OK, friends, I'm all for re-purposing. But how about donating the crib? I think Pinterest and mommy blogs are causing some to exchange sensibility for silliness. #JustWondering #BeingCandid

Yeah, I agree. There are so many people who really do need cribs. This seems like a waste of a good piece of furniture. I mean, yay for repurposing and stuff, but... - Hookuh Tinypants
I think this is just stupid. But that's me. - LB: #TeamMonique
HA! :D I agree. I was trying to soften the blow a little in case anyone here thought it was neat. But stupid is the exact thing I thought when I saw this. - Hookuh Tinypants
Agreed. I don't mind them re-purposing or not donating the crib... I just think it's an ugly desk. - SAM
Yes, stupid in many ways. As I said, thank Pinterest and mommy blogs! I was nice and called it "silliness". :) - Lois Loves LB and Mr. B
I think the desk is kinda cute. Yeah, I said it! - Zulema ❧ spicy cocoa tart
You go ON with your bad self, Zu. :D <3 - Hookuh Tinypants

Don't get me wrong. I want to paint one wall of my home office in chalkboard paint. :) - Lois Loves LB and Mr. B
I think repurposing is cute, and I really like to see how creative people are. But some things are so highly functional in their original condition that repurposing takes away. Unless the crib was damaged or they couldn't afford a desk. - Heather
Also, if this is one of those older cribs that by law/safety standards can't be used for its original purpose, that's ok. The style doesn't appeal to me, but nobody says it has to. (I'd be squicked out about getting chalk dust all over my arms while writing on the desk. o_O) I would help Zu make one, though, 'cause I think she's all awesome and junk. :) - LB: #TeamMonique
Cribs (and most used baby furniture) can't always be donated and most have expiration dates. I reused mine as a trellis. I was going to donate it but a small crack in the wood meant no one would take it. - Anika from FFHound!
I think it's cute too. After reading FB posts from friends with kids who have outgrown cribs, I have the sense that many parents who would otherwise donate baby furniture, car seats, etc. don't because of a fear of the products being outdated & thus unsafe. Then there are the clueless folks. My old crib & stroller are STILL in my parents' attic and for a minute my dad had the idea of donating them. Uh, NO. - Corinne L
Did you use outdoor paint, Anika? - LB: #TeamMonique
No, Laura. No paint. I just took the crib apart and stuck the ends in the ground and let the sweet pea grow around it. The bed part I used as a table for planting for a few years. - Anika from FFHound!
I'd think repurposing is a good use for some of those cribs out there that wouldn't pass today's safety standards for things like distance between the bars, etc. But this is rather ugly in the execution. - Running Slow
at first glance it's sort of cute, but generally a drawing table is more functional if you can move it around, get more than two kids sitting at it by using both sides, etc. - Laura Norvig
