doesn't surprise me... I think I have about 50 Turk friends I met through this site... curious as to why it's so popular among Turks, though...
- T. Brent, technopeasant
Easyness in usage, and allowing more character usage (It's only 140 in Twitter) .Most of all, ''We, The Turks , like arguments, argue on almost everything, at FF comment box we apply it with ease.Lot can be added ..@Eren CAN: For support ''Turkish'' , could certainly be one of the reasons, why not? Biz Türkler inanılmaz işlere imza atabiliriz (Bazen çok basit, ortak menfaatlerimizde uzlaşamasak da !) Sevgi-Saygılarımla...
- Dedegi
@yemlihaipek thanks. Now the Turkey is first and ranking of FrF by country is again for Turkey....
- atner
It has to be a combination of the reasons that Dedegi mentioned and the fact that Turkey is quite a big country with more than 70 million people. Wonder what the statistics are for the number of friendfeeders per captia (friendfeeders/population). I know that Sweden topped the list for people using social services a couple of years ago when it comes to the percentages, but I don't think we are that high up on friendfeed, which hasn't caught on here for some strange reason.
- Magnus
@magnus friendfeeders/population formula can be wrong. "friendfeeders/ internet users" is more determinative.
- Türk Serpico
@Turk Serpico. Yes, but even so, a modern country like Turkey will due to the size of the population have much more internet users than countrys like Iceland, Denmark, Sweden and so on. Even if 100% of our populaton used the internet we wouldn't have the same numbers.
- Magnus
Actually, as far as I can tell, Like in FB does do something: it's basically an empty comment, so you get notified of new comments that occur after you Like it.
- Glen, Bespectacled Elder
@Glen: it's true but what bothers me most is that unlike friendfeed, fb delivers a separate mail for every person that comments on that post. #lame

I would just like to go on record here and clearly state that, were I able to do what this lion is doing, I WOULD NOT! NO! NEVER! EVER! Thank you.

Yesterday I was sent the code "heat" which worked for me. Thanks guys...now to play with it and work on a post for Lifestream Blog.
- Mark Krynsky
I wrote a review of the service today http://lifestreamblog.com/build-a... and the founder created a new invite code for me to use which is 'lifestreamblog' for anyone who wants to try it out. I highly recommend giving this service a try.

"It hunts down the fastest DNS servers available for your computer to use. namebench runs a fair and thorough benchmark using your web browser history, tcpdump output, or standardized datasets in order to provide an individualized recommendation. namebench is completely free and does not modify your system in any way. This project began as a 20% project at Google. namebench runs on Mac OS X, Windows, and UNIX, and is available with a graphical user interface as well as a command-line interface."

I love these sorts of creative things!

I always wish they'd show what these things look like from something other than the exactly perfect perspective. Because to most people passing by these would look totally different.

These never get old. Thanks for sharing. :)

I did that, but I was heading vertical, school had a vaulted ceiling and I went running, stepped on a chair right were it dropped, on impact both shoes fell off, one hit a guy in the face.

wonder if that kid had aspirations of being a stunt guy... "dignity, always with dignity" ;)

If I weren't afraid of going right through the wall, I'd probably still try that. I know I would have done that (and did similar things quite often) when I was much younger.
- Curtiss Grymala
This is still superb this morning after. :-)

Defining the line between brave and stupid?
- Eoghann Irving
If I did that, first the wall would collapse, and then the floor. (So, you see, it's not that I *couldn't*... I just choose not to, for the protection of others.)

You're right. I don't have the guts...and I'm proud of that.

The UBoard is a raised platform upon which you can place your at hand things like your iPhone, notes, books, while the keyboard rests underneath. You can even keep your notebook on the platform while using a full keyboard underneath. The sides hold three USB ports, and the swivel reveals a cup holder and a place for memos & business cards. Most of all, it’s clean, white, and ultra-minimalist!

I'd like to see some computer setups that include a graphics tablet that are convenient and don't take up an excess amount of space or make you stretch awkwardly. I've considered using a split keyboard, one half on one side of the table and the other half on the other side. When drawing, one would mostly be using the keyboard for typing filenames and whatever menu selections and so on that one can't do with the tablet. Does that seem reasonable?
- SuezanneC Baskerville
Clean and white is the main point. :D Still tiresome when the edge of the table is so short your elbow would be hanging mid-air (that's the table's problem though, not the platform).

There's a new group around here, Water the Future and I wonder if they thought about their acronym or if it's just something to make me chuckle every time I see it.

@Nessuno L'hai già provato? Come ti sembra?

"Reader Ted points out one feature we missed in our roundup of Windows 7's best new features: basic player controls when its taskbar icon is hovered over, and even more Jump List controls when the iTunes icon is right-clicked. If you were waiting on a reason to go ahead and upgrade to iTunes 9, even if you lack an iPhone/touch, this one's quite useful, at least if you're planning on upgrading to Windows 7 come Oct. 22."

The minimised toolbar for the task bar is still pretty poor though. You should be able to see the tune etc on it when minimised. However this is a good start.
