close??? Give me the God Damn admin rights...i need them...i need them, you don't understand... (that was meant to like the way an addict would btw...) :)
- Zee.
agreed.. and I can drag the labels to and from.. but I have to go to settings to decide which are shown? On a related note, will Gmail ever not be beta?
- Tim Hoeck
For many years, I used a Kinesis. http://www.kinesis-ergo.com/contour... They are actually really great keyboards and I recommend them highly, since they put your hands in a natural rest position as you use it. Also, using your right thumb for space and your left thumb for backspace (you can reverse them, along with re-assigning all the other keys) is just cool.
- Phil G
Agreed, the price is steep. But they are fully programmable for macros and I believe have been certified by kinesiologists (sp) to reduce RSI, so if it is for work, that would be a good justification for needing it. Just like that big 6-way adjustable chair.
- Phil G
One big difference between the Goldtouch and the Kinesis is that the Goldtouch is adjustable, in width between halves and angle
- Alex Scoble
It was the recommended choice by our ergo consultant when I worked at a law firm
- Alex Scoble
Thanks Alex. Looks like there isn't an inexpensive way to scratch this itch.
- Mark Trapp
No. Your entry level Microsoft "Ergo" keyboard probably won't cut it if you have serious issues.
- Alex Scoble
None of the good ergo products are cheap. Good thing you didn't ask about good adjustable keyboard trays.
- Alex Scoble
Ugh, I've dealt with those, and ergonomic desks. Highway robbery!
- Mark Trapp
Yeah, but a good keyboard tray is worth it. For me a good keyboard tray is the difference between being in pain and not. So I have the same tray at home and at work. A good keyboard won't do anything for you if it's not in the right position.
- Alex Scoble
The MS Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 is a great deal for under $50 oem version http://www.newegg.com/Product... although the more expensive options look interesting too

Not only does this show the effect of FF specifically - but also the importance of aggregated content outposts in general - http://louisgray.com/live...
- andy brudtkuhl
Maybe I should spend bit more time on FF as well. It's nowhere near the top for me. Now if we could see the right side of the Analytics screenshot as well to get a better sense of how well it really does.
- Marko Saric
@Marko good point... Of my top 10 traffic sources, FriendFeed has the lowest bounce rate and highest time on site
- andy brudtkuhl
I clearly need to get to bed because I saw this at the top of the page and thought, "Wait. It's Sunday already? Where did the week go?" ooph.

Conventional logic holds that people don't carry baseballs around with them. Conventionally, would you think a person with pockets full of baseballs as "normal"? Do you carry everything you own in case you have to logically prove to someone that you own it in the event that some conventional debate arises?
- Darian Rawson
Omg I found it. Derrick, one more! :)
- Mona Nomura
Are you familiar with "Russell's Teapot?" : "If I were to suggest that between the Earth and Mars there is a china teapot revolving about the sun in an elliptical orbit, nobody would be able to disprove my assertion provided I were careful to add that the teapot is too small to be revealed even by our most powerful telescopes. But if I were to go on to say that, since my assertion...

I've never known a christian to react like that when someone asks to prove Gods existence. If someone is sincerly asking the question we'll usually talk about why we believe. If someone is being hostile I'll walk away.
- ChiliMac
ChiliMac, on a serious note, it's really dependent on the parties conversing. I've openly had many discussions on religion. It's also helpful to comprehend the other party's(ies') views and backgrounds, to have amicable discussions. :)
- Mona Nomura
Mona: You are absolutely right, it does depend on the parties. I believe most people still know how to and are polite and respectful of one another. I was having this conversation with a friend from my church the other night. His roommate had criticized him for reading books by Dawkins. We disagreed with him. We should understand those who have different opinions then ours and be respectful to one another.
- ChiliMac
could also be titled "conventional logic vs evolutionist logic" or "conventional logic vs global warming logic". i see more unfounded dogma from these two groups than any other.
- Brooks Bayne
Yeah, Brooks... or "conventional logic vs. round Earth logic," or "conventional logic vs. heliocentric solar system logic." I'm sick of dogmatic round-Earth liberals! If the Earth is so round, why don't Australians fall into space? Eh? Answer that secular libs!
- Christopher A Carr
Definitely something Richard Dawkins would approve of! :) And @ChristopherCarr - the Celestial Teapot was the first thing I thought of when I saw this.
- jack
Tina, I'm trying to decide who I want to eat first. :)
- Rochelle
OK - I've been hiding all the compatibility charts out of sheer annoyance, but this one can stay. It's just plain funny, and possibly plain delicious to boot!
- Sparky, a big deal
Trish, you were the inspiration for this. When I saw you say yesterday that you weren't on anyone's pie graph, I mentioned to Akiva that I should edit a pie graph to include your name. Then one thing led to another and then I was baking a pie and then making the flags and TA-DA!
- Rochelle
First app i bought when i got my iPhone. Actually paid for the pro version. Have been waiting for this update for SO long. I'm impressed, been playing with it today, still a few things in i dont know what they do yet, but its replaced Twitterfon in my dock which took its original place months back. Its bang up to date with all the new features you'd expect. Maybe a bit fidly to get used...

I swear that pilot episode is one of the best things I've ever seen.
- Derrick
Anne, yes. I figure I've forgotten so much, and since it will end soon, it's fun to re-watch it now to see all the details I've missed.
- Cristo
I'm so lost now that I'll wait to review right before the start of the last season.
- Anne Bouey
I just got into Lost as well. I am into the second season.. not as good.. but I hear three is awesome!
- Kyle Lacy
Kyle, I didn't just get into it. I've been watching since it started, but you are in for some great twists. The current season is pretty good.
- Cristo
oh goodness I just really looked at this picture. it so fits me right now becuase i am trying to stay awake until the season premiere of House
- R. Ferguson
Hahahhahaa And a few months later, this is *still* me!
- Mona Nomura
...and you're still a lovely couple :D
- WorldofHiglet
Hahaha! Looking at all the older posts is making me nostalgic. My feed is now boring filled with Tweets. I'm going to start posting fun stuff again.
- Mona Nomura
Whoa look at that fro! Actually looks a lot like your avvie just minus the hair :)
- Lindsey is Fierce!
cute. i bet your hair weighed more than you did!

I think the Afro needs to return. The closest I've seen to a 21st century Afro was the best friend in High School Musical. But it doesn't compare to Afros back in the day.

I see this is going to do nothing to stop this from being my most popular flickr photo :-)
- Jason Toney
oh, oh, oh. still my favorite. still my favorite. the drooled-on lower lip, the slightly gappy front teeth, the citrus-slice shape of the grin, the barely-there eyebrows, the miniature ears, the aura around the hair, the feetsies...

Here's my (obvious) prediction about FriendFeed's business model: 1) Ads - FriendFeed will implement Google ads + banners across the page and IMO they'll match the headlines. 2) Premium accounts - $25 package per year will allow premium users to upload unlimited images, videos etc.
Additionally, those who pay will have ads free and some other goodies that FriendFeed plans to release in the future like (maybe) voice chat, personal designed page with replaceable themes and more. All users will be able to post directly to Facebook without 3rd party apps (like Twitter).
- Nir Ben Yona
Why not. We can easily imagine efficient personalized ads thanks to the items we share, like & comment
- Stanislas Jourdan
Sure. I wasn't eliminating this or going against it, just pointing out :)
- Nir Ben Yona
Just remember- this is not a competition, just an exhibition. @Kyle - ever been to Culver, IN? Grew up there before moving to Chicago.
- michael sean wright
Nice: I have been to Culver! You are in Chicago now? I will have to let you know next time I am up your way.
- Kyle Lacy
Not sure about that, but: "Time present and time past are both perhaps present in time future and time future contained in time past. If all time is eternally present all time is unredeemable." - Swatch, Always Now, 1997 (and yes my lunch, at 1:42am local, is consisting of a double martini so that actually makes some sense to me)
- David HC Soul
are you saying that time "now" has no meaning? i (obv.) reject this but toast your willingness to acknowledge the wisdom of a dean martin martini. now, for you sir, on to the work of most importance. focus on the permanent.
- michael sean wright
Well, I will grant that the sentiment of French Marshall Lyautey has some merit (he asked his gardener to plant a tree and when the gardener objected that the tree was slow growing and would not reach maturity for 100 years the Marshall was said to have replied, 'In that case, there is no time to lose; plant it this afternoon!').... So I am off to plant some trees....
- David HC Soul
you, i like. and will point you to Hermann Hesse before he won the Nobel Prize for 'The Glass Bead Game' in which he wrote in in the idyllic poem "Hours in the Garden" (1936)- 'I hear music and see men of the past and future. I see wise men and poets and scholars and artists harmoniously building the hundred-gated cathedral of the Mind." - (forword to Glass Bead Game by by Hermann Hesse by Theodore Ziolkowski.)
- michael sean wright
Thanks for the pointer - I'll go search it out.
- David HC Soul
I hope so. The thought is consuming much of my waking hours these days.... But I have to be up in 5 hours... so will have to return to the 'nightcrew' tomorrow night. One thing about time is it does seem to age one....

sleep perchance to dream, a wise man said. Billy Shakespeare.
- michael sean wright
Then pause now to ask yourself the following question: "Am I dreaming or awake, right now?"

Idem for comments. That would make sense if you only want to subscribe to likes but not comments. Or to make "likes" appear even with FoaF entries hidden (not sure about this one). Any one tried?
- Jérôme Flipo
It has even special UI support. I subscribed to "Shey's Likes" to test. When one of Shey's Likes appears in my feed, "(via Shey's Likes)" is added. This is different from the regular "(Shey liked this)" which would appear if I was subscribed to Shey's own feed. I can't imagine myself wanting to see someone's likes without seeing someone's post... But well.. The ability is there. :)
- Meryn Stol
Jerome makes a good point. Maybe at some point in time I would want to disable FoaF entries in general. By being able to subscribe to someone's likes explicitly I could - in effect - add exceptions to that rule.
- Meryn Stol
