Checked Facebook. Sure enough, over 500 Jernbergs, mostly in Sweden and the US. Searched for my name; sure enough, there's 3 Dennis Jernbergs, one in Sweden (I hear there's at least 2 there). I'm the only really active one there, and the only one with a profile photo.

I would really like the US anti-trust bodies to have a long hard look at Apple. To me they have always come across as an arrogant company but had little impact on me. However now the "I know better than you what you want and you cannot use anything that I don't let you use" I becoming a real pain in the arse.

Apple currently makes most of its revenue from the iphone. A very fragile business plan if you ask me. I think Apple is getting desperate for back-up evil plans. An overpriced tablet maybe? Nah, it won't work.

I just wanted to say that this Echo uses alot of CPU cycles. I am using Google Chrome and every time the page updates I get lag. Maybe its just my system?

Seems a great idea and really works well. Nice functionality! However, I only think it could be useful for news sites (e.g. techcrunch that are commment-insensitive. Realtime matters for them.

Jose: the thing is, they laid off people last fall. They also don't have Amazon's brand. Everyone I know uses Amazon. Not everyone I know uses Zappos. This makes both brands better.

@Scobleizer -- Zappos is tightly focused on culture and customer service, which has done them very well, I think Jeff will be able to help them move to the major presence they need to be. I don't see a conflict, I think Amazon can teach them a thing or two about business, and maybe, if the timing is right and people are open, Tony can teach zappos a thing or two about culture and loving your job

Thanks @scobleizer Just caught wind of the acquisition and it sounds like a good match to me despite the culture differences. Culture will take a hit, it's inevitable but hopefully Amazon will bring some interesting elements to the table to balance things out. One of my favorite photography sites http://www.dpreview.com was purchased by Amazon and at least outwardly the site has only improved.

Simone: being free is not the same as being heard. The Iranians aren't fighting for freedom. They are fighting to have their voices listened to. The guy they are supporting isn't all that great either, if you look into his past and, anyway, above them is a religiously-run government. A fight for a free Iran will play out another day. This fight is simply to be heard. That's what that girl died for this morning.

Simone: that makes sense, I agree, that if they were heard they would be free. I'd rather focus on what they want, rather than pushing American values, though. Freedom is gained step by step. Heck, even here in the United States we aren't completely free and aren't completely being listened to. Just try to get a gay marriage, for instance.

Thanks Robert. I agree with what you say. For me being green just show the people in Iran in a very simple visual manner that we are in thoughts with them. This is only a first and not very concrete step I agree... and we should do more in sincere and respectful memory of this women of Iran... This image of the abyssal waste of a life, her life is devastating.

Every tweet we make (for good or ill) is possible because of the sacrifices of those who came before us (great or small). We did not earn these freedoms. They are a gift given to us without merit. In many ways, those who are on the streets of Tehran today have earned the very freedoms that we casually discount. It was beautiful to see volunteers around the world setting up proxies for Iran as well. There were blogs going up in all languages with detailed instructions on proxies in many countries. Geeks unite! It was an ever changing and constant sea. Luke put it best with "whack a mole."
