Yeah, that definitely sucks. But alas, I think I'll be doing the same thing. Mine is because I procrastinate way too much, so now I've got to finish this philosophy paper for tomorrow. Damn Gen-Ed classes. - Lee Adkins

"They're digging you down because the source code released is, in fact, the source code for a full Chrome browser. Download the code (if you can get it to not time out because of too much traffic), build it in Visual Studio, and you will get the Chrome browser for Windows. Granted, that doesn't help Linux users, and we are in the Linux/Unix section, but yeah. You are correct, though, that the port to Linux isn't even remotely close to useful yet, and any code released pertaining to a Linux port would not appear to be much of anything other than an engine at this point." - Lee Adkins

"The selection of Biden, while a huge political play, was to add experience in foreign policy to the ticket, something that could prove useful to Obama and the country should he get elected. The selection of Palin was simply an attempt to bring over Clinton supporters and to show that, hey, McCain is up on this "change" thing the kids are raving about. For all the talk McCain had about Obama's lack of experience, naming Palin is definitely not the best choice for him." - Lee Adkins

"The concept of "selling" doesn't have to involve money changing hands. The term is often used when talking about convincing someone of something else, in this case, convincing someone that Linux is good alternative to other operating systems they've encountered. Linux *has* to be "sold" these days. Otherwise, people will just continue using whatever they're given rather than finding the right solution for themselves." - Lee Adkins

So, because many Digg users (which is, after all, where Digg's outbound traffic comes from) are now tending to only click links to print news sources, we should start rumoring that Digg might be in acquisition talks with a news company? I'm not so sure I follow their logic, but maybe I'm not thinking about the article the right way (I also didn't click through to the linked article in the Inquisitor article, so maybe I missed something there). - Lee Adkins

You could always write and hope they publish it. I refuse to ever go back to AT&T Wireless after what they did to me. I almost had to take them to small claims court for it. - Candace Holly
It's one thing for an employee to suggest that most stores around are completely out. Heck, they might have genuinely thought that. However, locking someone into an order that isn't cancelable with no real ETA is completely ridiculous. There is no reason AT&T shouldn't allow you to waltz back in and retrieve the money you gave them for an order they were unable to fulfill. I mean, I can cancel an order on Amazon before it ships if I need to. Surely they could have figured it out, too. - Lee Adkins

Have You or Are You Switching from PC to Mac?
July 9 at 10:22 pm - Link
Yes! MacBook Pro. I bought it last week and it's my first Mac ever. I'm not technically switching since I will still continue to use a PC but I consider this a huge step. I love my new machine. - Ryan
I may... well, not "switching" so to say but to get a Mac to do my photo/video editing on. - Outsanity
I've been a MacBook user for over three months now. Man, what a great decision that was. - James Mowery via twhirl
My friend switched late last year. That, coupled with OSX86 (which let me test drive some Mac apps before I jumped), got me to purchase my first Mac in January. Now, after playing with my Macbook, three more of my friends are buying Macs this year. All it takes is getting their hands on one. That's when the bug bites. - Lee Adkins
Already did many months ago. Still have a number of boxes I built or bought, buy the Mac is my main machine at home now. PC laptop for work. - BISQ
Switched a few months back. Very happy, and running Windows apps when necessary via Fusion. - Patrick Jordan
Once you go Mac, you don't go back! - Mona N.
How about the other way around? :D - Rom Feria

yup, 4months in mbpro - fijidaddy
Nope, never (never say..) will I go for Macs (except for derived-by-concept iPods (/w 14 of them I know broken/replaced) with one of them that was destroyed by me [getting it to read an IDE HDD drive with WMAs (can be done with the first model, that I did pre-order from their factory in... Sheng Liang or something like that, not sure.. thinking of it anyways, their first point of delivery...) - Zu aka ElijahBailey
yup, switched a little over a year ago - Charlie via twhirl
switched... in early 2004 (gosh, that long ago?) - Stephanie Booth
Switched over 18 months ago. I'm a UNIX guy so Mac OS X is perfect for me and I no longer have to put up with endless wizards, irritating search dogs, or annoying ballon tips. - Paul Grav
Switched already in june 2006 - luca Filigheddu
Using both, but definitely "bought in" as I now have a MB Pro and an iMac at home for the family to use. You pay a premium, but the hardware is solid. I still have a Vista workstation at work and at home though, which run great overall. - Jeremy Hall
i switched cant make my wife switch though. due to 1 game she scratch that I have heavily invested in for her - Jay Martinez via twhirl
Switched to Mac about 2 years ago and never looked back. - Michael Nally via twhirl
Switched last year to a MacBook Pro, life hasn't been the same since. The Mac is a computer that you actually have feelings for! Saves time in about a million ways, maintains my sanity, gets things done. In this one year period, I rescued 4 more people from the torture of Microsoft. If only I could replace my work computer to a Mac as well. - Parth Awasthi
