Because... You can't do a side-by-side with personal experience. What rocks one person's boat is a meh for another. People like to overlook short commings in favour of their teams positives (both sides). People need a winner... Actually, fanatics need a winner, people don't care. They just want a kick-ass phone. Sum of it's parts kinda thing. Keep rocking what you want Chris :)

It just doesn't make sense. The Evo's battery life isn't going to get better, and based on my own cursory research, leading pundits are seeing the same issue.

Exactly... but it doesn't matter. I don't have Flash on the iPhone, I can only sync with one computer... It's down to feature nitpicks. No matter what hill they stand on, no matter how much rubbish is lying on the ground, FANaddicts will still look at the other hills and pronounce why that hill sucks compared to theirs... and the rest of humanity walks through the valleys getting on with life.

Johnny Worthington just leveled up (actually, it probably happened before; so I'm just playing catch-up)

That's pretty much an apples to oranges comparison, and therefore I agree. It's a stupid comparison. I ditched my iPhone 3G on AT&T's crappy 3G network for HTC Incredible on Verizon's 3G EVDO network. I bet my Incredible gets better battery life than the EVO. I don't need (want) a 4G wimax (sucky tech) modem in addition to Sprint 3G CDMA tech crammed into a single device. No wonder the EVO is so big. How many radios does it have anyway? The EVO is an intermediate device that will be relevant until the *REAL* 4G LTE networks come online next year. I'll take Verizon 3G over 4G Wimax (especially for the price) any day (especially given 4G coverage vs. Verizon 3G. I'll also take the Snapdragon 1Ghz chip over my old iPhone 3G. There. That's my position and I'm sticking with it. Anyone want to buy my iPhone 3G? #suckitapple

I wonder if Alexander Graham Bell and Antonio Meucci had fanbois...
- Johnny
The Alexander geeks would be called Fanbells.
- Micah
"Graham Crackers" would probably be the derogatory. =)

Brian, everything else you said notwithstanding (because it's all opinion and personal preference, which is fine), what do you mean "especially for the price"? Are you implying that the Incredible is cheaper? The EVO on contract is the same price as the Incredible. And the monthly data plans for individuals on Sprint are far cheaper than VZW.

Chieze - I was comparing my plan with iPhone 3G on AT&T to my plan with Incredible on Verizon. It's at least $40 cheaper for comparable services
