I like Bob Lefsetz and while I don't always agree with him I think the music industry is lucky to have such a prolific and unfiltered voice of dissent. I originally discovered Bob via the Rhino podcast many years ago. The podcast included "The Lefsetz Letter", a portion of the show where an animated character (Bob) would tell you a story about some music he loved and how that music impacted him and his life. I remember one story in particular...

I've studied a few of the courses at BerkleeMusic, and am a fan of their tutors and course writers. Mike King's outlook on the future of the industry is very in line with what I see happening, and I learn a lot from his ideas and experience. I found that they have recently added a course dealing with Topspin, and thought I'd share the info here...

"The Disposable Film Festival was created in 2007 to celebrate the artistic potential of disposable video: short films made on non-professional devices such as one-time use video cameras, cell phones, point and shoot cameras, webcams, computer screen capture software, and other readily available video capture devices. With people everywhere gaining access to these devices, it was felt that the time was right to draw attention to the creative potential of this new mode of filmmaking. Far beyond its initial roles for video blogging and documentation, the DFF offers a forum to display how disposable media can be used for creative purposes. The DFF hosts screenings, competitions, and other events to showcase the best work within the disposable genre."
