"Subduction, Even modern institutional cremation leaves some forensically identifiable information. The issue of leaving little evidence is not only time, but temperature - and there are very few natural situations where you...er, anyone could mimic the conditions (nearly constant and extended overall exposure to 1800F+) of a crematorium. Sadly, many people believe they can start or set fire to a body and/or nearby property and that it will produce cremains. Such is not the case, and prisons are full of people who left clear evidence of arson and merely (externally) charred remains of someone they thought they had cleverly murdered. Of course, I am but a Firefighter, and a more detailed and scientific answer can be easily obtained from your local Medical Examiner/Coroner. I hope this helps. Respectfully Yours in Safety and Service, Brian Humphrey Firefighter/Specialist Public Service Officer Los Angeles Fire Department"

"Thanks for the reply. No worries! As active participants in new media, we know articles can have a long tail. Purely for historical accuracy (when someone finds this thread in 2035), we wanted to make sure our participation - or lack thereof in this event were properly chronicled. Yes, we're on Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/user... ...but not terribly active there. A quick search at Google will highlight many of the 100+ projects and sites we utilize. Again, thanks and please don't hesitate to contact us whenever we can be of assistance. Respectfully Yours in Safety and Service, Brian Humphrey Firefighter/Specialist Public Service Officer Los Angeles Fire Department"

"While we understand the challenge and frustration, it is important to note - given the title of this Digg entry, that the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) was not in any way involved with this incident in Inglewood, California. The City of Inglewood and the venue are protected by our friends at the Los Angeles *County* Fire Department (LACoFD). The LAFD and LACoFD are separate agencies. A correction to the mistaken LAFD mention has already been made by The Los Angeles Times (see their article via the Digg link). While our agency has its own issues of late, the Hard Summer concert was not one of them. Respectfully Yours in Safety and Service, Brian Humphrey Firefighter/Specialist Public Service Officer Los Angeles Fire Department"
