found a way to get an uncut version of l4d2. edit these two files and then start the game from here: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2 demo\ u can also add this shortcut to your steam-game list. everything is fine until valve decides to take measures.

simply change appid from 590 to 510

could be...510 is the dedicated server for l2d2...if you find the appid for the l4d1 dedicatedserver you might want to try

i doubt that workaround will last forever. they blocked that method in l4d1back then too. hope for you the steam support changes you version to uncut

i asked for a refund since they told me they are not allowed to sell a uncut version to anyone with a german ip. im going to buy it from amazon.uk i guess

i got the refund today. the customer service was awsome. they replied at a sunday,...in german and the refund was quick without any hurdles. all in all a great experience. im going to preorder today from amazon.co.uk......whos in?
