What is the pickled lime like? I grew up eating Mother's pickled mango, but never got around to trying the other stuff.

Anika, if you like extra-tangy coupled with hot, you'll like this. I prefer Mother's pickled lime over their pickled mango though I like the mango too.

I'm almost out of mango, so I was going to go pick up a jar this week. Maybe I'll see if I can find a smaller jar of the lime.
- Anika
And I like how you keep your seasonings. I even have those same jars and never thought of putting my seasonings in them.

Got them recently from Ikea. The chilli powder in the pic just got poured into one of them. I love the colors now - yellow, red, green...small pleasures :).

Mines hold beading stuff or hardware stuff. =)
- Anika
Empty them out and fill them with spices...mmmmm... metallic tasting turmeric.
- The Fat Oracle
LOL IIRC, They're were pretty cheap at Ikea. I think I'll just pick up some new ones.
- Anika
And dangitall, now I want your dinner. I wasn't even hungry 10 minutes ago!
- Anika
Hahaha, now you know how I feel when I come across your food posts. You are welcome.
- The Fat Oracle
Hey, that's not fair! My food never looks this good. I'm gonna have to go eat the last of my pickled mangos and cry. *pouts*
- Anika
Just means you get your hands on the lime pickles quicker so go for it.

The WHO made official this week what was already obvious: the swine flu is pandemic and “unstoppable.” (Breakfast table conversation: “When’s this swine flu going to stop?” “When it’s everywhere.”) While most experts wondered about swine flu’s toll in the southern hemisphere’s upcoming flu season, or worried about the I’ll-be-hiding-in-the-basement possibility of swine flu mixing with H5N1 bird flu, the pork industry continued to flog its two-month-old mix of disingenuity and evasion wrapped in self-interest. ”Pork Producers Suffering from Misnamed Flu Virus,” proclaimed an article headline from Pork News, the “business magazine for professional pork producers.” The article echoes repeats the industry’s stock position: “We are troubled by the continued misnaming of this virus as the ‘swine flu’ … incorrect association … this virus has not been found in any pigs in the U.S..” Back when the outbreak started, when agro interests, with the help of political officials like helpless U.S....

"U.S. scientists have found a way to levitate the very smallest objects using the strange forces of quantum mechanics, and said on Wednesday they might use it to help make tiny nanotechnology machines. They said they had detected and measured a force that comes into play at the molecular level using certain combinations of molecules that repel one another."

#10: "What They'll Say: Hi there! Long time no see! Just over here in Liverpool and killing time before the Premier League match - downing a few pints, you know? - and spotted you on the internet. I might have found you earlier, but there's no internet in South America (at least, not worth using ;) and the net cafes were too expensive in Japan. I'm moving around a fair bit at the...

"What’s Wrong with Web Forms? Many developers agree that the Postback and ViewState model employed by Web Forms causes pain and heartache. A quick Google search for “ViewState problem” and “Postback problem” brings back 300,000+ and 400,000+ results, respectively. Scott Guthrie reports that a lot of customer have voiced concern about the Web Forms model and had requested an MVC framework to simplify Web application development. In this author’s opinion, the main problem with Web Forms is that it employs an elaborate scheme to hide the developer from the stateless nature of HTTP. With event handlers and the page lifecycle, the developer falls into managing state with ViewState and Postbacks, and when employed in the reality of the stateless Web, the model becomes fragile and has problems scaling with complexity."
