You know what I *am* thinking about? I might play with the D90 video a bit at the party. I really like the cinematic feel of manual focus and shallow depth of field.

I surprisingly got work done today, but I think that's just because I have a week of vacation coming up, and want come back with minimal email waiting.

I'm thinking about lunch, and after lunch I'll be thinking about 4:30.

I have absolutely no desire to use anything but Firefox. What am I missing?
- John Flinchbaugh
really, really fast. very minimalist browser. the extension system is apparently on its way, but firefox is still my browser of choice for doing webdev work. for day to day browsing though I find myself opening up chrome instead of safari.

I've held this same opinion since the app store was created. I still refuse to build native iphone apps because I don't like the handcuffs you have to accept.

I'm kind of seriously shopping for a flat panel TV. Prices really seem to have dropped so maybe I'll find myself a really awesome deal as the holidays approach.
Figures, I find a TV I am quite interested in with a very nice sale price, and today it's not on sale anymore. I didn't even get a couple of days to think about it.

Google maps didn't have my address pinned to the right place, probably because it still has construction images of my neighborhood, so I moved the pin! I think I also found a misspelled street name in my neighborhood, but I should probably double check the sign to make sure I'm not the one spelling it wrong.
- stacey
If the roads are anything like where I grew up, you should check the spelling at both ends of the street to see if it matches, too.

The spelling is just slightly better on this side of the river, I think.

After way too much debugging, it seems that the Updater thing can't find the actual update to download, so I guess I'll wait a bit and try later.
- John Flinchbaugh
Still a 404 in the logs. As a North American user, I've waited 3 months longer than European users for the update, so what's another day?
- John Flinchbaugh
Does this update finally enable the touchscreen on your phone?
- Larry Myers
No. It's not a greasy touch screen device. ;) I'm an update whore -- I'll take whatever new features or improvements it gives me. I'm expecting better stability with lots of applications running and html mail enhancements.

File still not found this morning when I tried it, and now, my battery's a bit lower than it wants.

There were tons of bystanders watching the aftermath last night. Saw most of our neighbors. Have no clue how people got out of the car that upended on the utility pole. Was way impressed with the response time of the city emergency vehicles.
- Larry Myers
I don't know why, but Lisa and I have called that road Farmingdaleton ever since we've moved here. Struck us as funny. We're odd people.
- Larry Myers
So what did you think of the trail, John?
- stacey
It's a nice little walk. We just let Paige take the lead -- lots of choices between creek and woods trails. Check it out near sunset -- lots of great light streaming down the trails.

Generally, if you hear portlet once, the presentation is going to be about portlets, and it'll be said lots more. Portlets seldom come alone.
- John Flinchbaugh
I've got portlet being used more than once in a sentence. It's like the guy gets paid per use of the word. Not that I mind considering the amusement I get from the word.

Java web development: getting it horribly wrong since 1998.
- Larry Myers
But think of the synergies created when your decoupled portlet (portlet, portlet...) code is integrated at the glass automatically by the cross-platform container. And don't worry, we offer support contracts.
- John Flinchbaugh
Wait...you're picturing these people working with portable toilets through all the sales presentations, aren't you?
- John Flinchbaugh
No, no porta potties. At least not until now. Thanks for ruining a good thing. ;)

No need apologize Obama, he was being a jackass. Maybe next Kanye will start pushing down 4 year olds on the playground?

I think They Might Be Giants have actually gotten more awesome as I've gotten older. They were my first real live concert experience as well when I saw them in St. Louis at Mississippi Nights in '96.
