Should you first test one? there is no hw that can be so small and run vista with desent batt life and performance.. people are happy with xp on their netbooks so why not on mids too..

jkkmobile, If a company is going to put time into let's say writing a custom shell for a MID, I'd suggest moving forward with the OS rather than staying with XP, but I get your point, XP is thinner and for now a better fit for these small devices. And personally, I've switched all my UMPCs and lightweight PCs to Vista--oh, except for one. Also, by the looks of it, I'm thinking when the Windows 7 beta comes out I'll start moving all of them over to it.

iphone = mid? meh, game over on strike one imo... but then i would say that mid, netbook, smartphone, and more, are all just marketing maneuvering to try to differentiate their products from all the other portable/pocketable computers on the market. the web have leveled the cpu market, but now microsoft, adobe and others are trying to divide up the web by way of silverlight, flash and similar...
