"Yesterday, webcasters reached a settlement with SoundExchange that saw rates rise, but not to the stratospheric levels feared. Most involved praised the agreement; Pandora among them. To help absorb the higher costs, Pandora will cap listeners at 40 a month unless they pay 99 cents to unlock the service for the remainder of the month."

"According to the new document, Sony product will only be available to US subscribers, but they may add the UK, EU and Canada in the future. "We don’t currently have a timetable for when this will happen..." says eMusic. But despite the lack of new product, new non-US subscribers are getting a price increase and current members are not. "We’re doing this for two reasons: To help attract new labels and bring back those we all miss and keep us where we need to be as a business.""

I've been using emusic from outside of these countries for 3 years. Relieved to see this won't affect my annual sub, which remains the same at $95 for 40 tracks per month.

Howard: on the website they say it will be changed to 35 songs per month for twice the money as soon as my subscription rolls over next January. That's more than twice the money.

My guilty pleasures: George Michael (the songs with straight lyrics), Wham! and Lucas Prata. And yes, I am straight. I just like the sensuality of the sound. That said, I've never deleted a scrobble, EVER. My Last.fm profile is me, take it or leave it.

The 'most unwanted scrobbles' is a total waste of programming effort. No redeeming value, from my viewpoint. However, it's not the worst thing in the Playground. That honor goes to 'Musical Soulmates', which has not worked for months (if ever).

of course you would love the metal gear series to be made into a movie but really that will be a failed attempt it'd be more feasible for a splinter cell flick devil mat cry and fallout are just asking to be movies like this moment and zelda and castlevania are old franchises that would only been done right with a lord of the rings type budget and isnt GTA already a movie.... ;)

Metal Gear solid would be a massive massive failure. I remember it took me days to finish the game. The movie would be snake making his way towards a warehouse or something, then a guard comes near, so he has to run back and hide. 2 hours of that no thank you! :)

"If the world's biggest pop star only made $12 million a year from his recordings, why would anyone make serious music? Where did the rest of the money go? Why, straight into record labels' pockets. Did they make better music with it? Nope — they made Britney and Lady GaGa. And that's how they killed themselves: by underinvesting in quality, to rake in the take...."

I've included links to articles on Hypebot about each act or to their web site. This very short list is just to get things started. Will you help me add to it?"

About 33 percent of Twitter users have purchased a physical CD and 34 percent have bought a digital download in the last three months, the report said. About 23 percent of non-Twitter users bought a CD and 16 percent purchased digital downloads. Users of the micro-blogging site are also less likely to conserve their cash - people on Twitter purchased 77 percent more digital downloads than those not on the site."

"The silver lining is that the RIAA’s morons — by carrying it to the logical extreme — have bolstered the constitutional argument. If they were smart they would have asked for $750 - $3,000 per work. By allowing this to happen, they now have this public relations fiasco. They’ve been going all over the world to ask governments for help. This will force governments to take a second look. ‘What are you kidding, we’re gonig to give these maniacs information to go sue our citizens?’"
