Google Commerce is a new hosted search product specifically built for retailers. It seems like it's some sort of bastard child between Google Custom Search, some parts strapped on from Froogle (or Google Products), and who knows what else. You can read the fawning rewrite of a press release over at TechCrunch if you're so inclined. The bottom line is that this is really, really bad for any online retailer who uses it. Let me show you why:

Yep it's all his fault. ;-) Liam employed me for my first job in the computer games industry, back when I was a simple games tester. He's a great web designer now and helps me out with all sorts all the time. :-) Thank you, Liam! :-)

Sorry for the huge delay in thanking you for this introduction Kolin. I was away in Butlin's at the time and then got back and had to recover from the swine flu!

Yes, it wasn't that bad really after the first few days but the cough hangs about for ages. Also not too much fun for Maisy to be on her summer holiday when dad is wanting to sleep 24/7. Somehow we've muddled through. Furthermore, it's much better to catch the flu early on before the damn thing mutates. There should be swine flu parties to help catch it now.

Oh dear, well glad you are better now. Yeah bad timing for Maisy. Those parties sound fun. ;-)

"The man allegedly attacked by England midfielder Steven Gerrard in a Merseyside bar has told a jury he faced a "barrage" of punches."

Guy at the bar should have known that the way to calm Gerrard down to an almost coma-like quality is to simply say: "So, Steven, tell us about the game."

Huyton scally... (am from Huyton too so know what I'm talking about :D) Same part of Liverpool as Joey Barton...

I love the comment about a 'professional boxer'. How is that a state of fact? Sensationalist rubbish but it's clear Gerrard is in trouble.

Looks like he'll be lucky to avoid a (justifiable, given the evidence and plea) stretch inside

"I sometimes have trouble when I’m talking to people at work who aren’t savvy with this whole Web 2.0 thing we’ve got going on here. I use the words Social Networking for some instances and Social Media in others. I don’t explain the differences because to most laypeople, there is none and really, when I start to go into my theory, eyes glaze over and my colleagues suddenly find that the coffee truck must be outside the building somewhere and they have to hurry or Bob from accounting is going to take the last corn muffin."

"But since this is the bread and butter of many of the people reading this right now, I think it’s safe to assume we can skip the gory details and get right into the meat of things. First, is there a difference between Social Media and Social Networking websites? Yes. And no. And it depends."
- Kol Tregaskes
"There is a big distinction in the terms Social Networking and Social Media. While many use these two terms interchangeably, you can separate them and the websites that represent one or another or even both effectively."
- Kol Tregaskes
It's a Venn diagram. Social media is the content, social networking is the relationship & conversation, social bookmarking is leaving links. like any good venn diagram they do intersect
