FriendFeed.

I'm officially going to proclaim that this is the FF equivalent of Goatse or FFoatse if you will. Lets all refer to it as that from this point forward.
- Mark Krynsky

As much as I am loathe to bump this post, I have to do it to say, You, sir, are a master. Well played, sir. Well played. This is why I take every opportunity to say, in my next life, I want to be Akiva. I've already called it! Don't anybody go getting any more ideas.
- ♥patricia♥
I, for one, refuse to "bump" posts...it's very unseemly...
- Live4Emma (L4S)
I wish FF-search allowed to do GROUP BY -aggregations so I could COUNT(*) who are the biggest *bump*ers. :)

Makes me laugh everytime I see it. Such a happy yet silly scene by the sea.
- Toby Graham
There is nothing silly about it. This is serious business.

The more I see this, the more I like it. Not for the ironic nipple-licking, but because these kids are genuinely enjoying themselves. :) Carry on.

This photo looks so much better in iPhone 3.0!#!~

It's just so refreshing to see genuine juvenile humour at work. These kids are no different from any other, I think it's a great happy image, given all the other shite happening in this world on a daily basis. For those that are too pompous and prudish, 'up yours with brass knobs'

You know, every time this pops up, since FF hides the middle of the comments of which there are 804 or so, I see Akiva say "I'm sorry." at the top. It makes me wonder about how some things are just not possible to apologize for!

the thing that strikes me about this (aside from the obvious) is after seeing this thing pop up like 35-40 times since March its just occurred to me that I don't have any (guy) friends that a) would lick my nipples b) would lick my nipples for a photograph. Maybe I should get out more...

I'm a little scared that I've this has gotten more than 800 comments and almost 200 likes over nearly five months and I still haven't clicked "Hide."

It's just a bit of fun. I mean watching how many comment, not the picture content (although I suspect that is all that was too!)
- Ian May
Allright, you guys ready to shoot "mirth and girth"?
- Rick Cogley
For the life of me, I'll never understand the emotion people have around this picture for or against. There's no nudity at all, not even implied nudity. Less dude nudity than a beer commercial or cigarette ad, yet there are people who really really really hate this picture.

- sofarsoShawn
The bumping algorithm includes things like novel people posting to it, in addition to thread age, and rapidity of comments. If the same 3 people are talking in a thread, it quits bumping because it's obviously a closed tea party.
- Matthew DeVries
I forgot, also you're a very handsome guy(saw the wedding images), I don't understand why you don't like to share your face. Rochelle is a lucky lady.

Jimminy, it's an irrational phobia. No different than people who are afraid of heights, spiders, clowns, or Canada.

Akiva, now I'm LMAO at the fear of Canada. People are actually afraid of Canada, or just the fact they don't know if they're British or French?

I don't think even Canadians know that difference.

On Fark, there was this one thread, that just kept growing and growing. On Fark, it was a single page per thread. And you could post images and gif inline. Well the thread wouldn't die, people just kept posting. I forget which one it was. Anyway, it got so monsterous, that few people going to read/post to it per day (which was only a handfull) accounted for 1/3 of the server load of the site. They eventually had to cull that thread.

"Sam, thanks for your thorough and insightful comment. While I also agree that the Twitter API isn't the way forward, I will say that I prefer that scenario than having no progress and stagnation with open standards. I personally have been getting tired and frustrated waiting for progress on the open front and welcome brute force tactics to jumpstart the process. Hopefully the right people will wake up and realize that concessions need to be made to avoid this from happening. That being said I like everything you proposed in your comment and totally agree about the namespace issue. It is critical to allow people to establish personal ownership and control of their data."

- Morgan Haley
Pantene, or whatever I have a coupon for.
- Nurse Katie
that stuff in a green neon bottle frutis or something
- VAL D. Zone
I like the high end stuff from the hairdresser (Pureology) but these days its pushing $30/bottle. So it L'Oreal for me.
- Shannon
Right now, I have Suave I think. I need to find something fragrance/chemical free because I super sensitive skin.
- tab thinks you're awesome
is pureology good? i can get that cheap, but never have used it myself
- Morgan Haley
I use Aveda, it's just about one of the few 'regular' brands that don't make my scalp super unhappy. I've also had really good luck with all of the Lush shampoos, just not when I dye my hair.
- Jennifer Dittrich
Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner, alternating with Neutragena T-Gel.
- Jason Huebel
I generally use Sunsilk. I got Suave Professionals the last time I got shampoo and conditioner, but I've not been impressed with it. I'll be switching back to Sunsilk when I run out.
- Curtiss Grymala
Griffin Remedy. No parabens, no petrochemicals, no SLS, and it smells heavenly.
- Jenica
uhhh now I feel like Bawls, but of course they don't sell it here anymore :-( Buh
- Rasmus Lauridsen
Oh, man. I went through a fairly significant Bawls phase. Take that as you will.
- Akiva Moskovitz
most of what I drink comes from tap or kettle.... cold water, or, hot water, to make tea. Also coffee.
- Ian May
I think they are too. I find blue glass facinating
- Melanie Reed
but why? Perhaps because it is relatively uncommon?
- Ian May
Not sure. It amazes the child in me. I find it stirs delight.:)
- Melanie Reed
Ian May: There's Blue Bottle Coffee out of San Francisco. They make tasty coffee, I find.
- April Buchheit
While at Fox Run winery in the finger lakes, we asked about their blue bottle for Arctic Fox wine. They said the wine sold 8% better in blue bottles than in green or clear. We bought 4 or 5 bottles.
- Kevin Fox
Blue is the color reflected by most large bodies of water. It is the color reflected in the sky. It is the shade of many eyes. I think it produces the most delight of all the crayons. And can be worn as apparel by almost anyone and still look good. Rather than feeling green with envy or having the yellow streak of cowardice, or being red with anger, blue puts you in that reflective though melancholy state of mind, which of the four seems a better color to be in. Blue has a lot of things going for it. :)
- Melanie Reed
what's that blue curacao stuff taste like anyway? and how do you pronounce the name?
- Morgan Haley
It's very sweet and sickly to my taste, but I don't have a sweet tooth.
- Ian May
I think curaçao is pronounced "koo-rah-saow" (feel free to correct me, fellow FFers)
- April Buchheit

I've had a bottle of that. Good stuff.

WinFF is a GUI for the command line video converter, FFMPEG. It will convert most any video file that FFmpeg will convert. WinFF does multiple files in multiple formats at one time. You can for example convert mpeg's, flv's, and mov's, all into avi's all at once.

It's the end of an era, I guess. Still, it's a shame that some machines still ship with HDDs and optical drives connected via a PATA-to-SATA bridge...
- Tyson Key
Yeah I still have 6 IDE drives that just won't die so still using them in an old server and external case.
- ronin
I have one of the BlacX external drive slot gizmos, that are really useful. Hot-swappable SATA drives.
- Ian May
haha I read the first comment and totally saw "LONG LIVE SATAN" goodness!
- jamar78
I answered a lot of questions about IDE in my day. Remeber the 512mb barrier? That is where OnTrack made a lot money bypassing cylinar limits in BIOS.

Yea Carolyn...soon this will be another technology that time has forgotten...just like how I also have to explain to my kids how we used to drag needles through the gooves of vinyl discs to play music.

I've only recently found myself as a steak fan, but I've conjured up a pretty good rub, and I think I have a pretty good cooking technique. It's too big though, oh my stars, I ate just under half of it.
- Derrick
Chili powder, granulated garlic, brown sugar, kosher salt, little dried thyme and oregano, black pepper, cayenne, and onion powder. I put it on just before lunch time, let it sit, and let the steak come up to temperature just before putting in the cast iron, which had been in a 450 degree oven for twenty minutes.
- Derrick
In a wonderful turn of events, D, you'll get to have steak on Instinct as well.
- Jason Toney
That's a lot like the one I use. I have a couple ribeyes in the freezer right now, in fact.
- ha3rvey (free hugs!)
Whuuuut, JT? I have to admit I bought these for a photo shoot that never came to fruition. The indulgent side of me loves the ribeyes, but the more practical likes the skirt steak. Good to know, JT. Just gotta load up on the veggies, right?
- Derrick
yeah, 6 oz steak portion (and lean) plus some veggies and you're all set.
- Jason Toney
@Derrick - now I know you are family...sweet potato fries are loved here too!
- JA Castillo
Well, damn, JT, that's kinda what I ate tonight. JA, I need to learn how to make mine from scratch; these were frozen via Trader Joe's.
- Derrick
The wife cuts hers, places them on a cookie sheet and adds a dash of olive oil atop and then drops them in the oven. Season w/ salt thereafter. It's a bit different and if you are not on top of things, you can burn them, but it beats frying them up! :)
- JA Castillo
I think Cook's Illustrated had a recipe for oven sweet potato fries earlier this year. I'll see if I can find it.
- ha3rvey (free hugs!)
Damn that looks good. Not to mention a very tasty looking skillet.
- Mark Krynsky
"Kelly, actually I should clarify. I like supplementing a traditional Lifestream with the addition of either filters for the services that are used or widgets that run alongside it with data segregated by services. If several days go by without my use of a particular service (often the case with say YouTube postings) it's nice to display the most recent items I created on that service which would normally get lost."
- Mark Krynsky
"Kelly, I agree with you regarding Picposterous. They don't appear to have added those feautures on the latest update as I would have expected them to. I personally started using email once I realized how to control the auto-posting and hadn't used the iPhone app since. They really need to fix the issues you point out along with adding auto-posting options to make it viable over using email."
