Today is a potpourri of XML markup: NCIP, OWL, RDF, SRU.
@lukask unfortunately not. Job and life changing priorities will keep me away. Will miss all my #elag peeps
@lukask one which sometimes feels under appreciated.
It is amazing just how good I am at breaking things
OMG I hate NCIP
@ThatAndromeda I don't know if it is Subversion or the plugin for Eclipse I use to talk to Subversion.
@ThatAndromeda Hopefully Subversion and I can not have a small war when I try to do the merge.
Highly productive day. One more set of tests and I can merge the branch I've been working on for a month back into trunk. Yippee!
@reese_terry oh but my job is to sweat the details. Every last little one.
The devil's always in the details
@wanderingeyre Wind supposed to die down so be perfect afternoon for a walk.
@wanderingeyre Those sound super tasty.
More testing and code writing today. Can't think of a happier way to spend Friday.
Another day of testing and documentation fun.
Afraid to leave my seat in airport to use restroom because I don't think there'll be a place to sit when I return :(
Leaving #c4l13 I'm inspired to make my code better
@gluejar Yup, thing I download before still doesn't have DRM.
@gluejar Let me look at my Goodreads and see if I can find said book again and get it DRM free
@gluejar This week I login and the UI is completely different.
@gluejar there are DRM free things in Overdrive. Don't know about O'Reilly but other publishers who are DRM free have stuff in that way
@msuicat @meganoneill Absolutely, but if libraries don't exposure the more coarse representation they may alienate a set of consumers
@meganoneill @msuicat Feels like we could set ourselves up to repeat our past mistake of making systems designed for library savvy users.
@meganoneill @msuicat Worry libraries will expose info at the more detailed level and put a heavier burden on consumers to translate. #c4l13
@meganoneill Gordon has not brought up external library ontologies like http://Schema.org which have another level of granularity.
@meganoneill This is what happens when you have overlapping data models that haven't been rationalized with one another.
@echildress don't think there are wikipedia links in the FAST data as of yet. It would be nice to have an umbel:isLike or owl:sameAs in RDF
@jen_young @chrpr know those peeps and will ping them. The person who worked on adding geocoordinates to headings might be interested
@jen_young @chrpr Sure, events would be cool. I'm all about low hanging fruit that might get incorporated into the FAST dataset.
@jen_young @chrpr I was thinking the same thing and is there a particular type of headings that would be easier to start with. Say Places?
@tararobertson @shlew @msuicat @jordanheit I don't think there are any proposals currently.
