v sad news, but he'd been very ill for a long time. A truly masterly actor. - Isha (Marysia)
I"m glad his ordeal is over, then. But I'll miss him. I may pull out my Crusade DVDs; his conversation with his son (who played Galen the Technomage) is priceless! - LJF Wolffe
Was that Tim? If you find a url for that conversation I'd be interested in it (I had a teeny weeny part on The Lady Windermere's Fan on BBC that Tim starred in. Coincidentally I found the vids for it on Youtube - see Create It FF room). - Isha (Marysia)
Galen was played by Peter Woodward -- who definitely inherited his father's voice. I'll look for YouTube -- and go watch you, too! Cool! - LJF Wolffe
So sorry -- I can't find video. But it was the Crusade episode "The Long Road," if that helps at all. - LJF Wolffe

Tamara, totally. Sriracha is part of my delicate et cetera. - Akiva Moskovitz
I wouldn't have gotten through college without these. So many late nights... - Vaughn
Actually, the ramen universe is vast. Lately, I have had thing for bowls of handmade wide noodle ramen, in a spicy Chinese black vinegar. It's so good. But Curry Ramen with a shimp tempura is not bad. Miso ramen is a good standby. Or I can always enjoy Tonakstu ramen which is a white pork sauce. Summer time we do a hiashi chuka, which is a cold ramen with tomatoes, ham, cucumber and egg... more... - Robert Higgins
BION, some people in upper income brackets have Ramen several times a week. - Joe Silence is not Santa
Unfortunately for some of us poor Americans, the only ramen we know comes in plastic wrappers for cheap (when I was broke all the time, it was 10 pkgs/$1). Add to it your favorite/cheapest meat and/or veggies, and it was dinner. I'd love to sample real live ramen, but all I have available to me is the packaged stuff w/ too much fat & MSG. Ah, good times . . . 8-) - LJF Wolffe
not all ramen is created equal. the upper income folks get the real deal, poor folks get the plastic ten cent stuff. probably the same in name only. - Kamilah Gill
Very true, Kamilah -- but if it weren't for ramen & mac&cheese, I would have starved in my 20s! 8-) - LJF Wolffe
Indian ramen is a little expensive from the Indian grocery stores than regular ramen is at the normal grocery store.... but it tastes so much better. Can't eat the normal stuff anymore. - Wirehead

i got some cheap ramen in my cupboard now. i also paid 20 bucks for some fancy ramen for dinner last night. i would eat more cheap ramen but i think my stomach has officially gone on strike from the stuff :-\ - Liz
I pretty much lived on that in my early 20's when I was poor and couldn't cook to save my soul! Ramen was one of the few things I couldn't screw up. Then one day I discovered I could add frozen Chinese veggies to it and was all excited because it meant I could have a dinner party! :-) (Thankfully, I have expanded my culinary repertoire since then...) - vicster is...

I think this is the meal of every poor college student. My old college diet consisted of Ramen, Macaroni & Cheeses, and Turkey burgers (they were cheap, like $5 for 20 patties). - Bryan Lee
AIUI, ramen can be fresh noodles, but the instant kind is probably not as good for you, what with it being fried before packaging. I still like them, though, and stash a couple at work for backup meals. - Andrew C
And instant noodles + kimchi + some real vegetables (leftovers, usually) + an egg = my go-to meal when I'm sick. - Andrew C
Now I know what I'm going to have for lunch today. :) Seriously, though, I still want to go to an authentic Japanese ramen restaurant. The real stuff looks SO delicious. - Cheryl Jones
