teejayhanton: soupsoup: generic1: Tonight was the worst of all possible outcomes. In New York, the wingnuts lost, teaching the conservative activists a valuable lesson about electoral math. It’s a lesson I didn’t want them to learn. In Virginia & New Jersey … a loss is a loss is a loss. I don’t care what the cross-tabs didn’t indicate about Obama.... - http://thebob.tumblr.com/post...
I already use both FB and flickr. But manually tagging is such a pain in the butt.
- Bob Blunk
Ever heard of Polar Rose? Autotagging for Flickr n FB photos through face recognition. Time saver!
- shoffis
thanks. I will have to check that out. the interface for faces in iPhoto is absolutely dreadful.

Just checked into FF for the first time in a while and realized it turned into what Scoble feared it would...a Twitter Aggregation. The conversation is gone. Oh, well, back to FB and Twitter I guess.
Yes - it's really too bad. (I wonder if it would have been any different if Scoble had continued to promote & support FF instead of being the first one to start hammering nails in its coffin.)
- Matthew Blaisdell
I wasn't the first. And, no, it wouldn't have mattered what I did.
- Robert Scoble
from iPhone
it is a self-fulfilling prophecy since being inactive means that people will be less likely to comment on your posts
- Mike Chelen
I don't know -- there is more conversation already than is common on Twitter and/or Facebook.
- Brian Sullivan
There's lots of conversation. You must be following the wrong people. Use Advanced Search to find some interesting stuff and redo your subscriptions accordingly.
- Bruce Lewis
This is like saying, 'Just checked on the bike I had left out in the rain and realized it turned into rust just like my friend said it would. Oh well, back to walking to work.'
- Akiva Moskovitz
Interesting -- people that don't post on FF, use it as an aggregator, and rarely or never comment are complaining about lack of conversation. I am agree with Mike and Akiva.
- Brian Sullivan
on the plus side, at least if they check in on occaision it may become apparent that there is a shiny bike underneath all that rust ;)
- Mike Chelen
/me hands Mike a bottle of rust remover
- Tyson Key
This post cracks me up. There's plenty of conversation on FriendFeed, but not unless you're willing to actually CONVERSE with people instead of looking at your aggregated feed with no comments and declaring it dead. How many times do we have to point out that you get what you give on FriendFeed??? Give nothing, you get nothing back. Don't blame the medium.
- Her Lindsay-ness
people have conversations on Twitter?
- Mike Nencetti
I've had several conversations on Twitter in the past, although they often end up either crossing over to e-mail or IM, or are frozen on Twitter after the first 2 Tweets or so, and discussion moves onto FriendFeed.
- Tyson Key
In my feed, there is a lot of conversation. Who are you subscribed to?
- Eric @ CS Techcast
And another point -- many users here hide Twitter and/or Tumblr posts -- if that is all you post you will not get much uptake.
- Brian Sullivan
I find it so strange that people will say something like this... ."Oh man.... Service A has turned into a shithole just like Service B. Oh well, back to Service B". Is it that a knock-off shithole isn't good enough for you?
- Jan Ole Peek
Yep...16 comments on this twitter knockoff thread...no conversation here.
- Alex Scoble
and judging by this dude's feed, thats where he spends most of his time too. nothing to see here, except the most interaction he ever got on FF. pfft.
- Carlos Ayala
What Carlos said. Change "it" in the title to "I".
- Josh Haley
Tyson: promise from now on its staying in the garage :D
- Mike Chelen
Brian: items imported from other services spark conversations depending on replies, including from the original poster
- Mike Chelen
I wonder if he knows there is a conversation on this thread ?
- Eric Logan
Nope: no conversations here -gotta go to FB i guess - Where did you guys go? Am I alone?
- ThatDBD
I don't think he's paying attention to the conversation here. After all, it can't be happening because FF is dead.
- John (a.k.a. dendroica)
FriendFeed speaks from beyond the grave, of course. ;)
- Tyson Key
What the eff is going on here? FF is dead. You all must lay down immediately! (No...you CANNOT remove your pants first....geez)
- Rahsheen ™, Coach of FF
Wouldn't FB just invite you to "Reconnect" with FriendFeed, though? ;)
- Tyson Key
Tyson, let's just superpoke FF a few times, that'll wake it up.
- Stephen Mack
Rahsheen: then everyone must be zombies. *EATS BRAINS*
- Mike Chelen
funny, i blocked Twitter entries and still get TONS of activity on FF. plenty of conversation, as well.
- Joe Silence is not dead
It doesn't seem like he is getting any conversation, here or on Twitter (maybe on FB). I think he just came on here to get Scoble to acknowledge him. #justsayin
- Shevonne
so.... friendfeed is going to be a zombie this year... it's settled, right?
- Chris Heath
+1 Dead Silence, I do not mix Twitter & FF, and vastly prefer FF.
- Lo
Commenting because all the cool kids are commenting. Also, anyone who is not a zombie, you are not alone! >.>
- Heather
haha, okay so you all proved my wrong. Just checking because the last thing we need is for Scoble to be right again (just kidding Robert). So, maybe I just need to hide the twitter feed and subscribe to all the people commenting here. That should fix it. So, how long until FB does pull the plug on FF?
- Bob Blunk
These are not the Droids you are looking for
- Eric Logan
Bob, no one really knows but my bet is that FB never pulls the plug on FF (at least for as long as the FF employees remain employees of FB), that it gets kept as a passion project and testbed site indefinitely. Paul B. already said last week there's one major (unspecified) feature he wants to add.
- Stephen Mack
that maybe true. but one thing is certain. more FF features will be finding their way into FB. that will minimize the impact and need for FF in the ling run.
- Bob Blunk
from BuddyFeed
@Bob - that's only true if you prefer FB to FF. My "need" for FF is significantly higher than my "need" for FB. I will only go over to FB for my online interactions if FF is no longer available. FF is still very relevant and impactful to me, and I'm not the only one here who feels that way. A lot of us despise FB.
- Her Lindsay-ness
nice, now when they are being melted in the sun with a magnifying glass, it can be for a good cause :D
- Mike Chelen
Construction on what would become the world’s longest marine causeway, connecting Qatar and Bahrain, is due to begin next year, and what a project it is: We’re talking about a bridge more than 13 miles long, costing around $3 billion.
